Chapter 9: Back with a Vengeance

The Artic Loch Ness Krakken roared choking Danny as he kept losing his breath. Danny grasped for air. “We got to do something about this!” Sandy cried.

Cavern looked up and creates an icy spear. “This is against my right to defend our guardian, but this is serious!” He throws the spear at the Krakken’s tentacle.

The Krakken roared in pain and lets go of Danny. Cosmo and Wanda turn into a pair of mattresses which Danny safely lands on. Jimmy, Timmy, and Patrick ran to Danny. “Come on, Danny! Breathe!” Timmy yelled jumping on the unconscious teen’s chest.

Jimmy listened to Danny’s chest. “His heart’s still beating, but I’m not sure yet.”

“NOOO!!!” Patrick cried.

“Please, Danny, don’t die…not again!” Jimmy yelled out and listened to his heart. “We got to do something!”

Then Patrick pushes Jimmy and Timmy aside. “Stand back children!” he yelled out., “My new best friend needs air, so it’s time for drastic measures.” Jimmy and Timmy stare oddly, realizing what was going to happen. Patrick spat on his hands, rubbing them, and leaned closer to Danny’s face. Getting closer…and closer and closer.

“GAH!!!” Danny widened his eyes in fear and pushes Patrick away, before he could perform CPR.

“Danny, you’re okay!” Timmy smiled.

“Yep! I’m okay! I don’t need any of that,” Danny smiled, both happy and relieved. Then, he wondered, “Hey, where’s SpongeBob?”

The others look at each other with sad faces. Danny looked worried, “You mean he’s-“

“Gone in the depths of the ocean,” Sharkgon smirked with Fang and Jaws on his side. They gasped.

“No…” Penny almost sobbed, seeing her new friend gone.

“And now that he and the treasure is gone,” Sharkgon growled, “I think it’s time for our main buffet.” Fang and Jaws smirked knowing what he meant.

“There’s a buffet?” Patrick asked stupidly, “Where? Where?”

Jimmy stared and turned to Danny, “And I wonder why SpongeBob is friends with him…”

The three humanoid sharks were about to corner them, preparing for their appetizer. Suddenly, a splash of water hit Sharkgon’s face.

“Leave my best friends alone, Fishbreath!” a high voice hollered.

Everyone gasped in surprise, recognizing the voice. “Could it be?” Danny wondered.

They turned around and smiled in joy. “SpongeBob!” Sandy yelled happily.

“Oh my gosh!” Timmy gasped.

“That’s my name which ends with SquarePants!” SpongeBob said proudly.

“SpongeBob's back and alive for revenge!” Jimmy cheered.

SpongeBob smiled but then glared at Sharkgon, “Sharkboy! Allow me to introduce myself...the new improved SpongeBob SquarePants! Something unexpected happened. A watery blue orb of light formed around SpongeBob's hands. He shot it onto Sharkgon against the wall.

The crew was surprised and impressed. “Wow! That sure is amazin'!” Sandy said.

“It sure is...” Penny sighed in relief.

“Wait, but how did the lad do that?” Krabs wondered, who never saw SpongeBob blast someone with that energy orb.

“SpongeBob found the Treasure!” Cavern explained.

“Wait, you mean Artic Treasure SpongeBob’s supposed to get?” Danny asked, “But I broke it!”

“True, but that other one was really a decoy and the real one was hidden in the depths. And now that he found it, it gave him its powers.”

“And I feel better than ever!” SpongeBob yelled which he glowed an icy blue aura around him.

“NO!!!” Sharkgon yelled, “That Treasure is supposed to be MINE! This Island should be ruled by me! Every Emperorian shall face my wrath!”

”Well, that’s what you get for playing with your food!” SpongeBob glared. He shots another light blue orb against Sharkgon again, knocking him out. He laughed, “Get it, Danny? Cuz penguins are food that sharks eat!”

“Dude, leave the puns to me,” Danny said unimpressed, “Although I like that power you’re now using."

“Yep!” SpongeBob said creating a orb of light as it swirled around brightly, “I call this move...the Watery orby thingy!”

Danny stares blankly at him. “Uh…how about you call that move: Aqua Sphere?”

SpongeBob looks at him, blinking. “That's even better,” he nodded. Then, SpongeBob shoots an Aqua Spheres against Sharkgon.

Sharkgon growled, “Get him!” he commanded.

“Huh?” SpongeBob turns but Jaws him into the water again. SpongeBob got into the surface but smirks. Suddenly, water came and formed, surrounding SpongeBob.

Everyone gasped to see more of SpongeBob’s new powers. He was flying now, surrounded by watery energy. He charges at Sharkgon again like a jet, tackling him to a wall.

“Whoa! This is so cool, almost close to Danny's powers,” Timmy shouted in excitement.

