---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He stood there at the corridor; while she stood near the corner. Their eyes faced each other. What is this? A confession or an answer? Kaname stood there silently as he looked so calm; like a doll. Yuuki stared at him; her eyes cannot keep on with his eyes. She closed her eyes and bowed down with the word, ‘I am sorry, Kaname-sempai!’.
Kaname stood there, unmoving. He knew it, Yuuki Cross; guardian of Cross Academy would never accept his feelings to her. She finally knew how he felt towards her, but then, being told that she could not accept him just because they were too different. What different can a vampire and human be? They were the same; they are practically like a human; except for the fangs and the supernatural power and ability. However, that was all the differences; how could it be so different that even Yuuki cannot accept.
Yuuki ran straight after she told Kaname Kuran what she felt; her answer. It hurt her so much to broke Kaname’s heart; but it was the right choice. Kaname should never confess that he loved her; he should keep it in his mind. They were different, too different. Kaname Kuran is a pureblood; what is she? She was just a normal human being who was clumsy and always needed to be watch. She stopped and sat down next to the wall. ‘This is too hard for me to endure,’ that was all she can said.
After that day, everything changed. Yuuki was told that Kaname would leave Cross Academy for some weeks. She wondered why and asked herself if it had something to do with the day where she rejected his confession. She shook her head and quickly ran to her patrol destination.
She was at the Cross Academy Main Building. As she walked towards her destination, she saw a girl with brown blackish hair. The same brown blackish hair as Kaname Kuran; she wondered, was that, Kanayuki Kuran? Kanayuki stopped when she realized someone saw her. She turned to her right and saw Yuuki Cross staring at her. She bowed down and walked to her destination; leaving Yuuki alone.
Yuuki sighed; she was bowed down by Kanayuki Kuran! She wondered why the girl would actually do something that any pureblood would not do. She followed Kanayuki to her destination; but when Kanayuki stopped and glared at her; she changed her mind. She walked away to the rooftops to watch over the Cross Academy.
She reached the rooftops; but felt lonely. He partner, Zero Kiryuu decided to go and work at the Vampire Hunter Associations. ‘Zero had left Cross Academy; and Kaname-sempai left the school as well’ said Yuuki as she sighed. The two important men in her life both gone from her; and the reason why they actually left were not told. Especially Kaname’s reason; he did not told anyone about why he left.
Yuuki stood up and ran to the doors; she wanted to look for someone. She saw Kanayuki reading a thick literature book and quickly approached her. She called Kanayuki’s name, but was ignored. She called again, and the answer was the same. Finally, she called Kanayuki for the third time; and finally there was a respond from the girl. However, Kanayuki was not happy; she was upset. She closed her book angrily and stared at Yuuki.
‘What?’ she asked sternly.
‘I just want to ask you a question, about Kaname-sempai!’ said Yuuki as she realized she raised her voice.
‘Kaname? Brother left the academy two weeks ago; I could had follow him but I did not’ said Kanayuki as she did not smile.
‘Why?’ asked Yuuki short.
‘Because brother told me not to follow. I was just doing whatever he wanted me to do’ said Kanayuki as she turned around. ‘Your questions had reached its maximum limit. Goodbye, prefect—’.
Yuuki walked ahead and stopped Kanayuki. ‘Who said I am going to ask only two questions?’ asked her as she touched Kanayuki’s shoulder.
‘Yuuki Cross, don’t force me! You know what happen, it’s your fault!’ cried Kanayuki as she pushed Yuuki aside and left the place.
Yuuki hit the walls angrily as she turned and left the building back to her room.
--
Nevertheless, the case did not ended there; it continued few months later. It seemed like the peace between vampires and humans could not be done when all the vampires decided to return to their world due to Kanayuki’s orders. Yuuki tried her best to ask them to stay but they refused to. Without Kaname, they were dangerous to the humans. Kanayuki interfered and told her that once Kaname was gone, the vampires would be gone as well. Nothing would stop the vampires from leaving Cross Academy.
Since she could not do anything else, Yuuki had to let them left the academy. She felt sad; some of her friends were vampires but now they were gone. Yuuki sighed and sat on her bed as she cried. It was just like her own fault that Kaname left the academy; and later the vampires followed his path.
--
After some years, Yuuki Cross graduated from Cross Academy. Although she missed everyone, she must leave the academy and lead her own life with a new beginning chapter. She felt sad to leave the beautiful academy; but she must leave no matter what. She kissed Chairman Cross goodbye and left the academy for good.
10 years later, Yuuki was found working in a small shop. She was not a genius or able to make something special; so she could work in small places like the shop. Her features changed a lot; her hair was much longer and she no longer cheerful. She much more matured and calm; but her mind would not change. She only thought of Kaname Kuran, her savior; her protector, as well as her ‘lover’. She wondered, between Kaname and Zero, whom did she loved more.
She realized she was fooling with herself. She finally understood what was in her head. Her feelings towards Kaname never changed; as much as how he told her he loved her. She walked and cried to herself. It was hurting her; she realized it was too late for her to fix everything. Kaname has gone; as well as Zero. It was all her fault, her fault!!
Suddenly, she saw three familiar figures. When she confirm whom she saw; she ran towards them and called their names. ‘Takuma-sempai! Aidou-sempai! Kain-sempai!!’ called Yuuki as she stopped in front of them. ‘All of you, finally I saw all of you!’ cried her.
Takuma who noticed Yuuki smiled lightly. ‘Hello, Yuuki-chan. You have grown up fast, I am so proud of you. Umm, what were you doing during the last ten years?’ asked Takuma as he lightly smiled.
