Uchiha Brothers One Shot Series
Chapter One: First Training Of The Day
Little Sasuke has been very disappointed by his brother’s behaviour the last couple of weeks. Every morning before breakfast he had asked his brother to train with him. But the answer was always the same to his dismay: ‘No little brother, I am busy and I have no time for your fun and games.’ And so he left every time without another word.
But Sasuke knew that today was going to be different. He could just feel it. He got out of his bed. After dressing himself quickly, he opened the door to his older brother’s room. He was going to ask him the same question once more.
"Nii-san, are you already awake.” He asked softly, not wanting to wake his brother up if he was still asleep.
Itachi slowly opened one of his eyes to see his younger brother standing in the door opening, looking at him with puppy dog eyes. "Sasuke, what time is it ?'' Itachi asked with a slight frown on his face.
Sasuke walked into the dark room, with a smile adorning his face now. "Its past seven, nii-san, why?"
The older one of the Uchiha brothers opened both eyes now, before sitting up in the small bed. Turning to the raven haired boy, he glanced at him with a confused expression on his face "What are you up to, little brother?'' Giving the boy a little glare, he waited for the boy to respond to his question.
Sasuke in turn gave his brother a sweet smile, while he softly said: "Uhm, nii-san, I wanted to ask you to train with me. Please don’t say that you are too busy…'' His gaze never wandered, looking at his brother with pleading eyes.
Itachi smiled softly and he ruffled his little brother’s black hair. "Sasuke, tell you what, we will train together today, but only if you promise me to do your very best. Is that a promise?'' Knowing the reaction he was going to get, he waited for the answer to come, wanting to hear it from the little boy himself.
"Sure, I promise, nii-san" Sasuke replied smiling brightly.
"Itachi, Sasuke, dinner is ready." Mikoto gently said as she walked past the dark bedroom. She had already woken up before any of her boys, making fresh baked bread. She was preparing her youngest son's lunch.
The older of the two turned to the younger one with a soft smile on his face. "Come along now, Sasuke. We will talk some more about this later, alright?”
"Sure nii-san…” Sasuke replied, while pouting. He wanted to train as fast as possible.
Both brothers made their way to the living room to go eat breakfast. They both had a big smile on their faces, as they did so.
The two Uchiha brothers walked into the room, heading towards the table on which breakfast was served. "Good morning, mother…'' Itachi said, before sitting down on the chair next to his father, who was busy reading the newspaper.
Sasuke made sure to hurry to the dinner table as well, wishing everyone a good morning as he did so.
"Good morning, sons.” Both parents said cheerfully at the same time.
The black haired woman walked over to the youngest of the boys and gave him a soft smile. "Sasuke, don’t forget your lunch now, sweetie."
The boy returned the smile, before swallowing the bread he was chewing on. "I won’t, mom" Taking another bite of his sandwich, he stood up, ready to go to class.
"I am going to go to school now! Goodbye, mom, dad and nii-san" Sasuke said as he put on his shoes.
His mother gave him a smile, before walking over to him in order to give him his lunch. "Goodbye Sasuke. Have a good day at the academy."
"Do your best son study hard and keep getting those good grades.” His father said with a serious look on his face.
The raven haired boy nodded with a small smile on his face. "I will do my best, father." Waving, he walked out of the house, closing the door behind him.
Mikoto walked to the window as she saw her son walking towards the academy. The boy was growing up so fast and she wouldn’t have it any other way. The boy had disappeared out of sight before she knew it. "My my, he sure is going to be one great ninja one day." The black haired woman exclaimed smiling.
Sasuke almost skipped all the way to the academy. Skipping as a boy at his age was pretty weird, but he was just feeling so happy at the moment that he didn’t care what anyone thought of him. The only thing he was thinking of was the news his brother had told him in the morning. His brother was finally going to train him!
As he arrived at the academy, he seated himself in the school bank closest to the teacher. He was going to make his parents proud by being the best in class. He still had that wide smile on his face as well, showing how cheerful he was.
