I stared at the ceiling with a deep frown and sighed. 'What to do today? What to do?'
The reason for my immobility was the pummeling of rain thanks to two massive thunder cells colliding over my house. It's a curse, I tell you! A curse, a sign the people/person above who rule(s) don't like me!
I rolled over and nuzzled my soft pillow affectionately, humming and imitating my favorite animal known as the feline. I sat up, ignoring the thunder's growl of warning. The power had gone out long ago-which really narrowed my options, to my annoyance. 'Too bad there's no such thing as magic. I would sign up to be a mage right now.'
The computer held email, youtube, allpoetry. com, fanfiction, fictionpress, and more options I craved for every day. And it was OFF! My scientific-mathematic younger brother forced me to turn off my computer after a severe order from my mother. The T.V. was kept off due to precautions, barring me from any show to pass the time. I was missing the Black Cauldron and the Mummy!
I had no boyfriend, considering:
a) I'm not the dating type (despite I'm a sophmore)
b) I'm a nerd, a geek, a nobody (.)
c) I'm too shy or sarcastic for any guy to handle
d) My parents never explained how I could have a boyfriend and the whole concept of him coming over, leaving me clueless on what to do.
My younger sister, Riana, however is the school's 'prostitute'. Okay, so I voted her that and dubbed her that but she's a freshman. She's a whiny blond who simply must have everything she sees, adores jewelry or anything shiny and new, and has a crowd of boys that stalk her around the school!
My younger brother claims girls have no hold on him, but I always catch him conversing with a certain black haired female whose name I have yet to find out. Maybe I would stalk her later to find out...Yeah, I like stalking. It's a habit. They never know either.
I sighed on this powerless, dark, boyfriendless day with nothing to do but listen to my iPod. Why do I hesitate? I fell asleep listening to it last night and it didn't turn off, resulting in a low battery. Curse my metallic cerulean Nano! I let my iPod lull me to sleep and this outcome happens often...with the exception of thunderstorms.
I went through a list of other minor things that amused me. It was too dark to read and we couldn't waste the flashlight batteries according to my mom. There was no light for me to play solitaire and no one would be in the mood for a good card game of Speed...I would kill myself if I attempted any pranks. 'Shame. Oh well.'
I had no cell phone much to my eternal shame...my friends lived on the other side of town...I had no 'friends' here, only people I knew and I didn't know their numbers and the phones were dead. I nearly screamed with frustration. I would even do my homework if the situation permitted I'm so bored! I wondered what my favorite book character would do in this situation...probably light some candles and study or review his magic lessons due to the Curse of the Magi...'Visiting him would be nice.'
I stared at the door as it creaked ominously with deliberate slowness. Would I get my wish?
