Well, I've been reading a lot of Twilight fanfics lately and I decided I would try writing my own. Thanks for being interested in reading. This takes place after Eclipse. So it's my take on what will happen in Breaking Dawn.
Now, one thing you should know. I never really liked the setting of Twilight. The only thing that drew me in were the characters and their conflicts. I'm much more of a fantasy and other realm girl. XP So, that type of stuff may show up. However, I emphasize the “may” part. I'm not sure what I'll do with this story. I just knew I wanted to write one.
I actually am working on my own vampire romance. It's called Tides of Oblivion and the first two chapters are posted over on fiction press . com. If you like Twilight, you'll probably like my story since Twilight inspired it, so go check it out. My name on fiction press is the same as here, Megami Ryuuzaki. This story might actually turn into a crossover between my original story and Twilight. So you may want to read my story just so you can get a feel for the characters that might show up here.
Anyway, enough of my jabbering. Here's my fic. Enjoy. Oh, and I dislike Jacob because of Eclipse so there will be no BellaxJacob in this. I'm not going to bash the character though. I hate people that do that. I'm just giving you a heads up that he probably won't show up much in this fic. Sorry Jacob fans.
Oh, sorry, one more thing. Lol. I'm not good with first person stories so, I'm attempting this first chapter in first person but that may change if I'm not comfortable with it or think it sucks.

I stared at the ring on my finger, playing with it distractedly. Edward and I were going to be telling Charlie about our engagement. Edward seemed to think it would all go smoothly and wasn't worried even if it didn't. I, on the other hand, couldn't have been more nervous about anything. Edward seemed to sense my apprehension and took one hand from the steering wheel and placed it gently on mine. I looked up at him and he smiled reassuringly. I calmed down for a few moments. I couldn't help but feel dizzy when he looked at me like that. I had forgotten about what we were about to do for a few moments until we pulled up at my house. I was pulled back to reality as I stared at the front door. Charlie's police car was parked in its usual place in the driveway and a light was on in the living room indicating he was probably watching television. I sighed as Edward opened my door for me. I stepped out of the Volvo and had to grad Edward's hand as I wobbled on my feet. He chuckled and squeezed my hand gently.
“Everything will be fine.” He said, smiling down at me.
I nodded and gripped his hand tighter as we walked up to my door. I reached for the handle and looked up at my fiance's face one more time. It gave me courage to see all that love in his eyes and I opened the door with a new found enthusiasm. Unfortunately, that enthusiasm was quickly lost as we entered the living room. Just looking at Charlie made me think of all the different reactions he would have, most of them being bad for Edward and I. I gulped and tentatively waked into the living room with Edward close behind.
“Hey Bells.” Charlie said, his eyes never leaving the tv.
“Ch...er...Dad?”
Charlie looked up from the game.
“Yes?” It was then he noticed Edward, who was smiling politely next to me. “Oh, hello Edward.” he said gruffly.
“Hello Charlie.”
Edward and I walked over to the couch and sat down. I looked at Charlie and he stared back at me, waiting for me to speak. Edward squeezed my hand for the millionth time that afternoon and I took a deep breath.
“Well, dad, there's something Edward and I would like to tell you.”
Charlie's eyes narrowed a bit. He seemed to know what was coming.
“Dad, I really love Edward and well, he asked me to marry him and I...I said yes. We're going to be married this summer.”
Charlie didn't speak for a long time. I was worried he was going to pass out or something. But after a minute or two he spoke.
“Edward. I'd like to speak with my daughter alone. Please go home.” It surprised me. A lot. He was fairly quiet and calm. I didn't know whether to be scared or relieved. Edward nodded and glanced at me, giving me my favorite crooked smile before exiting the house. I heard the Volvo start up and after I could no longer hear his car, my father spoke again. I just stared at the floor quietly, not knowing what to say or what to expect.
“Bella...” Charlie began and I held my breath, waiting for some kind of explosion of anger. It never came. “Are you sure about this?”
That was the last thing I'd expected from him. I looked up at him. He looked tired, worn, and worried. His eyes held a glint of anger, but it was nothing compared to what I had been expecting.
“This isn't a decision you should make hurriedly. Look at what happened to your mother and I.”
