Chapter 1-

My Feelings to Eichi

Hello, my name is Koyama Mitsuki and I’m sixteen years old. I attend Kimaka High School and am in second year in other words a sophomore. My grades top to the thirteenth spot out of 20 top students in my grade. You can say I’m sort of like a role model…or not. I’m not popular and my only friend is Izumi Lio. My one dream is to become a famous singer and inspire people with my music. Whether I have a good voice or not, I don’t know but my Grandmother won’t let me be a part of anything like talent shows and such. I ask her and she avoids the question though I have a gut feeling it has to do something with my parent’s death. Oh, yes I’m an orphan. My mom died giving birth to me because her body was weak and my father on his way to the hospital, died. Every day I pray for them and whenever I leave my home, I say “Ittekimasu!” and when I return from school I say to the picture of them two, “Tadaima” even if they don’t answer back in my heart I know they are happy to welcome me back.

Actually there is a certain boy on my mind often…

--

“Miki, you’re doing this all wrong,” pointed out a blonde haired boy with yellow eyes. Mitsuki stared down at her math paper trying to concentrate. Her weakest subject happens to be math and strongest, Japanese. She sighed and put down her yellow pencil losing all hope.

“Izumi I can’t solve this one. I’m not the top student like you!” Mitsuki exclaimed and Izumi only smiled. Her best friend and only friend, Izumi Lio was very close to her but in a brotherly kind of relationship. Many students thought both of them were seeing each other and that was far from the truth. Leave it up to gossiping students to ruin your reputation. Brother Izumi and that was that.

“Discouraged so easily even when you did five questions easily a while ago?” he teased and she frowned not in the mood to be teased by her friend. Today they would pair up into groups and since Mitsuki and Izumi were early today with only two other classmates in the room, they paired up and began to work. To begin she wasn’t very social with other people and most thought of her as snobby and cute girl. It wasn’t her fault she was cute and she certainly didn’t ask for it. Despite her good looks, Izumi’s many fan girls were jealous of her.

“No it’s just…” she stopped when the door of the classroom opened gracefully and a tall boy with soft light brown hair almost like dirty blonde stepped in with his eyes closed and smiling radiantly. His white uniform shirt neatly tucked in and a black over coat with a red tie made him look his best wait, no he made the uniform look brilliant. On the rest of the guys the uniform was plain and normal with the exception of Izumi and Eichi who were the top hot guys in her high school.

He walked in gracefully and a crowd of girls followed him along with some guys who admired this young man. Mitsuki’s cheeks turned a slight pink already imagining brilliant white doves and flowers around her lifelong crush, Eichi Sakurai. He was a total model student and nobody hated him or envied the son of the Sakurai Family. He was the next heir to inherit the whole House and everybody could already imagine the young man excelling above his duties. Handsome, intelligent, kind, always smiling, never losing his cool, and befriending every student in the school including older students described him. He would politely reject the confessions of girls and sometimes boys and in return ask them to spend a day with him to make up for his rejection. Even so no girl cried when he rejected them.

“Oh he has to be in the room to lighten up your spirits,” Izumi said chuckling. Mitsuki’s shade of pink turned red. He greeted everyone casually since the room was being filled with students who waited outside the school doors for Eichi’s arrival to school and then followed him to the classroom and not once did he complain about their odd behavior. He came up to Izumi since the two top students got along pretty well but were not close like Mitsuki and Izumi. She lowered her head in case Eichi noticed her red face now that would be embarrassing.

“Good morning, Lio-san,” he said in his soft boyish voice that still hadn’t hit puberty. Izumi smiled like he always did even if it was his fake smile and greeted his classmate casually.

“Good morning, Saku-kun,” Izumi said. Izumi was also well known for coming out for short nicknames for everyone and he was the only one allowed to call everyone by their first name if they weren’t familiar or friends. Eichi thought his nickname rather amusing and allowed for Izumi to call him Saku-chan and he was the only one who dared to call him Eichi this in front of his parents or bodyguards.

“Ah, good morning Koyama-san,” Eichi greeted Mitsuki. Mitsuki let out a small gasp and managed to hold her head up high and utter a feeble good morning. When Eichi arrived at his seat, she let out a sigh of relief. Izumi seemed to find this reaction very amusing because he began to laugh silently but Mitsuki caught him and gave him a warning glare.

