When she first read that fable she believed it.

He would be a good cat…

She still does and he is a good now.

Somewhere else she had read that masters or mistresses give their pets something to identify them around their necks like a collar or a ribbon.

She would often wonder if she is his mistress…

But then she would stop to think and sheepishly duck her head in realization that it was…not a claim.

The only mistress of Train’s heart was Saya, despite what he wanted the others to believe.

But she knew and wasn't bitter about that fact.

It was nice though, Eve would muse absently, to think that she was the mistress of the Black Cat.

If only in her thoughts.

If Sven knew of what naïve and innocent Eve daydreams about he would blame Rinslet.

After all she was the one who introduced his darling to romance novels, filling her mind with wishful thinking.

But romance was bound to capture her heart, as it did to all innocent minds of the female gender.

There was no use in avoiding it.
