Summary: Flora was just a normal girl who loved music, her friends and life. But when one small private performance in the school hallways changes her school and life, what is she to do? It’s a twisted story of life, friends, love and hope no one will end up dead.

Chapter 1

It was morning and a girl of the age of 15 was preparing for school. She had long dark brown hair and blue eyes. She went by the name of Flora Hua. Flora lived by herself with her pet hamster Kasumi in an apartment. She goes to school at Hikari High School. As she was preparing for school, she was dancing and singing to the song Valenti by BoA in her room.

"You really love music don't you Flora?" asked her hamster Kasumi. Kasumi was Flora's pet hamster since Flora was 5. She has white fur with green eyes.

"Of course!" cried out Flora smiling. "Music is so kawaii and soothing. It helps me set a good mood for the day!"

Flora put on a pair of blue jeans and a long light blue shirt.

"Time for school Umi," said Flora. "Take care while I'm gone."

"Hai hai," said Kasumi. "Keep up your work in school. And tell Jaden I said hi!"

Flora blushed and threw a pillow at the hamster before leaving.

At school, Flora was greeted by her friends Ayane and Stella.

"Oh my god Flo, guess what!" screamed her friend Stella. Stella was also 15 years old with wavy brown hair, blonde highlights and brown eyes.

"What?" asked Flora.

"I said 'Guess'!" said Stella.

"Uh...your dad got you a new phone?" asked Flora.

"No," replied Stella.

"Um...Brian asked you out?" asked Flora.

"Not that, but..." Stella stopped and blushed and hit Flora playfully. "Flo! Stop teasing!"

"She'll never guess at this rate Stel," said Ayane. "Just tell her." Ayane was 15 years old as well with mid-length brown hair and brown eyes.

"Fine, the spring talent show is coming up!" said Stella.

"And?" asked Flora.

"It's one of the biggest events of the year!" said Stella. "Plus, during the week of the talent show, the spring dance also occurs."

"So?" asked Flora.

"Flo! You're so slow!" yelled Ayane. "Keith can ask you to the dance!"

Flora hit Stella and Ayane on the heads. "Keith is only my friend guys."

"But you need a date," said Stella. "Besides, Brian already asked me!"

"And I'm going with Mark," said Ayane.

"Which means..." both said at the same time. "You're the last one left."

"It's okay guys," said Flora. "I'm fine going by myself...or not going at all."

"No way!" yelled Stella. "You are not going to stay home on the night of the biggest dance of the year!"

"We'll help set you up with Keith," said Ayane.

"Really, I'm fine," said Flora walking off to class. "And he's just a friend for the last time!"

Stella and Ayane exchanged glances and followed her.

"Hey, how about we all help set up the stage for the talent show?" suggested Flora.

"...Alright," said Ayane knowing her friend wanted to change the subject.

Flora, Ayane, and Stella signed up for the set up commitee for the talent show. While signing her name, Flora noticed that Jaden's name was also on the list.

That afternoon Flora was in the record room getting the music read. Then a guy of age 16 with short dark brown hair and black eyes walked in.

"Sorry I'm late," said the guy.

"Oh, hi Jaden," greeted Flora.

"Hey Flora," said Jaden walking over to her. "How's the music so far?"

"Well, the track that Jessica Rodriguez gave us is too loud compared to the other tracks," said Flora. "We should probably edit her track to match the volume of the other tracks."

"Wow, you're really good with music Flora," said Jaden.

"Uh...thanks...I just really like music," said Flora.

"Me too," said Jaden.

Jaden waved his hand over all the tracks and they glowed. "Volume." Then he handed Jessica's track to Flora. "Better now?"

Flora took the track. "Play." Then the music started playing from the track. "Yes, it matches perfectly."

"Alright everyone, it's time to wrap things up for today," said the teacher calling everyone.

"Let's go," said Flora.

"You go ahead, I think I'll check out the songs one more time," said Jaden.

"Okay, see you tomorrow," said Flora leaving.

Flora was looking for her friends to leave but couldn't find them anywhere.

"Where could they be?" asked Flora. "It's getting late. Well, I guess I'll just go use the bathroom and leave. I'll see them tomorrow."

When Flora was done using the bathroom, she looked outside and noticed it was already getting dark and the lights of the school were turned off.

"Wow, it sure is late," said Flora.

She was walking and noticed no one else was around. Then she twirled around and started dancing and singing to Friendship by Horie Yui. As she was waving her hands in the air while dancing, music started playing.

"Yesterday Kotoba ga tarinakute

Then she spun around and changed into a white flowing dress with blue ribbons and a light blue mask.

Jaden was walking around the school about to leave, then he heard someone singing and started to walk towards the voice. He saw a girl with a white dress singing on the other side of the hallway. He stood there and watched her sing and dance not noticing him.

Jaden started walking towards her.

Then Flora opened her eyes and saw Jaden standing there. She gasped and ran the other direction around the corner.

"Wait!" Jaden ran after her.

Flora was hiding inside a classroom and was back to her regular clothes. 'Oh my gosh. Jaden saw me! Thank god I was wearing a mask and a different outfit.'

Flora peeked outside the classroom and saw that Jaden had ran another way looking for the girl. She sighed and walked out the classroom. Then she found her friends.

"Flo!" cried out Stella. "Did you hear that?"

"Hear what?" asked Flora.

"There was a girl singing," said Ayane. "Stel and I were looking for you. Then we heard a girl singing and tried to find her. But then she stopped singing."

"Oh...well, I was in the bathroom, so I didn't hear her," lied Flora.

"Aw, that's too bad," said Stella.

The three girls were walking home together when Stella interrupted the silence.

"I have a great idea!" screamed out Stella. "How about during the talent show, we try to bring the Mystery Singer out?!"

"Bring her out?" asked Flora and Ayane.

"Yeah! The talent show is a week of judging where the preliminary rounds are in the first few days and the finale with the 2 best are in the last day, the day after the spring dance. We can try to advertise for the Mystery Singer to come out and perform and be part of the show! We'll put up posters all over the school and make space for a slot in the show for her to sing in the end of the prliminary rounds!"

"But what if she doesn't want to sing in the talent show?" asked Flora.

"I'm sure she wouldn't mind," said Stella. "Besides, she's only going to sing in the prelim."

"True!," agreed Ayane. "And with a Mystery Singer, this will be the best talent show in the history of the school!"

"Great, so we all agree?!" asked Stella.

"I'm not sure about this," said Flora. 'I really don't want to participate in that talent show...'

"Come on Flo," said Stella trying to convince her friend. "You can help me with the posters. Aya, since you're part of the newspaper commitee, you can write up a story or an ad."

"No problem," said Ayane.

"Well, see you tomorrow you guys," said Stella turning right and leaving towards her house.

"Bye Flo," said Ayane heading straight towards her house. "See you tomorrow."

Flora waved at her friends sadly and turned left towards her house. 'What am I going to do?'
