Rain.

It’s the one constant in this grey existence.

I told Martha. About the war. How I lost the most important person in my entire life. All nine-hundred and twenty-five years of it. She didn’t understand. I didn’t expect her to. She said I should have moved on. It’s been two years.

I can hear her laughter now as Jack chases her about the Tardis. Carefree. She doesn’t know pain like I know it. Odd. Never would thought she was his type.

Rose has her family. She’ll recover she’ll adapt. Here I am. Same old life, saving the world. I should be happy.

The skies are blue outside, not a cloud in sight.
