Takagouzawa Hikari-san: Been watching Detective Conan, only seen about 108 episodes, so I’m pretty confident, but not entirely confident in this oneshot. Gosho Aoyama owns DC, not me.

Detective Conan: More Than Friends

Ran’s head was on the glass window as she looked outside, the sun just barely starting to rise, tears staining her cheeks as she cried, the worry that she had stored in her heart for Shinichi poured out in the early morning.

Her silent sobs, though, were not unnoticed.

Conan sat up in his futon, looking at Ran’s teary face.

“Shinichi…where are you? Dammnit, I miss you…You better come home soon…” Ran whispered, tears hitting her blanket.

Conan stood up, putting on his glasses, and climbed onto Ran’s bed.

“Ran-neechan…?” he asked, rubbing his eyes to fake his just getting up.

Ran’s head spun around at Conan and she stared at him for a moment before saying, “Ah, sorry Conan-kun, did I wake you?”

She was partially surprised when Conan’s arms wrapped themselves around her waist.

“Conan-kun…?”

“I’m sure Shinichi-niichan will come back soon, so don’t cry.” Conan answered, tightening his grip on Ran’s waist and hoping he could be back in his original form.

“I hope so, Conan-kun…” Ran replied, hugging Conan back.

Conan began to comfort her before they both fell asleep, Ran’s arms around Conan’s small body.

oOo two days later oOo

Ran was presently sitting at the end of a couch in Mouri Kogorou’s Detective Agency, sighing a bit and wondering where the hell Shinichi was.

Maybe she could call Kazuha and talk about their crazy mystery fans…

All of a sudden the lights went out in the entire neighborhood and Ran heard a lot of people screaming about it when the door opened, revealing a shadow of a person that was very familiar to Ran…

“S-Shinichi? Is that you?” Ran asked, not sure of herself.

“Yeah. The four-eyed kid told me you were crying about me a couple days ago.” In the darkness of the room, Ran could barely make out the mocking grin on the boy’s face.

“Sorry I’m worried about you, Shinichi! Where have you been all this time! Why don’t you come home?! I miss you! I miss you so much!” Ran yelled, tears cascading down her cheeks.

Shinichi walked to the couch and pulled Ran up and into his arms, hugging her.

“I’m sorry, Ran…I’m really sorry…” Shinichi muttered, placing his head in Ran’s hair and smelling it.

“Shinichi…if you were really sorry, you’d be here, at home, instead of chasing that case off to who knows where!” Ran said, crying into Shinichi’s chest.

“Well, Ran, how about this…when I get back…” Shinichi’s face suddenly reddened, Ran noticed. Then he locked eyes with her, even though he was blushing, and she felt her heartbeat stop suddenly and then thump really fast, and she blushed too, but never looking away from Shinichi’s eyes.

“W-When I get back…uh, maybe…m-maybe we can be more than friends…” Shinichi then felt a little bit brave and decided to do one of the most impulsive things he had probably ever done in his 17 years of life.

He bent his head and placed his lips on Ran’s own, Ran’s eyes widening open from the shock. Ran eventually sunk into the kiss, her arms, which were previously on Shinichi’s chest, sliding up his chest and wrapping them around his neck, pulling him down a little.

A moment later, Shinichi pulled away and said, “I’m sorry, again, Ran…I have to go…” and he pecked both her cheeks.

“…I’ll wait for you forever…my mystery otaku and my knight.” Ran whispered, pulling her arms away as Shinichi ran out the door and the lights came back on.

Ran sunk to the floor, her face turning many shades of red, and she covered her face with her hands, just as the door opened and a little boy peeked in.

“Ran-neechan? What’s wrong?” Concern was laced in the little boy’s voice.

“C-Conan-kun!” Ran’s hands fell the floor and she slowly got up, stumbling a bit, before bending down a bit and holding Conan up by his armpits and hugging him, giving him a blush in the process.

“Shinichi…Shinichi…I can’t wait until he comes back!” Ran said happily.

She hugged Conan a bit tighter and said, “Shinichi…I’ll wait forever for you…”

Conan’s eyes darkened a bit but nonetheless

Mouri Kogorou then opened the door and ignored the current scene in front of his door and said, “Oi, Ran, I’m starving! Go make me dinner and bring me a beer too!” He expected a yell from his daughter, but instead…

“Hai!” Ran answered, rushing to the kitchen to begin making dinner.

Kogorou just stood at the side of his desk, his mouth wide open, and Conan just sat on the couch waiting for dinner, his feet dangling.

I swear, Ran, when I do return to my true form, we will be together…I promise. I won’t make you wait forever just for me…’ Conan thought to himself.

-end More Than Friends-

Takagouzawa Hikari-san: So, how was it? If you want to listen to a song during this fic, I’d pick More Than Friends by Yasmeen, that’s a really good song and it inspired this fic…maybe I’ll do some more fics like this…anyway, please review