He pretended to cough and apologized. There was a sound of a person clapping their hands and everyone sat up straight and directed their attention to their male teacher, Keiichi Wakaoji-sensei. Mitsuki couldn’t think of a person who could hate her teacher. He had a personality like Eichi but firm and confident and it was rumored he used to be a doctor. Age 28, and he hadn’t and he still appeared like when he was 20 but much taller and handsome. His hair was a light brown and his eyes were a light green someone correct me if I’m wrong about his eye color.

“Good morning everyone, I hope you have already chosen your partner. Today we have a new transfer student,” Wakaoji-sensei announced and a few whispers began. It was fall already and having transfer students was rare to this school. You had to pass some tests to get in if you were a transfer student. Of course elite students and those of money who transferred took no such tests and were allowed in. The door slid open again this time revealing a handsome guy.

The boys let out a groan whispering something like, “Why another guy like Sakurai-san and Lio-san? We can’t easily get dates as easily like they do.” The girls gasped and giggled and whispered loudly, “He’s hot! He has a wild look in his eye and he’s cool looking!”

“This is Kira Takuto and I expect for you guys to treat him well,” Wakaoji-sensei instructed warningly but with a smile and everyone agreed. Takuto stood and put his hand in the pockets of his coat and his white shirt was tucked out and his tie nowhere to be found but soon you could tell his tie had been used to tie his black hair into a small ponytail and his blue eyes shone bright. Either he was very brave to turn up on the first day of school with his uniform in this state or just plain foolish, not one person complained about this.

“My name is Takuto Kira, nice to meet you guys, please be kind to me,” Takuto said actually behaving properly and bowing in respect. Whispers filled the room and then girls crossed their fingers in hopes the newcomer would sit next to them.

Pointing to the desk next to the window next to Mitsuki and Izumi, Wakaoji-sensei said, “Your seat will be next to Miss Koyama.” Takuto grinned and his small fangs he has cute fangs in my opinion it makes him look hot! showed this made the girls let out a squeal. He walked to his desk and turned to Mitsuki.

“I’m lucky to get to sit by a cute girl,” he said and Izumi sighed while Mitsuki turned redder. She had been called cute by the new transfer student who was a bad boy.

“Hitting on Miki so soon, Ta-kun?” Izumi asked irritated. His brotherly role was to protect Mitsuki from perverts and guys who tried to hit on her. Takuto shook his head.

“No, a Shorty like her doesn’t catch my attention. Have I earned a nickname already?” Takuto sat in his seat and Izumi glared at him and Takuto returned the favor. Mitsuki had a feeling these two were never going to get along. Izumi smiled cynically and crossed his arms.

“Would you prefer another worse than the one I gave you?” Izumi asked coolly. Takuto shrugged not caring whether he had a nickname or not. As long as no one else called him by his nickname he was fine.

“Do as you like,” he replied.

“I’m not short!” Mitsuki said indignantly remembering his insult to her. Takuto crossed his arms and sighed not wanting another fight with a woman.

“Already in denial, Koyama-san, I would think you are not the type of person to take jokes seriously.”

Mitsuki shut her mouth and from the corner of her mouth responded to Takuto’s counter attack. “I am not taking this seriously.”

“Takuto leave Koyama-san alone.” Some one behind them said and they all turned their attention to the famous Eichi Sakurai who had come to Mitsuki’s rescue. Izumi is having too much fun watching Miki defend herself.

Takuto turned to face the number one idol of the school. He shrugged chuckling and this is the first time anyone ignored Eichi like that and this roused the attention of some classmates. “Why should I listen to you, Nii-sama?” Eichi looks rather annoyed by the transfer student who had no idea who he was dealing with.

“I don’t take commands from people like you. You annoy me so leave me alone,” Takuto said coldly staring at Eichi with his blue eyes that showed fire behind them. Mitsuki stood up angrily. How dare he? He had just insulted her love of her life and she was not going to sit like a good girl and watch this go on.

“How dare you? You aren’t anyone to talk to Sakurai-san like that!” she said indignantly. Takuto’s eyes stared into Mitsuki’s soft brown ones and he laughed. This girl had no idea of who she was dealing with.

“Why are you laughing?” Mitsuki demanded.

