Suigetsu Hozuki hated girls.

Correction, he hated girls like Karin. Girls who batted their eye lashes and pouted their lips for a cold hearted angst-y pretty boy who couldn’t care less if you were breathing or not.

Girls who did all that was in their grasp to get rid of you like pushing you off a cliff or leaving you to die from dehydration just so they could be alone with their ‘cold hearted angst-y pretty boy’.

Girls who whined, girls who ignored the rest of the world opting instead to try and seduce their ‘cold hearted angst-y pretty blah blah blah….’

You get the picture.

Suigetsu hated girls like Karin.

Girls like Karin were the reason why he was sprawled out on the ground with the damned sun shining like no tomorrow above him and killing everyone with its bloody ultra-violet rays and he was so damn thirsty and freaking tired from searching for the rest of Hebi and he just wanted to lie down and rest and wish to all the gods out there that it would rain because he was dying…

And here’s the part where he was saved.

Imagine his surprised to hear a soft ‘Oh!’ from somewhere in front of him. Cracking an eye open in curiosity he hissed and closed it again because of the light, the blinding light from the bloody sun.

Sensing the presence of whoever it was that ‘Oh’-ed kneel before him and press something suspiciously wet and cold and welcomed to his parched lips, Suigestu opened his mouth and mustered enough energy to grasp the bottle and gulp and gulp and gulp and gulp until he drained all the water from the offered bottle.

Cracking both his eyes open, Suigetsu stared into the face of his angel (who was peering down at him, head blocking the sun) and fell in love.

Love!

Pearl eyes blinked down at him in concern and a small frown marred her face with indigo hair spilling down like a curtain. The most notable feature of her was her Leaf headband.

Huh. Leaf headband…?

“If you come across any ninjas from Konoha, do your best to avoid them, Suigetsu, or at least ensure they don’t know who you’re affiliated with,” the Uchiha muttered cooly.

Renewed by the water, Suigetsu could faintly sense the presence of two charka signatures approaching, neither familiar. Without a thought towards the unknown girl, he disappeared in a puff of smoke leaving the girl kneeling on the ground looking confused.

Blinking in surprise, Hinata stared at the ground before her (lack of exhausted sliver haired teen noted) before turning around to stare at her new companions.

“Hinata-chan?” wheezed a very tired and frustrated Naruto. “Got anything that could lead us to that weasel?”

Shaking her head Hinata murmured, “Ah, gomen N-Naruto-kun…Yamato-sensei. I thought that I’d seen something peculiar when I surveyed the area…”

Coughing lightly Yamato replied, “No worries Hinata-san. Knowing the Akatsuki it was probably a diversion.”

Nodding weakly Hinata stood and followed the forms of Naruto and Yamato.

Hiding in the tree, charka hidden, Suigetsu grinned to himself when he learnt the name of his angel but frowned when he heard the rest of Naruto’s monologue. Weasel? Could it be?

Sasuke was hell bent on finding his ‘weasel of a brother’ and he was lost…making a hasty decision Suigestu decided to follow them. Two birds killed with one stone…he’ll most likely meet up with Snake and he’ll get to observe Hinata and see if she was or wasn’t like Karin.

He was hoping wasn’t.
