When Worlds Collide

Chapter 2: Settling in

It had been a week since they were put into their groups and Tim, Dom, and Haley’s digimon partners were already in-training digimon. They had worked hard to get them that far and they were training even more to get them to be rookies. In fact right now the three were in the school’s training grounds training them. The training grounds were located on the east side of the school and was a place many trainers and digidestined went to train their pokemon and digimon partners. Their group was there often to train so it was no surprise if anyone in the school saw them there.

Right now the three stood in front of three straw filled dolls as three digimon suddenly leaped from their arms and charged at the dolls. The first was an usually pink colored ball like creature, now more albino looking that had antennas on its head and big red eyes. The second was a blue like creature on all fours that had white tips on the end of its feet, sharp, pointy ears and tails, red eyes, and white colored fur in the muzzle area. The third was a grey blubbery like creature with two flippers for hands, a dorsal fin on its head, and green eyes. They started to gain speed.

“WhiteKoromon!” cried Tim. WhiteKoromon nodded in understanding.

“BUBBLE BLOW!” WhiteKoromon yelled, big bubbles coming out of his mouth.

“Dorimon!” said Haley. Dorimon cried out.

“METAL DROP!” little flacks of iron shot out of his mouth.

“Dolimon!” yelled Dom. Dolimon grinned.

“WATER WHIP!” two strips of water shot out of Dolimon’s flippers. All three attacks hit the dolls causing damage to them. The three little digimon cheered at the damage they caused.

“Haley! Haley! Did you see that! I hurt the dolly,” said Dorimon running back to Haley happily. Haley laughed.

“I did. You were good and getting better everyday.”

“Heck yeah they are!” said Dom high-fiveing Dolimon.

“Yep and pretty soon these guys will become rookies,” said Tim taking WhiteKoromon into his arms.

“I hope so Tim,” spoke WhiteKoromon.

“Well of course we will WhiteKoromon!” said Dolimon jumping up and down. “ then we’ll become the coolest digimon in the whole school!” The others laughed. The whole week she had been on the team she had fun having Dorimon as her partner and enjoyed having the guys as her teammates. Both were fun to hang out with and even when they ate meals they always hung out with her now. Haley didn’t really have any friends before the guys and it felt good to finally have friends. She still remembered the first day they had become a team and her first real friends at the school...

It was the dinner after they had received their digimon partners or pokemon if you were a trainer and Haley sat alone at a table in the cafeteria, eating her food with her digi-egg in front of her. This was a normal dinner for her sitting alone. It wasn’t that no one wanted to be her friend but she chose to be alone, liking peace and quiet better than being loud and noisy like the other people in the cafeteria. That way she was able to think better, like how after rushing to get to the actual ceremony she had chose suddenly to get a flying digimon and was shoved into a group with the supposed two hottest guys in the school for at least the digidestineds. They probably don’t even realize I exist, thought Haley. They’ll probably just ignore me most of the time but that’s fine with me.

Just then she heard her name being called and looked up. Her eyes widened in surprise. Coming towards her carrying their own digi-eggs and trays of food was Tim and Dom. She didn’t even expect them to know her name but they proved her wrong by coming right up to her table and taking two of the five empty seats that were there and smiled at her. She stared at them in surprise at seeing them there.

Uh hi?” she said to the two of them.

Hey!” they both said smiling, and continued to eat.

Um I know this is kind of mean of me to say but why are you guys sitting with me?” Haley asked them curiously. They looked at her and frowned.

Why wouldn’t we be sitting with you we’re a team now aren’t we?” asked Tim. Haley blinked owlishly at them.

Well yeah but people never sit me anyways. Plus there’s other people I bet who are teammates and probably not sitting with each other right now,” she said. The boys frowned at her again.

Why wouldn’t anyone sit with you?” asked Dom.

Well I don’t really have any friends here at Moniono.”

None at all?” Tim asked in disbelief.

Oh sure I have class friends but not good enough of friends that I would hang out with them outside of class.

Then that’s even more of a reason to sit with you. Stick with us Haley and we’ll be your friends,” said Dom taking a bite out of his food, a small steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, and peas. Haley raised an eyebrow at them in question.

Really? You’d actually want me hanging out with you guys?”

Well of course! Everybody needs friends to survive otherwise you’re not really living,” said Tim staring at her with a weird glint in his eyes.

Are you guys positively sure? Because I don’t want to become a burden to you guys.”