“I have to be elite to talk like this to my own brother? You’re a funny Shorty, Koyama.”

Mitsuki froze in her place. Did Takuto say brother or did he mean to call Eichi Nii-sama in a rude way. There’s no way a transfer student would know Eichi came from a respectful family then again the Sakurai Company was famous but Takuto couldn’t possibly know who Eichi was. “Brother?” she asked weakly.

“I bet he hasn’t told any of his friends. I don’t blame him for not letting out information about me. I’m just the son of a bastard who tries to control my life. Thanks to his father, I’m related to this guy who everyone praises,” Takuto said with words sharp as a knife. Eichi averted his eyes and calmly placed his hand on Takuto’s shoulder.

“Not here, Takuto.”

“You’re brothers?”

“Come on Koyama you believe a story like that? Of course not! You’re so gullible,” Takuto replied. Eichi took his hand off Takuto’s shoulder and walked away. Mitsuki seated herself back down before Wakaoji-sensei could punish them all. Izumi studied his rival from where he sat. Mitsuki picked up her pencil solving problems on her own followed by a heavy silence.

‘I have a feeling Takuto was telling the truth…’

--

Mitsuki sighed heavily walking out of the front doors of the school. The sun was already setting and the sky was a bright yellow and orange. She had to hurry home unless she wanted to walk in the dark. Izumi had a very strict mother so he left before her since she stayed after school for choir. She kept the whole choir club from her Grandmother and insisted she stayed after school for a book club. Her choir teacher wanted her to perform a solo but Mitsuki refused at the idea of a legal guardian’s permission for her to go to the annual contest the choir attended.

She loved to sing above everything else but…she couldn’t bring herself to betray her Grandmother’s trust besides, if she wanted to see that person every day at school, she must not become an idol. Not seeing Eichi was a nightmare for her. She felt someone grab her hand and she turned in fright to face none other than her crush.

“Did I startle you, Koyama-san?” Eichi asked worried. Mitsuki shook her head and smiled to show she was not a bit upset. He nodded and then bowed and surprised Mitsuki by the sudden politeness.

“I’m terribly sorry about this morning with Takuto. He tends to get out of hand sometimes and no, he is not related to me but an important member of the Sakurai Company therefore I am responsible for all his actions,” Eichi explained and Mitsuki shook her head flustered.

“Sakurai-san, um, there is no need to apologize to me over that jerk’s behavior,” Mitsuki responded truthfully slowly gaining confidence to talk to her first love and crush. Eichi stood straight up now and seemed to consider her reply for a bit before smiling.

“I’m glad you are not offended. Now if you will excuse me I have to leave before a meeting starts.” Eichi ready to leave to the limo that had appeared in front of the school gates was stopped.

This could be Mitsuki’s only chance to talk to Eichi and with much confidence and she couldn’t afford to let it slip away easily. She called out his name and asked for him to wait. Even if he rejected her she wouldn’t mind as long as he knew how she felt. “Sakurai-san, daisuki. Would you like to go out with me?” she said firmly while her face burned. Her heart raced when Eichi’s eyes widened in surprise. She closed her eyes when she knew the rejection would come.

“Sure, I’ll go out with Mitsuki-chan,” he replied smiling radiantly. Mitsuki opened her eyes and gasped. Had Eichi really accepted her feelings and was willing to go out with her? She had to be dreaming again.

“Really? You’re not doing this out of pity or a form of apologizing for what happened this morning?” Mitsuki asked shocked.

He shook his head. “No, I’m not like that. I have to admit I’m a very shy person and I have admired you from afar. I overheard your solo in the choir room and was attracted by your beauty. I never could bring myself to confess to you since I thought you had no feelings for me in that way.”

Mitsuki’s heart almost stopped and she wiped her tears from her face. “I’m glad you like my singing.”

“Yeah.”

--

And that’s how Eichi and I really felt about each other. It was fast I have to admit but not once has Eichi accepted a girl to be his girlfriend. That’s why I think Eichi really likes me. I love him so much I think my heart will burst. I think the only problem in our relationship is Kira Takuto. Who is he really? And why does he call Eichi, Big Brother?

--

I hate to write Takuto to be some evil guy to intervene with Eichi and Mitsuki and that’s not really how I feel about him. I adore that stupid cat lol. I came up with this idea of a story while driving in the car.