I was still stunned. We were having a calm conversation about this. About me getting married. To Edward. The guy who left me as an empty shell for months. The guy my father hated with a passion because of what he had done to me. Yet here we sat, Charlie and I, talking about it like civilized adults instead of overprotective father to too young to be married daughter.
“Yes dad.” I finally found my voice. “I am sure. This is the only thing I've ever been sure of in my entire life.”
Charlie grumbled. I could see he wanted to change my mind, but he held his tongue. It amazed me.
“I don't think I can agree with you Bella.” he finally said after a few moments of silence. “I see how close you two are, but I don't think he's good for you. He might leave you again. I don't want to see my only daughter in the state he left you in ever again. I won't let you make this decision so fast. I can't. I think your mother and I have a say in this too. And I think marrying that boy is a bad idea.”
I felt the tears start to form in my eyes, threatening to pour down my face. He didn't approve.
“Dad...Please...I want you to be there to walk me down that isle.”
Charlie looked at me, obviously hurt by those words.
“I will sweetheart.” he said. “But I just don't think now is the right time nor is Edward the right one for you.”
Now the tears did spill, running down my face like a waterfall of despair and grief. The despair and grief I felt at hearing those words from Charlie. Now I was getting angry at him. I couldn't help it. He didn't know Edward like I did. I stood quickly, my hands balling into tight fists at my side. He had no right to tell me who I could or could not marry. I so desperately wanted his approval, but he had no right to decide who made me happy. That was my decision, certainly not his.
“Fine. You go on thinking that.” I said, failing to hide the anger and sadness in my voice. I didn't care. “Edward makes me happy. I love him. I don't care if you disapprove, I'm going to marry him with or without your consent. I just really hoped you could be happy for me.”
With that I turned and fled up the stairs, ignoring Charlie's pleas for me to come back. I reached my room and slammed the door behind me. Edward was there waiting for me and I fell into his arms, sobbing. I wrapped my arms around his cold waist and held on like I was going to fall if I let go. He held me as tight as he could without hurting me and nuzzled my hair whispering soothing words to me. We stood like that, in the middle of my room, for what seemed like hours. In reality, it had only been about ten minutes before my sobs subsided and my sniffles were all that remained of my heartache. Edward was suddenly gone, but seconds later he returned with a box of tissues. I smiled a little and took one, blowing my nose. I was going to take another to dry my eyes, but Edward beat me to it, using his cold hand to wipe the tears away.
“You should lay down.” Edward said quietly, and I didn't argue.
I lay down on my bed and he lay beside me, holding me to his stone chest almost protectively. I breathed in his sweet scent and slowly calmed down.
“Edward?” I asked, after a few minutes.
“Yes?” he replied quietly.
“What is Charlie thinking?” I know it's kind of rude to prod into someone else's mind, especially when I was asking someone else to do it for me, but I really wanted to know if he was thinking about what I had said.
Edward chuckled. “He's considering your words.” was all he said. I nodded as best I could while pressed against his chest.
I squirmed and he loosened his hold on me. I moved so that I could look into his gorgeous topaz eyes and I smiled. “I've decided. No matter what, I will marry you.” My smile fell away then. “I just hope Charlie and Renee will approve eventually before it happens. I really want them to be there.”
Edward nodded. “I'm sure they will. They're your parents. I'm sure they won't want to miss your wedding, even if Charlie doesn't like the groom.” He chuckled, but I frowned.
“I really wish he'd learn to like you, even just a little.”
“Silly Bella.” Edward said, stroking my hair and smiling down at me, dazzling me once again. “Whatever makes you happy, makes him happy. He's your father after all. He just is worried about you. But what he doesn't realize is that I'm never leaving you again. I will be with you every moment for the rest of eternity.”
The rest of eternity. That made me smile. My wish was coming true. I was going to be married to Edward in a few months and turned into a vampire soon after. And then I would never be apart from my love again. It seemed like nothing could possibly go wrong, not when everything was going so right. Except for the whole Charlie thing. But he'd come around. He had to. Edward kissed the top of my head and stroked my hair.
“I'm eternally yours my sweet Bella.”

I could probably leave this as a one shot huh? Lol. But I don't think I will. At least, I won't if people don't want me to. Please review and let me know if you liked it enough for me to continue. I really love hearing from my readers. It gives me a lot of incentive to write. If I see a lot of people reading, but not reviewing, it makes me think my writing sucked and so I give up. Please review so I don't become discouraged. Please?