Iruka finally walked into the classroom and he started welcoming all of the young kids that were coming in one by one. The scarred man looked around and when he saw that one of his talented students was smiling brightly, he made his way over to the boy, curious as to why the boy was in such a good mood.
The man placed a hand on the boy’s shoulder, while he gave him a soft smile. "Sasuke, you look really happy today. Did something good happened this morning?''
The black haired boy nodded. "Yes nii-san is going to train with me this afternoon. I just can’t wait. I’ve been dreaming about this day for a long time. Now I can finally show him what I’m made of!"
"Well then, work hard today and before you know it school is over and you can start the training. How does that sound?" He gave the little boy a quick wink before leaving.
After class was over, Sasuke almost flew home. He just wanted to get home as fast as possible.
"I am home" He cheerily said, running into the living room, only to find his mother cleaning some dishes, while his father was reading a book.
"Welcome home, son.'' His father said as he smiled just a little, but Sasuke could see that he was happy to see him.
"How was your day, sweetie?'' Mikoto asked as she urged him to sit down.
The boy did as he was told and sat down on the chair. "It was alright. The lessons today were so easy. I don’t know why they don’t make these lessons a little bit harder. It’s getting boring.” He then gave his mother a soft smile. “So may I go outside to practice shuriken throwing?" The raven haired boy didn’t await her reply as he started looking around. "Were is nii-san?''
The black haired woman smiled, before ruffling his hair. "He told me to wait here for him. He will be there for you shortly."
That made the boy smile and he nodded. Mikoto gave him something to drink as she sat down beside him.
Almost one hour had past and Sasuke was still waiting for his older brother to come home The little boy was getting more disappointed by the minute. He knew that his mother had told him to wait, but he knew his brother better. He always stayed away when he promised to train him. Sighing, he lied down on the couch, closing his eyes as he did so.
Mikoto noticed that her son was awfully silent. Looking out of the window, she could still see no sign of her eldest son. She hoped that Itachi wasn’t going to let Sasuke down. That would break the little guy’s heart.
She walked over to the raven haired boy with a soft smile adorning her face. "Sasuke, why don’t you go clean your room. It’s so messy there, that I couldn’t even see through the dust anymore. It looks like your brother is study kind of busy at the moment, so this should keep you mind off of things for a little while."
The young Uchiha grunted, before standing up. He gave his mother a downward look and walked back to his room at a very slow pace, his thoughts still on his brother.
Arriving at the dump known as his room, he laid down on his bed. He didn’t came home so soon to clean up his room. He came here to train! Looking at the ceiling with a big frown on his little face, he wondered why his brother had let him down once again.
He took one of the action figures that was standing on the night desk and threw it at the ground out of anger. "Nii-san, you made me a promise. You were going to train with me. You were going to act like my big brother for once! Just why do you keep on lying, just why do you keep on disappointing me?!”
He just couldn’t understand it anymore. He sat up with widened eyes, when he heard something familiar. Was it him? A small smile came to his sweet face as he got out of his bed, walking towards the door. He slowly opened the wooden door to see if it was really him.
Just as he peeked into the room, he saw the figure of his older brother. What he saw made him one of the happiest boys on the planet for that moment. Running out of his room, he nearly knocked over a vase, but he reacted fast enough to catch the object.
"Nii-san, you’re back!” The raven haired boy exclaimed, running over to his brother. All of his anger was long forgotten as he jumped in his brothers arms.
Itachi smiled when he saw his little brother. He finger flipped the little boy's forehead, before picking him up to place him on his shoulders. "Sasuke, of course I came back to get you. How could I forget our first training session together?''
"Let’s go then!” The younger one of the Uchiha brothers shouted out, raising a fisted hand in the sky. He sounded very happy again.
Their parents smiled, when they saw that those two were being so close and friendly towards each other.
