Liar
A/N: Ah, I don’t normally write POTC fan fiction. I’ve done one, but it’s Elizabeth/Jack. I’m just testing it out; I’m not sure if I really like Pirates fics—maybe I should just stick to Star Wars! Please review, they are enjoyed. Wow, I know it's short, but 'size matters not'.
Even from the beginning, I never did…
He saved me from drowning. Probably only because I was wearing that terrible dress from France—it made my waist look ever so tiny. He could probably see that from far away; feast his eyes on a pretty woman, nevertheless. I was grateful for him, then—but not now. The compass shouldn’t have pointed towards him…
I love Will, right? Never could I love a pirate like Jack—a pirate whose heart is pumping rum instead of blood—never. He had never called himself a liar, but most people on board assumed it. Jack always had these elaborate plans.
They all led back to his wit, Elizabeth assumed.
She couldn’t see herself with Jack. And that was the end of the story. He was a liar, regardless of what anybody said on the Black Pearl.
So, now, she stands there, clutching the cuffs that she swiped from the main galley, trying to convince herself that it was the right choice to leave Jack here.
‘It a Captain’s duty to go down with the ship,’ she told herself, over and over. The words echoed in her head. ‘It’s the right thing…’
She paused, and stared at the cuffs wondering—no, she was going to. There would be time for regrets later. ‘You’re the liar, Elizabeth Swann,’ she said again, almost mockingly.
