I do not own Transformers, but I do own Auri and Danny.
It was a peaceful day. The birds were flying around; kids were outside playing in the streets. Auri Andrews was outside playing with little Danny, pushing him on the swing set that their father built before he died.
“High, high!” he laughed.
“If you go any higher, you’ll go flying around the world.” Auri laughed pushing him.
The sound of a car horn honking interrupted their playtime. Auri walked over to see a yellow Camaro in her driveway. She smiled, “Hey Bee, where’s Sam?” she asked the car.
Before Bumblebee could answer, Danny came running over. “Aw-ee, who talk?” he asked looking over at the car in front of him.
“No one, why don’t you go inside. Mama’s making cookies, I’ll bet she needs help” Auri said picking up her baby brother and walking inside, but not before looking back at the car, ‘I’ll be back’ she mouthed to the Camaro. “Yeah! Cookie!” Danny shrieked running into the kitchen.
“Hey mama, is it alright if I go out for awhile?” Auri asked her mother, who was indeed making cookies. “Who was that honking?” her mother asked not looking away from her work. “Uh, just a friend of mine.” Auri said picking up a few cookies and placing them in a small bag for later. It was the truth; Auri and Bumblebee were almost inseparable.
“Alright, but be back before nightfall ok?” her mother said looking over at her daughter. Auri smiled, “Will do. Awesome cookies by the way! Ok, love you, bye!” Auri said hugging her mother and kissing Danny on the cheek before running out with her purse on her shoulder.
She ran outside and over to the Camaro who opened the passenger door for her. Auri hopped in. “That was close. That boy just pops up out of nowhere sometimes.” She sighed as Bumblebee drove off.
Suddenly, the hologram of a young man with dirty blond hair and bright blue eyes showed up in the drivers’ seat. “I take it that that was your little brother? He’s cute.” The man laughed while driving to the lookout where everyone met.
When they arrived, Sam and Mikaela were already there, along with the rest of the Autobots. Auri jumped out and ran over to greet her best friend. “How’s it goin’? Mikaela asked hugging the girl. “Everything’s fine, I managed to steal these though.” Auri said holding up the freshly baked cookies.
“Gimme!” Mikaela snatched the cookies from Auri. Sam came over with a confused look. “Uh, ok.” He said looking at his girlfriend. “Trust me Sam, when you’ve known her as long as I have, you know not to get in the way of Mikaela and her cookies.” Auri said giggling.
“Hello Auri, I see your leg is looking better.” Ratchet said walking over to the three teens and picking Auri up to scan her ankle that was broken. “Yeah, it feels a lot better now that I don’t have that stupid cast on anymore!” she said letting the medic do his work. When he was done scanning her leg, he set her back down. Then Optimus came over. “Hello Auri.” He said smiling down at the girl.
“Hi Optimus.” The girl said waving up at the Autobot Commander. “Can I have a word with you, alone?” he asked. Auri nodded and climbed onto his hand. Optimus walked away from the group so he could talk to Auri. “Is something wrong?” Auri asked looking at Optimus. “How long do you think it will take to repair Jazz?” he asked.
Auri thought about this for a minute, “I’m not sure, I’ll have to take a look to estimate exactly how long it’ll take, and with school starting soon, I won’t have a lot of time.” Auri said truthfully. Optimus nodded, “I’m detecting Decepticons around the country. More will be coming soon.” Optimus said looking at the view.
“So we’ll need all the help we can get.” Auri said, “Optimus, is there going to be another war?”
Optimus sighed, “I’m not sure, but I think that we should prepare ourselves, just in case.” He said looking down at the girl. Auri nodded in understanding.
Once Auri got back to the others, Mikaela bombarded her with questions, “Is something wrong? What were you talking about? You’re not telling me something!” Auri stared at her friend before blinking, “Uh, Optimus told me not to tell anyone, sorry.” She said backing up a little. ‘She’s high on sugar, that’s what I get for giving her cookies.’ She thought.
Sam looked at his watch, “It’s getting late. I think we should go now.” He said. Auri nodded. Bumblebee transformed and opened the doors for the three teens. Auri hopped into the back while Mikaela and Sam got up front.
When Bumblebee stopped at Auri’s house, Danny ran out and tackled his sister, “Back!” he giggled. Auri could hear Sam and Mikaela snickering and Bumblebee making a noise that sounded like he was holding in his laughter.
Auri got an idea. She picked up Danny and walked over to the passengers’ side and opened the door, “Look Danny! It’s Mika!” she said grinning evilly.
“MIKA!” he squealed and jumped in the car and hugged the girl with all his might. Sam and Auri burst out in laughter. Mikaela looked at the small child, “Hi Danny Boy! You’ve gotten so big since the last time I saw you!” she said hugging him and glaring at Auri, who was snickering.
“Ok, well I’ll see you guys some other time, come on Danny, I’m sure mama has dinner ready for us!” she said taking the boy from Mikaela and waving good-bye. “Bye bye Mika!” Danny yelled waving good-bye.
Later that night, Auri couldn’t stop thinking about what Optimus said. ‘Just what we need. Another war.’ She thought as she put Danny to bed.
