I will avenge him, a Zelda fanfic.
Ch.1:Calm before the storm.
A/n. this is My first Zelda fic. Flames not appreciated. Constructive criticism is welcome.
This is the new Zelda, long after Windwaker, (Modern time, although guns had never been invented so people still use swords and shields) but in the same area. Twilight princess Graphics, windwaker setting.
I do not own the rights to Zelda or anything connected or affiliated with said game in any way. Those rights belong to Nintendo(Lucky bastards) (Kidding)
Legend has it that whenever evil has appeared a boy named Link has risen to defeat it. This is a legend of one such boy. He was born sickly, frail, and weak. He was 14 on the day he discovered his purpose: To defend the world from the evils that were soon to rise. This time, Ganon was not after the Triforce. No, he was after something else. Something even more dangerous. Something, to defeat the master sword.
All was peaceful on the Great Sea, the seagulls were flying and screeching to each other. The children of Windfall island were getting out of school for the summer, and everybody was generally happy
Everybody that is, but one person. Link was a rather frail, sickly boy of fourteen. A newly discovered kind of disease kept him from getting stronger, and he had recently gotten worse. His normally light blonde hair had turned completely white and his blue eyes had recently lightened to near the same color as his hair. He looked almost albino.
So much so that he could no longer even attend school, and was forced to lie in bed day after day watching TV and being home-schooled while the other children were out playing. Hi mother, father, and sister Shey had all been very supportive of him, but it burned him up that he could not be the one thing he wanted to be most.
That was normal. Yes, he just wanted to be an ordinary kid. While many ordinary youngsters his age dreamed of becoming soldiers, He just dreamed of being, well, an ordinary youngster.
People had tried everything to cure him, the strongest potions, physical therapy, modern medicine, even magic, but none seemed to work. Some did seem to darken his hair a bit and return a slight amount of color to his white-as-a-sheet skin, but that was short-lived however, for within minutes, the disease took control again.
Link cherished those moments when the magic, potions, etc. gave him enough strength to walk, but they were becoming shorter and shorter every time.
The doctors said it was because he was building up an immunity to all the temporary fixes they had been giving him.
They also said that that if things continued on this way, they did not expect him to live to the age of eighteen.
Link’s best friend, Terrence, had been sneaking Link out at night in a wheelchair so they could talk together in the fresh air. Link couldn’t admit it since he had always thought he was straight, but he was beginning to develop a crush on Terrance.
He kept telling himself that it was probably just the fact that Terrence was being so nice to him, and yet the boy couldn’t help but realize that he blushed when his sixteen year old friend picked him up silently and with surprising ease to put him in the wheelchair in the dead of night.
The wheelchair….. It had been the first reason Link had started to fall for Terrance.
Terrance had spent a whole month working on it. Welding it and designing it by hand so that it was easy for Link to move around with, even in his weakened state. It was immaculate, and the cushions were so soft that he sometimes found himself sleeping I them instead of his own bed. That was how he knew Terrance cared. Nobody, outside of his family had ever done as much to make him feel comfortable with the draining disease as Terrance did.
Link didn’t know what he would do if he ever lost Terrance.
He didn’t know it, but for him, loss would soon mean gain.