Of course we are. You’re not a burden at all Haley. Just don’t worry about it anymore and let things happen as they happen,” said Dom and they didn’t say anything else about it that whole night.

And ever since then she had hung out with them. She enjoyed every minute she spent with them because she knew it wasn’t going to be her last. The others continued on with practice for another ten minutes until they finally decided to just hang out in Tim’s dorm room until dinner. As the boys left to go to the room with their digimon Haley stooped down, picked up Dorimon, and ran after the guys. They had already entered the school when Haley ran even faster and pushed against the double doors to open them but...

SLAM!

Landon was running late. He was supposed to meet his team for practice in the training grounds ten minutes ago. Now he was running around the school looking around for the door that lead into the training grounds. They had been to the training grounds a couple of times already but Landon kept on forgetting where it was. Finally, at the end of the hallway, he saw the door for the training grounds.

“Yes! Finally!” cried Landon as he approached the double doors and reached out to grab the handle. Right before Landon was going to grasp the handle the door banged open. SLAM! Landon fell to the ground from the force of the door and landed flat on his ass. He heard someone gasp and looked up.

His heart skipped a beat. It was the girl from the ceremony. She had with her a little blue creature who he guessed was her digimon that stared at him curiously.

“Oh my god I’m so sorry! I didn’t know you were behind the door! I was trying to catch up with my friends and didn’t think that someone may be behind the door,” said the girl reaching out her hand to help him up. He took it, a warm feeling coursing through him as she yanked him up.

“Nah it’s okay. I fall down on a regular biases anyways,” said Landon grinning. She giggled when he said that. He liked her giggle.

“My name’s Haley,” she said.

“Landon,” said Landon shaking her hand.

“Once again I’m truly sorry.”

“It’s no problem,” said Landon waving her off.

“Okay then well...I have to go meet up with my friends. Nice meeting you Landon and maybe I’ll see you again sometime,” said Haley with a small smile.

“Nice meeting you too Haley,” said Landon as he watched Haley and Dorimon go. He sighed happily at finally meeting her and realizing he needed to be with his teammates opened the double doors and ran into the training grounds. When his teammates saw him they glared at him.

“Where have you been?” said his first teammate Emily. She tended to get angry easily but was a pretty cool person anyways except when you got on her bad side.

“Sorry about that. I was having trouble getting here and was a little side tracked...” he said to them pulling a pokeball off his belt.

“Whatever then dude at least you’re here now,” said his other teammate Ezekeil, or what he had told them to call him Zee. Now Zee was the more quieter one of the group. He didn’t talk if he didn’t have to and seemed to be bored with everything easily or their too cool to care personality of the group. Zee also pulled off a pokeball from his belt and Emily did the same.

“Let’s do this!” cried Landon throwing his pokeball and out popped Chimchar the fire monkey, his lead pokemon. Zee and Emily did the same with Emily making Mudkip, her blue mud fish lead pokemon come out and Zee making Chikorita, his leafy, almost dinosaur like lead come out. The three were already loyal pokemon even though they were only at level 6.

“What kind of practice are we going to use for them today?” asked Emily.

“How about the dolls,” suggested Zee. “We haven’t used those yet.”

“Good idea,” said Landon as the three made their way over to where the dolls were.

“Okay Chimchar use Scratch on the doll!” said Landon. Chimchar ran up and scratched the doll on its face.

“Mudkip use Tackle!” cried Emily. Mudkip ran forward and tackled the doll.

“Chikorita also use Tackle!” said Zee. Chikorita also tackled the doll. The pokemon made a little bit of damage to the dolls. Suddenly Chimchar started to glow red.

“All right he’s leveling up!" said Landon excitedly. Then, Chimchar turned to the doll he attacked and shot out flames from his flaming tail, making the doll burst into flames.

“Hey look he learned Ember,” laughed Zee as the doll was being burnt to a crisp.

“(Wow Landon I’m strong!)” cried Chimchar but Landon gasped.(A/N: Trainers understand their Pokemon after they have for them for a while so the others already know what their Pokmon are saying).

“Chimchar what did you do? He’s going to burn all the dolls at this rate!”

“Don’t worry I can fix that. Mudkip use Mud-slap,” said Emily. Mudkip slapped the dolls with a bunch of mud, putting out the fire and leveling up himself when a blue glow surrounded him.

