Hey everybody! Just another one-shot from me. It's for all the people at talkcsi who wanted a post-ep for death grip. here it is guys! I hope you like it.
Thanks so much to Jodie for being such an amazing beta. All I have to say is - great minds think alike! You have no idea how angry I am at msn right now for not working so I can't talk to you. xoxo
Eric looked down at the tulips in his hand, hoping she would like them. He knew tulips were her favourite flower but still ... he just prayed she'd like them.
Walking up to her door, he took a deep breath and knocked. He hoped she was alone and that she wouldn't mind him just showing up like this. He waited and waited but still nothing happened.
It didn't occur to him that she wouldn't be home.
Sighing, he turned and began to walk away. Then he heard the door open behind him.
"Eric?" he heard her say. Oh how he loved the way she said his name.
He turned around and smiled.
Then he saw what she was wearing and he forgot everything he had to say.
She looked good.
She wasn't dressed up like she usually was for work or anything. This was a more ... domesticated Calleigh. Just pyjama pants and a white tank top but damn.
"Eric? Are you okay?"
"Yeah Cal I'm fine. I was just coming by to give these to you." he said, holding out the flowers.
"Oh Eric they're beautiful!" she squealed, taking them from him.
"Do you wanna come inside for a little while?" she asked, her eyes sparkling.
How could he resist?
"Sure" he responded, smiling and following her inside.
She went straight to the kitchen, beginning to put the flowers in a vase with some water.
"Do you want a soda or something?" she asked, southern hospitality kicking in.
"Yeah that'd be great, thanks" he replied, suddenly kind of nervous.
She walked over to her fridge and grabbed 2 cans, handing him one on her way to the living room.
"So what's up?" she asked casually, though he didn't miss the underlying concern in her tone.
"I just wanted to talk to you about today."
"Oh" was all she said, but she gave him a questioning look.
He loved how their communication was non-verbal.
"I just ... well I got really upset about it, as you know, and I just wanted to thank you." he blurted out, cursing his inability to form a coherent sentence around her.
"Oh" she smiled. "Well, you're welcome"
"You just ... really helped me out back there and then turning up to the funeral like that ... even just seeing you standing beside me was a comfort. I just wanted to tell you that and thank you so much for always knowing how to make it better."
He could see the stunned expression on her face and thought maybe he had revealed too much.
"I'm sorry Cal. I should go." He said, getting up to leave.
She grabbed his hand.
He turned and looked at her questioningly.
She smiled, a really warm smile. It was so beautiful the way her eyes sparkled when she did that.
"That was beautiful Eric. You really don't need to thank me though. It was my pleasure. I know you would have done the same for me."
Eric blushed and she pulled him back down to sit next to her. She shifted her position, so she could lean on him and rest her head on his shoulder. Eric sighed with content.
"You know you make me feel better too. Without even knowing it."
Eric frowned at her comment. "How?"
"Just by being there. Just by being you. You brighten up my days and if anyone should be thanking anyone, I should be thanking you."
He turned his head slightly and tentatively kissed the top of hers.
"It was my pleasure." He smiled, repeating her earlier mantra.
"Wanna watch a movie?" she asked, snuggling closer to him.
"Sounds great" he said.
Please review guys! I hope it didn't disappoint!
