Chapter Five

“Gah. I’m so bored, Yuge.” Joey flopped down on the couch and caused his friend to bounce quite a bit.

After recovering form the incident he spoke.

“Well, then chose something to do and we’ll do it.” Yugi said plainly. Joey smirked.

“J…Joe-kun! Get your mind out of the gutter!” (DX) Yugi blushed wildly and pushed Joey.

“Heh heh, sorry, Yuge. It’s taken up permanent residence there.” Joey grinned sheepishly and shifted his gaze, “You know I used to have the worst crush on you…?”

“Really?” Yugi was honestly surprised.

“Yeah… you didn’t know? Why do you think I picked on you all the time?”

“To be mean… oh wait, you said you were ‘trying to make me into a man.’” Yugi chuckled.

“Well… no, I lied. It was to be annoying… and I really didn’t wanna like you.” Joey ducked his head.

“Oh, well thanks. You make me feel so loved and cherished.” He said sarcastically.

“It wasn’t… I just didn’t want to lose my friends… friend.”

“It’s okay, Joey. I understand. But now you at least have me, and I think Kaiba, on your side.”

“Woo. One more person to drag down with me…” Joey was beginning to feel depressed.

“Uhm… well, let’s play a game since your mind is always in the gutter.”

Joey perked up slightly,

“Yeah? Sure.”

“Well, it’s called truth or truth--”

“Yuge, it’s called truth or dare.” Joey interrupted.

“No… I was taught a different game, ‘truth or truth‘. The first truth is just a regular secret, the second truth is… well.. heh heh.” Yugi blushed again, “a sexual secret.”

Joey raised an eyebrow and hesitated,

“What kinda people do you hang out with, Yuge?”

“Oh… blame that transfer student, Izzy.”

“Oi… Izzy… tainting the mind of little Yugi here.” He chuckled and shook his head.

“Well? You wanna play?”

“Meh, sure. I’d like to know all your dirty little secrets, Yuge.” Joey smiled.

“Not sure if you want all of them. Ok then, truth or truth?”

“Hmmm… truth.” Joey chuckled inwardly. His voice sounded weird because of the stress he had to put on the word ‘truth’.

Yugi thought a moment,

“Ever made-out with anyone?”

“Ah, sadly, no I have not, but I hear it is a pleasant experience. Truth ‘er truth?”

“Truth.”

“Gah, so boring. But fine. Just curious, but is that Atemu gone forever?”

“yeah… it depresses me to think about it.”

“Well that sucks. He was sexy.” Joey grinned like a cat.

“Joey… what are we going to do with you?” Yugi sighed, “Truth or truth?”

“Truth.”

“What did you wanna do with me when you did like me?”

“Haha.. just… stuff.” Joey sweat dropped.

“What kind of stuff?”

“Things..”

“You have to answer the question.”

“Hrmm.. Can I phone a friend?”

Yugi’s face remained frozen in amused irritation.

“Fine. Just… maybe make out with you… some.” Joey mumbled.

“Oh.” Yugi smirked, “I have another question.”

“I’m not gunna make out with you, Yuge, but I mean, if you really want to then I could go with that, I could work somethin’ out--”

“No, Joe.” Yugi chuckled, “Do you like anybody?”

Joey felt instantly uneasy.

“What do you--”

“You know what I mean. Do you like Kaiba?” Yugi interrupted Joey.

“…I…uh..” Joey fumbled over his words, and Yugi figured that was his answer right there, “Oi, Yuge, it’s getting kinda late, we should really--”

“If you could tell me you were gay, Joey, then why can’t you tell me who you like?” Yugi asked sadly.

Gah… Joey hated the ‘gay card‘. He figured that Yugi thought that since Joey had told him biggest secret, he could tell him anything else. It wasn’t that easy.

“The truth is… I don’t know if I do or not, Yuge.” Joey sighed.

“So you think you do?”

Joey nodded slightly. His face felt hot.

“Did you like him before?”

“Yeah… of course I did. Why do you think that everything he said to me bother me so much? Every insult hurt worse than if anyone else would have said it…”

“I thought you hated him, though.”

“No… I liked him, a lot.” Joey shook his head, “It’d be pointless to like him now. Some things about people don’t change. He would never… go for a dog like me.”

Yugi paused and mulled over his next statement.

“You’re not a dog, Joe-kun. Remember, he told you to think of it as a ‘term of endearment‘.”

Joey scoffed,
“He was just being a sarcastic prick, like he always was.”

“I don’t think so Joey. I think you give him little credit. Things change people… and something changed him a lot… I just don’t know…” Yugi trailed off to think.

“In time Yuge.” Joey tried to lighten the mood that he, himself, had placed a damper on, “Let’s finish out game. I want more dirt on you…”

Izzy:: told you it was shorter, but chapter six is a fair bit longer, and there’s Seto in it (yay).

Oh, and ‘bout Set-kun and the past two years… You all will just have to suffer a bit longer, sowy… but I think I might put a few more hints in the next chapter… Maybe. ;3