Itachi gave his mother a soft smile as he opened the front door. This was his way of saying goodbye. He still had his brother on his shoulders, who was kicking with his legs, because he was so excited for his first training session with his brother.
Itachi stepped outside and almost got blinded by the light of the sun that was shining very brightly. He sighed softly as he looked at his younger brother. "Sasuke, hold on tight. I am going to run now. Okay, little brother?''
"Yeah of course, nii-san!” The boy replied, nodding his head. The smile on his face had never left him.
The eldest Uchiha brother smirked as he increased his speed, using chakra in his feet. They were running through the grassy fields before they knew it. The training grounds of the Uchiha clan already almost in view.
Sasuke was smiling all the way there, happily talking about his academy lessons and how easy they were to him. Itachi responded back in a cheerful tune as well. The little raven haired boy couldn’t believe what was going on. His brother was going to train with him and he was even talking to him in a cheery mood. It seemed like a dream sometimes.
Soon the two raven haired boys arrived at the training grounds, which were only to be used by members of the Uchiha clan. It was a wide open field with a small lake at the west side of the area. The area was surrounded by forest, so there were a lot of trees around. It was the perfect place to practice all kinds of jutsus and fighting moves.
Itachi stood still for one moment to let his younger brother climb off his back again. He then turned to the small boy in question with a serious look on his face. "Ok, little brother, what we are going to today is probably one of the easiest things you have learned at the academy.” He then paused, while he showed the raven haired boy one of the shinobi’s most used weapons, a shuriken. He then closed his eyes as he continued. “But I am going to teach you some new moves with this kind of weapon, that they don’t teach you at that place.”
Sasuke had been listening with big eyes the whole time, not making a sound at all. He was leaning against a tree, listening to what his brother was explaining to him. His face was very serious, showing how much he wanted to learn from his big brother.
"There are many ways to use a single shuriken in battle. You can use them as a way to scare enemies; you could use them as a distraction; but you can use them as an offensive weapon as well.” He then paused to show his brother the shuriken from up close. “There are a lot of ways to throw these weapons, but most of these moves are still too difficult for you, little brother.”
He quickly continued as he saw the disappointed look on his brother’s face. He patted the boy on the head with a smirk on his face. "But one move is easy enough to teach you on our first day of training."
The boy took out a second shuriken as he jumped up into the air. The older of the two then aimed for two boards that were hanging in the nearby trees, before he closed his eyes. Before Sasuke could even blink, both of the shuriken were placed in the middle of the boards.
Sasuke blinked, before looking up again. They were really there! Quickly running over to his brother, he gave him a big smile. "Wow, nii-san, that's so awesome!” Sasuke nearly screamed, looking at his brother in awe.
Itachi walked towards his brother and placed one hand on top of his head. "Sasuke, here, try it yourself.” He said calmly, handing the small boy two shuriken.
The young Uchiha gave Itachi a confused look. "But nii-san, I can't aim that well yet…"
"Just believe in yourself, bro, you’ll do just fine. Trust me.” The pony-tailed boy replied as he turned around.
The young boy sighed. "Alright, if you say so…” The boy said as he jumped into the air, before throwing his shuriken at the two boards.
One of the shuriken flew past the board, hitting the tree, but the other one was placed next to the shuriken his brother had thrown earlier. Sasuke looked at the board and he started cheering, when he saw that the shuriken he had thrown was right to the one of his brother. He was the happiest boy in Konoha for that mere second.
"Well done, little bro." Itachi said ruffling his raven hair softly, being proud on his brother for hitting the target. His aim was already far better than he had expected.
After another hour of shuriken practice, Itachi thought it was time to head back home. It was becoming dark outside already and he noticed that his brother was getting very tired. He turned to the raven haired boy with a content look on his face. "Sasuke, come on, time to head back home.”
The boy nodded and came back running towards his brother.
"Come along now.” He said as he picked him up, placing him on his back.
Soon the boy had closed his eyes, being so tired from the training today, leaving Itachi to his thoughts while he slowly walked back home.
