Tabitha Steven’s aged 5 and a half was helping her mother Samantha Steven’s prepare lunch by handing her mother the different things she needed, such as a fork, bread and so on.

“Good girl Tabitha” encouraged Samantha “You are such a big help to me”

“Really mummy?” asked Tabitha

“You certainly are” said Samantha who then smiled and bent down to kiss her daughter.

(RING RING)

“Oh dear just as we were starting to have fun” said Samantha “Now Tabitha don’t do anything more when I’m away”

“Okay mummy” replied the little girl

“That’s my girl” Samantha said, then leaving to answer the phone.

The mystery caller was Maple O’Leary, who Samantha had not talked to for 2 month’s as she was visiting her son in France as he had just become a Doctor, Samantha had been on the phone for 15 minutes and when Tabitha went to get her mother off the phone, her mother told her she would be in shortly and to be patient. After waiting for 20 minutes Tabitha decided she would prove how big she was and finish cutting the tomato her mother had started, Samantha was just about to ask when she was flying back when Samantha heard a scream and seconds later in came a crying Tabitha showing her mother her cut finger. When Samantha saw the finger she quickly ended the phone by saying she must be going and promising to have lunch with Maple when she returned, now her full attention was on her daughter and her cut her finger.

“Alright sweetheart” said Samantha while she carried the crying child into the kitchen and set her down on the draining board; after she sat the crying child down she turned the faucet on cold water of course.

“Now Tabitha I need you to be a big girl and put you’re finger under the cold water” Samantha explained Tabitha “It will stink but it will clean the cut so it doesn’t get infected”

“Can you do that for mummy?” added Samantha

“Yes mama” said Tabitha has she had calmed down a bit

“That’s my girl” said Samantha who then smiled and kissed her daughter on the forehead “Now stay here and wash you’re finger while I get the first aid kit”.

When Samantha left she heard her daughter give a small yelp when her finger hit the cold water,

“Owie, Owie” cried Tabitha has her finger hit the water, her mother came back with first aid kit shortly.

“Let me see you’re finger sweetheart” asked her mother and of course Tabitha showed her mother her finger, Samantha looked at the child’s finger and concluded that the cut was minor, but she couldn’t help her self she had to tease Tabitha.

“Oh dear the doctor will have to cut you’re finger off” teased Samantha

“What!” cried Tabitha “Why?”

“Because it is infected” explained Samantha “The water must have been added to late”

“Oh No!” exclaimed Tabitha who then stated to cry,

“Oh Sweetheart” cried Samantha when she noticed her daughter cry “I was only joking”

“Y..You were?” sobbed Tabitha

“Yes I was” Samantha said “now lets but a plaster on that cut then you can tell me what happened”

After Samantha put a plaster on the finger she kissed her daughters forehead then carried her to the living room and sat her on Samantha’s lap while Samantha sat on the sofa.

“Now how did you cut you’re finger” asked Samantha

“I…I don’t want to tell you” Mumbled Tabitha as she looked at the ground

“What was that” asked Samantha as she tilted Tabitha’s chin upwards so there eye’s met “Look me in he eye when you are speaking to me”

“I don’t want to tell you” answered Tabitha

“Why not sweetheart” asked Samantha this time more concerned

“Because you will get angry” finished Tabitha “Maybe even spank me”

“Well we won’t know unless you tell me will we now please tell me” begged Samantha hugging her daughter.
