Chapter One: Day I Met You

"Listen up!" Shouted a beautiful young girl with red hair as she pointed to all the people in front of her, "my name is Kushina Uzumaki and I'm going to kick every single one of your asses!"

Kushina smirked as the people in front of her glared at her hard. She was a foreigner and she wasn't making a good impression of the people of the Fire Country nor the other countries.

"Kushina!" Shouted one of her pissed off teammates.

"What? It's nice to know the name of the person who's going to defeat you," Kushina smirked.

"Such confidence. But instead of speaking with your words why not speak with your actions?" Asked her other teammate.

Kushina put on a pout, "oh shut up you two!"

They only chuckled at her, Kushina didn't get along with her two teammates very well since they were just placed as genin. But she was ready to be a chunin now.

They had just got done with the the second part of the exam and she had moved onto the finals, Kushina wore a smirk as she left with her hands behind her head. She had done great and didn't have a problem with boasting about it.

Kushina was thirteen and from the Land of the Whirlpool, she was a female ninja and was in Konoha taking the Chunin exams. So far she had done well, though she did have a problem in the second part. When she was in the Forest of Death.

'If he hadn't saved me...I might've died...'

Kushina jumped from tree to tree her arm was in so much pain. Earlier her team had split up to search the area but along the way she got into a fight with enemy ninja and got a poison needle thrown at her. It had peirced the skin of her right arm.

'Damn...I have to get to my teammates...maybe they can...ah!'

Kushina fell from the tree and landed in a bush.

"Argh! Today is just not my day!" She whinned out as she sat up and winced from the pain

"Are you alright?" Came a voice.

"Huh?" Kushina looked up and was startled to see a young blond haired boy standing in front of her. He was the same age as her but she noticed that he was above genin level right away.

"Uh...well..."

'He's a Konoha ninja...why's he worrying about me? Unless...it's a trap!'

Kushina pulled away when the boy reached for her arm.

"I'm fine!" She claimed as she grabbed her arm and covered up the mark.

The man only smiled at her and reached in his pouch, "I don't think so...that poison is running through your vains...you have to get it out if you plan on surviving through this test..."

"Wha...I..."

"Here let me see your arm," his smile was gentle and kind and for some reason Kushina felt as though she could trust this boy dispite the fact that they were from different Countries.

"O...okay..." Kushina said with a slight blush as she gave her arm to him.

The boy got out some ointment for her arm and rubbed it on the wound. It burned and stung causing Kushina to wince and curse.

"Damn boy!"

The boy only chuckled, "be strong...the pain won't last..."

"Hm...I know that...so what are you a chunin? Cause I noticed your vest..."

"Ah...no I'm a Jonin..."

"Wha-! You're a Jonin! But you...you're no older than me!" Kushina shouted forgetting about the pain in her arm, "so hey if you're a Jonin...what are you doing out here?"

"My students are taking this exam...I'm on my way to the tower to meet them," the young man smiled.

"Oh...I see..." Kushina looked down.

'I can't believe someone from Konoha is a Jonin at the age of thirteen...we don't have things like that in our country...is it because we are inferior?'

"Everyone grows at their own pace...no point worrying about it," the boy said as if reading her thoughts.

When Kushina looked up at him he smiled down at her before saying he had to get moving. She thanked him for the ointment he had rubbed on her and given her and watched him leave.

"Kushina!" Shouted one of her teammates.

She looked over to see them both coming towards her and she quickly put the ointment in her poutch the blush never fading off her face as she thought the boy was hot.

"Hm? Kushina? Hell must have frozen over...are you blushing!" Asked on of her teammates.

"Sh-shut up!" Kushina shouted as she kicked him in the shin.

"What's up Kushina? You hardly ever blush...or do anything else normal girls do...such a tomboy..." mumbled her other teammate but he quickly shut up when she gave him the coldest look he had ever seen.

"Come on ladies! We got two more days!" Kushina said as she moved forward.

"Hai..."

Kushina stopped walking, 'hm...I never even got to know his name either...'

Sighing she looked over to see a ramen shop.

"Ah! This place has ramen! Oi! I am so there!" Kushina said jumping for joy as she ran to the shop, "ramen ramen ramen ramen! Ah-!" Kushina crashed into someone but before she could hit the ground an arm wrapped around her back and kept her from falling.

Kushina blinked a few times and when she looked up she was so surprised. There he was, the boy who saved her ass in the chunin exams.

"You..."

"Are you okay?" He asked as he helped her on her feet.

"You...you're that...that man from the forest..." Kushina said in a daze as she stared at him.

"Oh, yes! I'm glad to see that you've passed!" The boy smiled, "so what are you doing now?"

"Ah...I'm uh...going to eat some ramen..." Kushina blushed.

'Argh...what's wrong with me! My hearts pounding in my chest so hard...'

"Ramen, huh? Hm...how about I buy you a bowl as congradulations on passing the second exam!" The boy offered.

"Huh! Really! Don't toy with my emotions!" Kushina threatned and he just laughed.

"I'm not, I'm not!" He laughed putting his hands up in the air.

"Alright! Wish my sensei would take us out sometime! He just said, pass...then left! He's so anti-social!" Kushina complained as she and the boy took a seat and ordered what kind of ramen they'd like. Kushina ordered pork flavored and the boy the same.

"So what's your name anyway?" Kushina asked.

"My names Minato Namikaze, and you?"

"Kushina Uzumaki! The best female ninja ever! I'm gonna make Tsunade-hime look like a chimp!" Kushina smirked.

"Ha ha! That's some dream," Minato laughed.

"Oh I am I am! I'm going to be the strongest female ninja ever in history!" Kushina winked at him.

"I bet you will..."

After that they ate their ramen talking about food and how Kushina used to play practical jokes on people before she became a genin and about how her teammates are no fun.

Minato said a few things about his own team which consisted of Kakashi Hatake, Obito Uchiha, and a girl named Rin. They were only six years old and already participating in the chunin exams which surprised her but even more so when she found out they had all passed the first and second.

"Well I have to go now...I'll see you later maybe?" Minata said as he waved goodbye.

"Yeah...bye..." Kushina really didn't want him to go. She felt so alone in this village and he was the only Konoha ninja who she had any contact with.

"Ah! What's wrong with me! Hey old man! I want another bowl!" Kushina shouted.

"Coming up!"

Just so you know they won't be thirteen through the whole story. I am basing Kushina on Naruto since in the manga it was said that Naruto got his personality from his mom.
