When you're six years old, and in a foster home/ orphanage, you can't exactly say that life is beautiful. I'm probably the only kid here who says that. 'Xept maybe my friend Gracie; Gracie is 13, and in the older kids house, but she plays with me anyways.

"You know what I wanna do when I get outta here?" Gracie asked me.

"What?"

"I wanna go buy a pretty dress from that snazzy store in the Plaza. The one that Santa is always at during Christmas Season? And, and I wanna go to a Broadway show," Gracie told me. Leave it to Gracie to use a world like 'snazzy'. She told me that she lived with this really old couple once; like old grandma and grandpa old, with grey hair and wrinkles. Said they used all of those kinds of words.

"Why?" I ask Gracie.

"I went to one once with my Mom, back when she was better. The ladies were so gorgeous in their outfits, and the men dashing in their snappy tuxes," Gracie exclaimed, emphasizing certain words. Gracie would make a GREAT actress.

"That sounds fun," I reply.

"What would you do?" Gracie asks me, with real interest. She is the only person I know who can always sound really, really nice.

"I would go to Melody Sounds, and get a really pretty guitar. And a book, too. A new guitar way better than the old instruments that Mister Mills gave to us waaaay before we came," I told Gracie.

Gracie smiled, "You and that guitar." Gracie was the only person I knew who could say that without rolling her eyes.

"So...?"

"Show me the picture, again, Mishy!" Gracie exclaims. Gracie loves sparkly stuff.

I take the torn picture out of my worn overalls' pocket, and hand the picture to Gracie.

Gracie gasps.

I don't say anything.

Here, where everyone has the same tragic stories and knows everyone else's stories, sometimes it's nice to have a different story that you can just keep to yourself.

"They look so sad, but so glamorous," She says. "Jude and Tommy. Jude 19th B- Day, January 27, 2008." She reads.

It's a picture from the chest up of a blonde woman with light blue eyes, and brown haired man with ocean blue eyes. They both have on what some might consider smiles, but there are tears coming down their cheeks. Or it might just be the messy ink from my crying.

Gracie wraps her arm around my shoulder.

"I shouldn'tuve said that," she says.

"S'okay," I reply.

"It's not," Gracie says, and I believe her. I believe everything that Gracie says, because she's really smart. Smarter than anyone else I know.

Gracie then stops, and sighs.

"Someone wants to adopt me," Gracie says really fast, so I don't really hear her.

"Wha-- what?" I stutter.

"They wanna adopt me," Gracie says again.

"Bu- but you can't leave Gracie!" I shout.

"I won't. I don't wanna be adopted by a stinky family. Especially since you can't come with me," Gracie states.

"But NOBODY want'sta adopt to old girls. Everyone wants babies," I told Gracie, when an idea came to me.

"What?" Gracie demanded to know.

"We could find 'em!" I told my best friend.

"Who?"

"My parents!" I exclaimed. "They would adopt both of us!"

Gracie gave me a funny look.

"Why would they want to?" Gracie asks me, her eyes wide open.

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Why else would they leave a picture?" I say back.

"But NOBODY wants us!" Gracie exclaimed. "That's why we're here!"

"But maybe they will..." I whispered.

Gracie keeps giving me a weird look, but I give her a look back.

"I bet'cha got that look from ure daddy," Gracie told me without even thinking about it.

"Why'd ya say that?" I asked.

"I dunno. But they say everybody gets their personality from somewhere. And when we find your parents, I bet you that your Daddy will have that same look."

I smiled widely.

"So, we can go?" I ased Gracie excitedly.

Gracie looked at me with a grown- up look.

"Yes."

"Thank you, Gracie!" I smile.

Gracie looks back at me, a small smile appearing on her small lips.

"Yeah, and don't forget that it was you who made this idea up. Because isn't going to simple."

A/ N: Yes, I have started yet another story. But I just couldn't help myself. What do you guys think of this idea? Any feedback would be REALLY, REALLY appreciated! Thanks!

PS: In this story, Jude and Tommy are four or five years apart.
