"What's this?"

"It looks like a boy... he seems to be about our age, Sora."

"Do you think he's okay?"

"I dunno... maybe we should wake him?"

"Don't you learn anything in school? We can't move him, not with injuries like that. It's best if we call the hospital."

Taron groaned loudly. "Ow... everything hurts... even my clothes hurt..."

"Are you alright?"

Taron froze. That was when he noticed he wasn't anywhere near where he had fallen. It looked like he was in a hospital room. Further inspection of his gown, which replaced his old clothes, confirmed it. That, and the blonde nurse.

"You gave us quite a scare. What happened to you?"

He stared at the nurse. "Say what?" he asked, tilting his head. He could feel an eyebrow raising on its own.

This flustered the nurse apparently, and she seemed to be unable to understand him either. She hit a button, and other nurses and doctors came in, speaking the same language that she had been seconds before. He could tell that the other doctors were trying their best to communicate with him, but no matter what they said, he could only shrug and shake his head.

He was kept in that room for a few extra days, mainly because he was afraid if he tried to leave, he'd get lost. He just sat there, trying to watch television, which was rather difficult as the language was the same so he had no idea as to what was going on.

On the third day, he got a visitor. And boy, was he surprised. She had a white tank top on, and a purple skirt as well. She wore a couple of white shoes as well. Of course, his attention wasn't on anything but her face. Her hair was as red as a rose, and her eyes were as blue as sapphires.

As far as he could tell, she fit his dream girl perfectly.

She tried to speak to him, like all the others, but he couldn't understand her. However, she persisted, and he eventually lost his temper. "Look, I can't understand a word you're saying, so stop trying to talk to me before I really lose it!"

The girl looked surprised, then giggled. "So you speak English. Why didn't you say so?"

He stared at her, surprised. "You... can understand me?" Then he blushed, realizing what he said. "... sorry..."

She giggled at him again. "It's okay. I would have been annoyed as well if I were you."

He let out a small smile. "So, what's your name? I would like to know the name of my first visitor."

"I'm Kairi", she said, holding her hand out to him, smiling happily. He shook, smiling just as well. Where have I heard this name before? he asked himself, although he didn't let that bother him. "What about you?" she asked.

"I'm Taron", he replied. "So, mind telling me where I am?"

"That would be the hospital." She laughed at her own joke. But then it was replaced with a serious look. "My friends and I found you on the beach. To us, it looked like some wild animal got a hold on you. We thought at first to wake you up, but then we decided to bring you here. You had a few broken ribs, a broken leg, a broken arm, and a major concussion when you were admitted six weeks ago."

"SIX WEEKS?!" he said, surprised. "I've been out for six weeks?!"

She nodded. "Yeah. The doctors were starting to get worried about you, but it's a good thing you woke up. It's Saturday now, so I finally had time to come and see you."

He blushed a bit. "You came to see me on your own?"

She nodded. "Yeah. I would have brought my friends, but they are such a pain! They were too into their spar to even notice that I had left!"

He laughed, and was about to say something about annoying friends, but a doctor came in. "Kairi, you should be going home."

"Aw... but I just spoke to him."

"Your father says so. Besides, he would like to have a word with our mysterious Kurohane in private."

"Alright..."

She turned back to him. "See you later, Taron." She then turned and ran out of the room.

He waved goodbye, although he was a bit confused. "Kurohane...?"

"Yes. That is our nickname for you."

He looked to the door again to see a new visitor. This one was different, male and tall. He had black hair and eyes, and wore somewhat fancy clothes. Taron immediately decided that this one was of more important stature.

"And you are?" Taron asked, not willing to talk to a complete stranger.

"I'm the mayor of these islands."

"Islands?"

"Yes. Welcome to Destiny Islands, Kurohane."

This struck a chord in his memory. He stared at the mayor, and could practically feel his heart stop pumping. the monitor confirmed it as it began to beep loudly. He quickly hit his chest, and the monitor went back to the steady rhythm it had before. His whole body shook, and his face lost all color. "D-Destiny Islands? N-N-Not Twilight C-City?"

The mayor shook his head, a sad gleam entered his eyes. "I'm afraid that there is no place anywhere near us named Twilight City."

Taron stared at the man, before he stood up, ignoring the pain his body was sending at him. He then grabbed his clothes and started to leave the hospital, a green aura beginning to surround him. When it faded, he began to run, tears in his eyes. Soon, he was far away from the hospital, and the man that told him what he did not want to believe.

He sat on the beach, sobbing as he let the fact that his home was gone forever sink into his mind. "My home... my city... it's all gone..."

With a flash, Twilight Bringer appeared in his hand, and he glared at it coldly. This wouldn't have happened if this... blade had appeared in his hand! It was the keyblade's fault that he was now on a world with no guide whatsoever! He stood up, and with a loud yell, flung it as far into the ocean as he could, and watched as it sank to the bottom. However, this served futile, as a second flash occurred and he once again held the keyblade in his right hand. He sighed, and fell to the ground. Then, and only when he finally accepted it, did the keyblade vanish without a trace.

"So far from home, with nowhere to go... those Heartless are probably out there somewhere... I have no friends, or family to help me now..." He sobbed again. "What am I going to do...?"

"You okay?"

When Taron turned around, he saw a boy there, possibly same age as him. His silver hair was long enough to reach his yellow and black sleeve-less shirt. Baggy blue pants adorned his legs with dark shoes on his feet. He also wore gloves on his hands. Icy blue met icy blue as the two observed each other, shocked by their appearances.

Taron sniffed a bit, and wiped a couple tears away. "Y-Yeah... just getting over the fact that I'm a long way from home and I have no way of getting back."

The older boy brushed the back of his head, suddenly wincing. "Ooh... sorry, didn't realized that I was hitting a touchy subject."

"It's okay..." Taron said. Then, he realized exactly what their conversation was. "Wait a minute! You speak english?"

The elder boy nodded, smiling. "Yeah. I'm sorry I didn't get to visit you in the hospital. My name is Riku."

"Taron", the smaller teen said, shaking Riku's hand. "I guess you're the second of the three that found me. Do all three of you speak english?"

Riku laughed. "Unfortunately, no. Only Kairi and myself. Kairi because she's the mayor's daughter, me because learning a second language is available to students once they reach high school."

"Ah..." Taron sniffed and wiped a tear away again. Although he did have a small smile one his face. "Well, I'm kinda new to the whole japanese thing... do you think you could teach me? I don't think I'd be able to last without being able to understand everyone."

Riku nodded. "Sure thing." He was about to tell him to head back to the hospital, but realized that despite the severity of his wounds when they found him, he didn't even have a scar on him now. This piqued his interest, but decided not to say anything. "Come on. You don't have anywhere else to stay, so I think you'd rather stay at my house."

Taron smiled, following his new friend off into the residential island.
