A/N (September 16th 2007): So I revamped the summary of this story, I realized that it was basically wrong after I posted chapter five but it still doesn’t cover everything (damn the character limit). So my ‘copy paste’ introduction has suffered to create a better layout.
Original A/N: Since the release of ‘Rockman Naruto’ by Terra Ace, it’s inspired me to start this ‘Ryuusei no Rockman’ themed Naruto fanfiction. I’ve mentioned it to Terra and he seems to support this idea so this is it. I don’t care if the reactions I get out of this is crap, it’s something new and I’m enjoying it. YOU DON'T NEED TO BE A ROCKMAN FAN TO ENJOY THIS STORY
Uzumaki Naruto always thought that he was just your normal fifteen-year-old blonde boy that was treated lower then the dried mud found at the bottom of one’s shoe. The said boy groaned as he turned over in his bed, stealing a glance at his alarm clock which read two-o’clock in the god damned morning. He sighed and fumbled around in the slight dark, to lazy to turn on the light and located his favourite pair of sunglasses, simple frameless glasses with a green-tint instead of the usual black or brown tint. They were useless for blocking out the Sun’s rays during the day, but they made stargazing at night that much cooler.
‘Old-man Hokage told me that these once belong to my father…’ Naruto thought to himself as he held them in his hand, he only had them in his possession for a little less then three months, and they created his new favourite pastime (next to Ramen consuming and training).
He put them on before starting to search for a pair of pants, sure he lived in the Land of Fire but he had to be a lunatic to lie down on his cold stone balcony at this time at night. Almost shouting for joy when he finally found his god forsaken orange pants, he made yet another mental note purchase a different colour if he ever passed the Genin exam. The ‘KILL ME’ suit could only go so far in the ninja world…
“Shit…what time is it now…” Naruto muttered out loud as he glanced at the clock, quarter past. He had about three hours until sunrise and about five hours until his glasses were rendered useless until sunset.
He walked out onto the balcony and looked down onto the streets of Konoha and watched as a couple of drunk, singing Jounin walked past, he grinned slightly as they started to sing the festive ‘Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer’ although it was the middle of June, well drunk men can sing whatever they want? Right?
Smiling he finally laid down on the cement of his balcony and finally looked up at the night sky, apart from the usual stars and constellations that decorated the sky, he was able to see and watch various ‘waves’ float through the sky some looked like pink or multi-coloured shooting stars, others looked likes shapes running though the sky leaving shadows of the same colour behind which slowly faded over time like a firework would. If Naruto was lucky enough he would see a couple of these shapes crash into each other and create a firework-like effect.
Naruto loved watching these shapes at night then tending to flowers that there planted in the graveyard by day. Nobody in Konoha knew who the secret gardener was at the graveyard, but it was the only place when Naruto knew the villagers would give him words of thanks, because they would never know who they were thanking…
“BEEP…BEEP….BEEP”
“Not now….” Naruto mumbled several hours later, the sun had risen about two hours previous, Naruto groaned yet again his back was sore and now he had to get ready for school. He glanced at his calendar and mumbled “Fuck school…” he stopped going to class about a year ago, he had been teaching himself with various scrolls and his class textbooks, teaching himself seemed to be much easier then having some teacher that hated you, he was enrolled at the academy, all he can to do really was show up on the day of the exam, pass it and he was fine.
“I guess some Ramen…nah I’ll have a proper breakfast for once then I’ll tend to the gardens have lunch, train, dinner, stargaze a little bit, then go to bed.” He planed his day out loud, having no one to talk to, but he was used to it, not having a single friend during the fifteen years of his life, it was only this year were he actually gave up on making friends, even if he did make a friend, he was scared of losing them, he didn’t know why, but he just was.
Besides, everyone knew that at this point in life, everyone goes after the ‘cool boys’ but in the end the ‘nice guys’ become the winners. At least, that’s what her mother told her when she asked why everyone seems to go after the cool kids at school. It made sense…slightly. But underneath the mask she used at school she was looking for that ‘nice guy’ that would hopefully stay with her longer then any ‘cool boy’ would.
“He lives in this building?” she checked the sheet of parchment that Iruka had given her earlier, there is no way in hell that he’s the one with all of those potted plants on the balcony is there?!” she shouted out loud catching the attention of an elder woman that was walking out of the same building that she was looking at.
“Can I help you dear?” the woman asked her.
“I’m…yes…I’m looking for a boy named Uzumaki Naruto, I’m his classmate Haruno Sakura. I was told that he lives in this apartment complex, is that correct obaa-san?”
