CHAPTER 1

TWO-BIT POV

My plane had just landed about an hour ago, but I was still at the airport. I was still in shock about what I had herd over the phone three days ago. How could I do this? How come she didn't let me know?

FLASHBACK

I had just walked into my apartment in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and was about to go take my shower for the morning when my phone rang.

' Werid,' I thought. I don't give anyone my house number. Only my cell phone. (this is the year 2008)

"Hello?" I asked the caller.

"Is this Kieth Mathews?" The female voice asked.

"Yeah, who is this." I asked confused.

"I'm calling on the behalf of Lexsey Moore, your children's mother. I'm sorry to say, but she has just recently passed away and if you don't come to Tulsa, Oklahoma to claim your kids, they will be put into social services." The lady said.

My eyes widen in shock. My children? There must be some mistake. I'm not a father. It was then I relized that I wasn't breathing and had to take several deep breaths.

"M-my k-k-kids? There must be some mistake." I say, my face loosing it's color.

"I'm sorry sir, but it says right here that Kieth Matthews is the father of both seventeen year olds Mickey Kieth Matthews and Mini Lenn Matthews." The Lady said before saying bye.

I had gotton my ticket two days later and had left right away, quitting my job. I couldn't believe it. Lexsey Moore. The only girl I ever truely loved had my children and never told me. Was this why she broke up with me eighteen years ago? Was she pregnant and scared to tell me?

END OF FLASHBACK

I got up and headed towards the exit, finally deciding to leave and see everyone for the first time in eighteen years. I hadn't kept in touch with them, sadly, but I'm sure if I had I would have known about Mickey and Mini a whole lot sooner.