“(There we go. I put out the fire for you Chimchar)” said Mudkip turning to Chimchar.

“(No fair I want to level up too!)” pouted Chikorita.

“Well do you still want to tackle the doll and see if you level up?” asked Zee to Chikorita. Chikorita nodded and ran at the doll, tackling it even harder than last time and she did in fact level up when a green glow surrounded her.

“See now you’re all at level 7,” said Emily happily. Zee looked up at the sky and frowned.

“Hey its starting to get dark guys should we go in?” asked zee.

“I think so. Dinner’s going to start soon anyways,” said Landon also looking up at the darkening sky.

“Well then let’s go,” said Emily grabbing Mudkip’s pokeball. “Mudkip return,” and in a flash of red light Mudkip was back in the pokeball. Landon and Zee also returned Chimchar and Chikorita to their pokeballs and started to exit the training grounds. Unlike a lot of the pokemon trainer groups in the school Landon, Emily, and Zee actually preferred to hang out with each other than with other people. They did more stuff together than other groups did and that they thought made them better teammates than other people in the trainer groups. They even probably performed better as a team that way.

The three enter the school and passed through the many hallways, classrooms, and dorm rooms until they reached the cafeteria. Many of the school’s residents were already there either getting their food or already sitting at a table and eating in the small, compact cafeteria. Only about 800 kids attended the school, about 400 students in each year and only 200 students in each group that year. Even with those low numbers the cafeteria really filled up fast so you had to get their early to get a seat. Otherwise you would either stand or take the meal to your room.

They got in line and grabbed trays, going through the line and getting anything they wanted to eat. The main course that day was salmon and all three of them got that, their sides broccoli and rice with only Landon getting broccoli but all three got rice. Their dessert was raspberry cheesecake but only Emily wanted cheesecake. Once they all got what they wanted to eat they all sat at an empty table and started eating. Almost immediately after sitting down a small, first year boy unmistakably a trainer came running up to their table.

“Did you hear. Did you hear?” said the kid.

“Hear what kid?” growled Zee.

“May Maple is going to be a teacher here now!”

“What!?” said Emily.

“May?” Landon said a little surprised.

“I thought she was Pokemon Coordinator?” said Zee.

“She is. But supposedly when she married Brendan Birch a couple of year back she had gotten interested in studying pokemon and now wants to be a teacher here!”

“Who’d you hear this from kid?” said Landon curiously.

“From my teacher Mr. Maple, May’s brother.” the three were stunned into silence. Max Maple was in fact a teacher at the school but to now know his sister was joining him was very surprising. The kid scampered off from their table to tell other people when Emily spoke.

“This is a surprise.”

“It is,” said Zee.

“Well now that I think about it not really. I always saw her and Brendan studying when I would visit them so it doesn’t surprise me,” said Landon. You see Landon was Brendan Birch’s cousin and often visited the Birch’s in Littleroot for the holidays. He had told his teammates when they first met that he was related to the Birch’s so they dismissed that topic and moved on to another one while they ate. Landon zoned out after a while and when looking around the cafeteria saw Haley with Dorimon, the boys, and their digimon and sighed. I really do hope we get to see each other again, thought Landon as the three finished their meals and left the cafeteria, turning in for the night for a nice, long rest.

Yay i got to update! Also just so you know i did not make up Dorimon or any of his future forms he exists already and only one of Dolimon's future forms already existed as a Digimon, his Champion form. And yes May and Max are at least in this story to answer the questions of Lunarshade29 and Phillip Clark. The second part of that question i'm going to answer is yes there will be characters from Pokemon in here as well but none of them are going to be Co Headmasters or Principals of the school. Also to Hina Kariachi Hakubi i may actually change the term Digidestined to Tamer because it does seem to make more sense for them in their situation...anyways i would like to thank all the people who have been reading and reviewing me personally so they are:

Forestwater: glad to hear you actually like this fanfic of Digimon/Pokemon and that it doesn't make you barf xD.

teeju: thank you for liking this so much i'll update again when i can!

poke-pwincess: even though you're not really a fan of pokemon i hope you do like this story a lot.

Brianna: i guess it is going good.

katana777: i'm glad you like how the Pokemon and Digimon seem to react to one another.

Hina Kariachi Hakubi: i think i just answered your question but yeah great that you like this story.

Phillip Clark: just answered question but thank you for reviewing.

Lunarshade29: happy to hear this story is awesome and i hope it stays awesome!