“Uzumaki Naruto?” the woman repeated, before a warm smile appeared on her face. “What a fine young lad he his, loves to garden, see that one balcony at the top with all of those flowers?” Sakura nodded “That’s his; everybody in this building thinks that he is the famous ‘Secret Gardener’ in the Konoha graveyard; because the only other ninja gardeners are the…”
“Yanamakas…” Sakura finished. “Thank you Obaa-san.” Sakura bowed before entering the building. “Uzumaki Naruto…been skipping school since day one…his history is unknown, all that’s released is that his mother died at childbirth and his father disappeared during the Kyuubi attack” she repeated to herself for the tenth time since Iruka kicked her out of class.
When she finally made it up to he apartment on the seventh floor and knocked on the door. “The boy better be home.” She listened intently and heard the sound of a sliding door slam shut someone growling smashing into a table and the feeling of a large chakra signature approach her.
“Who is it?” an irritated voice answered and the door, Sakura, for the first time saw the face of Uzumaki Naruto, whisker markings and all…maybe he will be the ‘nice boy’ that her mother likes to talk about when it comes to the topic of finding and keeping love.
“Uhh…” Sakura was lost for words, it wasn’t Naruto’s looks, but the chakra pressure alone, she had never felt anything like that before! “I mean. I’m Haruno Sakura, your classmate from the Academy, Iruka-sensei sent me to get you today.” She sighed “I’m sure you’re well aware that you’ve missed everyday of school since it has started.”
Naruto scanned Sakura over “You’re not even the class rep. why the hell are you here? I’m not going to school until the day of the exam.” Naruto growled and started to close the door, something in Sakura snapped and she shoved her foot in the door the wood slammed into her foot causing her to grunt at the sudden shock. “Look Uzumaki, Iruka-sensei wants you in class today; the exam is in two weeks he doesn’t even know your skill level.” Sakura growled.
“I know that, tell Iruka-sensei that I WILL come to class the day of the freaking exam, no sooner then that. I don’t care if I’ll be dead last in the freaking class, and that I’ll probably be stuck with the ‘Rookie of the Year’ who’s probably some emo kid that’s had his family assassinated by his brother who is now some runaway ninja!” Naruto shouted through the crack in the door. Sakura sneered and forced the door open causing Naruto to fall back.
“Nobody likes me when I’m mad…now I’m mad.” She towered over the quivering boy, “I’m going to give you twenty-two hours, tomorrow, before class starts I’ll be knocking on this door, and you better be ready to go.” She had a menacing look on her face that could even cause a new Chuunin to shake in their shoes.
“Y-yes….Sakura-sama…” Naruto mumbled, but like hell he was going to class tomorrow, he was going to be hiding in the graveyard…unless some ungodly force forces him to go to class tomorrow.
“Good...” Sakura growled and turned on heel. “By the way, what a beautiful garden you have out on your balcony.” She grinned and walked away.
“Scary…” Naruto muttered...before checking the clock “Screw lunch…I’ll need to practise my clone technique…stupid thing…”
“Sorry Iruka-sensei, he refused to come.” Sakura said if her head hung slightly. “He seems to be a nice kid, however he clearly stated that he will show up until the day of the exam, not caring if he is dead last in the class. Then he went on to predict that he’d end up with Sasuke-kun on the three-man team.”
“That is true, Sakura.” Iruka said, most of the female population expressed a sound of surprise, Sakura rolled her eyes at the class’s reaction, it should be common knowledge that the top of the class would be paired up with the bottom of the class and also the person in the middle, she had pretty much figured out what team she’d be on, either with Ino, Sasuke or Luna, the class president.
“Anyway, I have a feeling that he’ll be in class tomorrow or the next day.” She grinned before returning to her seat.
“Alright class, let us continue our topic about the Thee Great Spirits…”
“Hey Kyuubi! I thought you were the legendary Kyuubi, the Nine-Tailed fox spirit, where the hell is all your power!” two streaks of light smashed into each other, one red and the other blue. One seemed to be trying to start a conversation with its enemy. “Gemini is much stronger then you!”
“Shut the FUCK up Cygnus!” the other light ‘Kyuubi’ shouted. “I told you for the thousandth time. My power was sealed when I was alive! All you are fighting is the remains of my base spirit!”
“That’s a crap lie if you ask me. Now, hand over the key!” Cygnus responded. Kyuubi growled and smashed into the enemy light, there was an explosion and the two were forced back. One into space and the other onto earth…
“What is that?” Naruto stood up suddenly as he watched two lights smash into each other, rebound and smash into each other again. “It’s almost like they are fighting each other.” He took off the glasses he was wearing and stared at the night sky, nothing, he put the glasses back on “So it’s not some ninja clash…ahh wait…” Naruto muttered as the red one came closer to him, he started to feel his chakra spike and his left hand froze over he took a step back as the night sky began to brighten “It’s coming this way!”
The red light slammed into him and there was an eruption of light, he screamed out in surprised before the bright world around him began to darken…he started to feel a little dizzy before he collapsed on the ground.
“It’s good to be home…I have returned finally, Uzumaki Naruto…”
