“I-I h-hate y-you!”

No. She-she didn’t mean that, she could never ever mean but it hurt, damn it.

Hurt to watch her hurt herself so and use Naruto like she did without a thought and-!

“I know.”

Lavender eyes close, shutting out the sight of sadden green ones.

“But I love them both, Hinata-chan…”

“Y-you c-can’t use him like that Sa-Sakura!”

Opalescent eyes burn with unshed tears.

She doesn’t want to act like this, she doesn’t want to tear away the walls but it must be done for Sakura to see.

“I know.”

“Then choose!” the timid girl bellows furiously, stutter lost to her whirling emotions and the pink haired girl is taken by surprise.

“I-I…”

It’s Sakura’s turn to stutter.

“You say you love Uchiha-san and-and you completely disregard N-Naruto but when he’s…he’s cold and distant and you know Sakura you know that he doesn’t love you…”

Sakura doesn’t speak.

“… and you go to Naruto-kun f-for comfort and Naruto…he’s passionate and caring where Uchiha-san isn’t Sakura! He loves…you and you can’t keep breaking his heart…”

Both their hearts are bleeding and guilt and sorrow eats away at Hinata.

“I-I’m sorry, Sakura-chan. I’m be-being selfish and bitter and unreasonable and jealous…”

“Of what?” Sakura asks hoarsely, pulling the sobbing girl into her embrace and they both cry.

“You…you have the sun,” Hinata says with a bittersweet smile.

Muttering Sakura replies, “And you have the moon.”

It still hurts though, to know that Naruto would never look at her the way he does to Sakura and for Sakura, her heart breaks every time Sasuke’s eyes soften and his mask slips a bit when Hinata is around.

But the friends remain in the embrace knowing that however jealous of the other they are, their friendship is something precious and they wouldn’t sacrifice it for the world.

Unrequited love is painful but they both know that losing a friend is worst.

So that’s why…

…they try.

I’m thinking Hinata is unfair too because Sasuke feels for her but then again she doesn’t encourage him by going for comfort. Blah. I’m confused and my heart is sore.

I believe that the friendship Sakura and Hinata has is something utterly glorious (in fanfiction though, we never see this kind of thing in the manga).

How did I do? I wrote this choppy on purpose.