“I’ll take that as a compliment,” Danny said annoyed and asks SpongeBob, “What do you call that move?"

“Hmm…” SpongeBob began thinking in mid air, trying to find a cool name for it, “How about Hydro Jet for this flying move?”

Danny shrugs, “Fine with me! Now kick Sharkgon's butt!”

“You meant time to kick Sharkgon’s fin tail!” SpongeBob yelled out.

“Seriously, I should do the puns here,” Danny said rolling his eyes.

SpongeBob flies down and fights Sharkgon. Everyone cheers for him. “Go SpongeBob!” Penny called out.

“You the ma-uh…sponge!” Cavean called out.

SpongeBob hits Sharkgon with another Aqua Sphere again. Sharkgon was now weak. He gasped as Spongebob's Hydro Jet faded and he stomped his way to him. SpongeBob holds Sharkgon up against a wall. The sponge looked triumphed as Sharkgon gulps. “This is for my friends.” SpongeBob's hand glowed blue and he punched Sharkgon hard.

The shark collapsed, defeated as the gang cheered more and more for their improved hero…

Later on...SpongeBob, Danny, and everyone are back on the island with Jaws, Sharkgon, and Fang trapped in ice, trying to break free. The Emporians cheered for the heroes even SpongeBob. Penny places a flower necklace on him, Danny, Timmy, Jimmy, Sandy, Patrick, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs.

“Thank you so much for saving us!” Penny said placing the necklace on the sponge.

“Eh...It's was no problem,” SpongeBob blushed, “Artic Princess.” He was quite proud of her. Since Sharkgon and his goons were defeated and Cavean was found, Penny and Cavean are taking the throne and ruling Artic Island as Prince and Princess, this time to bring peace to their clan.

“For now, each of you will be a member of our clan,” Cavean said.

“Oh joy,” Squidward groaned, “I can’t wait to be in a group of giant penguins that can freeze stuff.”

SpongeBob chuckled but gasped to see the old Elder who almost threw him to a icy volcano. “Sorry about all this. I was really held against my will by Sharkgon,” Ricki said.

“Right…” SpongeBob glared but smiled, “But let bygones, be bygones, right?”

“Yep.”

“Hey! What’s that over there?”

“Huh?” Ricki turns around when a Aqua sphere blasted Ricki away.

Penny and Cavean laugh at what SpongeBob has done. “You know, I never actually liked that Elder,” Cavean admitted.

After the heroes received their “metal of honor” and awards, a group of girl penguins surround Danny and grab him by the arms. “Hey there cutie!” one girl said.

“Hey! He's mine!” the other snapped.

“No way! Get your flippers off of him!”

“He's mine!”

Danny chuckled seeing the two penguins fighting over him. “Danny! We got to go now!” Jimmy called out, “Our town needs us right away!”

“Wait, but the Dutchman sailed his ship away, so we have no ride,” Cosmo realized.

“So that means we stranded on this island!”

“So how will we get outta here?” Timmy wondered.

“It's no problem,” Cavean smiled. He makes a penguin call. Jimmy and Timmy gasped.

It was the Krakken as it traveled from the ocean to the shore. They began to back away, remembering that experience with it. “Don't worry. Now that the treasure is safe, he won't harm a fly and he can help take you guys home,” Cavean assured.

“Okay, if you say so,” Jimmy shrugs.

“I get dibs to ride on the head!” Timmy called it and rushes to ride on the Krakken, followed by Patrick, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs.”

“Come on Danny! Let’s go!” Jimmy called.

Danny just smiled with girls fighting over him. “It's okay guys! I'm captain and in charge. We'll go when I say we go!”

“Come on ghost boy! Be mine!” the girl penguin said.

“Or mine! It's mating season!” the other smiled.

Danny's eyes widened. “Got to go! See ya!” he told the girls and dashed away.

Danny grabs Jimmy and head to the creature with the others 'cept SpongeBob. He was having his moments now with Penny. “So…Penny? Thanks for everything,” SpongeBob said rubbing the back of his head.

“And thank you Spongebob. You saved me, and my brother,” Penny smiled, “How can I ever thank you?”

“Well, it’s nothing real-“ SpongeBob was cut off when Penny grabs him and gives SpongeBob a penguin kiss on the cheek. Spongebob's eyes popped and Danny, Jimmy, Timmy, Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, and Patrick were surprised.

“Uh no! That penguin is eating SpongeBob’s brains out!” Patrick cried.

“Oh boy,” Timmy, Jimmy, and Danny rolled their eyes.

Penny stopped kissing SpongeBob and smiled. SpongeBob giggled and put out his lips for more, that is until Sandy grabbed and dragged him away. “Come on lover boy, let’s go,” she said and throws SpongeBob on top of the Krakken. The team rides on the creature and wave good bye to Penny and Cavean, now that the island and its treasure is in safe hands.