Yuuki explained what she did; and in the end returned the same question. The boys stopped and stared at her. ‘It was nothing ... much. Just some war during the ten years’ said Aidou. ‘Human years, that is—’ added Kain.
Yuuki looked at them and asked about them about the age differences. ‘Well, hundred years in vampire world meant ten years in human world. Weird, but it is normal for all us vampires’ said Takuma. ‘Ah, we are no longer vampires anymore; even if we are naturally’ he added.
‘What do you meant by that?’ asked Yuuki. She could not understand what they were trying to tell her.
They shrugged. Takuma stood and explained. ‘It was all because of the war; it had killed many vampires. Most of the vampires could not survive; and they all died during the battle. The only ones left were all of us; me, Kain and Aidou. The rest; are gone’ said Takuma.
Yuuki gasped. ‘Everyone else, died?!’ said her as she cupped her mouth in horror. ‘Impossible, they couldn’t die so easily!’ said her.
Aidou glared at her. ‘Hundred years of war; what do you expected? After all, we were fighting with the council’ said Aidou angrily.
‘The council members are ten times powerful than any of us. The only ones that can put them down are purebloods, but purebloods are not many these days. The only ones on our side are Kaname-sama and Kanayuki-sama. But their strength are not that strong to kill off the council members as well as Kuran Rido—’ said Kain.
‘Kuran Rido?’ asked Yuuki.
‘That person is Kaname’s and Kanayuki’s uncle. He is a very dangerous person; revived from his death by my grandfather and Shiki’s great-uncle. Well, unfortunately Shiki is Rido’s son’ said Takuma. He noticed Yuuki’s eyes widened and smiled. ‘Yes, it was true Yuuki-chan. Shiki Senri is Kuran Rido’s son; and indeed he was related to Kaname.’
Yuuki stepped behind two steps. She looked around and then turned to look at Takuma and the rest. ‘Kaname-senpai! How is he?’ asked her with fear.
‘Kaname? Hmm, we are not sure about that Yuuki. After the war, we did not know anything about Kaname; as well as Kanayuki’ said Takuma.
‘Kaname-sama went missing after the war; he may be already met with his fate—’ said Kain.
‘Kaname-sama would survive, Akatsuki!’ said Aidou angrily. ‘He won’t die, he won’t die!’
Takuma stopped the two from fighting. ‘Enough! Kaname is no longer here; whether he survived or not; I do not care about it anymore. Let us try to learn and live, as humans should. After all, we must learn to lead our own live without Kaname’s help. Vampires are history now!’ said Takuma as he picked those two and moved ahead. ‘Sorry Yuuki-chan, we must leave now. We’ll see you later then!’ said Takuma as he dragged both his friends somewhere else.
Yuuki waved at them and turned around. She was worried. What Kain said might be true; but then again, Aidou’s words. He has strong will and would always be sure that Kaname would still stay alive; but then—
--
Sounds of windows creaking were heard. Suddenly, a sound of wheelchair was heard. Then, a sound of footsteps was heard. In the dark manor; appeared two vampires. One was on a wheelchair; while the other was pushing the wheelchair.
‘Brother Kaname, how long would it last?’ asked a woman who pushed the wheelchair.
The man on the wheelchair shrugged. ‘Perhaps few more years, Kanayuki. It cannot be helped. I am pinned to my legs and no longer can move freely like I wished all those days before’ said him. He continued, ‘But I am glad you are with me, Kanayuki. At least, I am not alone—’.
Kanayuki sighed as she hugged Kaname. ‘Brother, I knew almost all the vampires died during the war, but I am sure some of them did survived!’ said Kanayuki. ‘Why wouldn’t you tell the survivors of your current status?’ asked her as she shed tears.
‘Because I do not want them to be worried; especially Yuuki—’ said Kaname as he leaned behind and touched his sister’s hands. ‘If she sees me in this condition, she would never accept me’ said him.
‘Don’t be an idiot, brother! You are a coward if you stayed on like this!!’ cried Kanayuki. ‘That girl, that stupid girl! I am dead sure she could find her own suitor!’.
Kaname touched her lips as he turned and faced her. ‘I understand you never liked her at all, but she was a light for me. She does not care about my status as a pureblood, she just accepted me. Please Kanayuki, do understand me’ pleaded Kaname. His deep dark red eyes stared at his sister’s own eyes. He saw her with tears and quickly wiped it. ‘I thank you for your care, Kanayuki. I am really proud I have you to take care of me before I leave the world’ said Kaname as he hugged his crying sister.
‘No brother, no! You will not leave me all alone! After papa and mama, I have only you in this place. Please don’t leave so soon!’ cried Kanayuki as she kept crying on Kaname’s shoulder.
‘Please don’t cry, dear Kanayuki. I do not want to leave you in complete sadness. Remember dear sister, I will always be with you. I promise you I will stay by your side, Kanayuki. By the time my death comes, do not be in sadness. You must be proud, you are my sister and you are the last pureblood that ever lived’ said Kaname with complete hope. He wiped Kanayuki’s tears and smiled.
Kanayuki returned the smiled as she said, ‘I will, and I won’t forget you. I will always visit your grave; and if I ever found any survivors or even Yuuki; I will tell them what happened. I will tell them that you are proud that they still survived. No matter how long it would take, I will make sure I’ll tell each one of them, I would, brother’ said her as she kissed Kaname’s forehead. ‘I promise—’ said her.
‘Thank you, Kanayuki. At least, please don’t be hard on dear Yuuki’ said Kaname as he smiled and kept Kanayuki’s arms at his side.
Kanayuki laughed. ‘I won’t of course, but I will give her some lectures. You know brother, I am so sure you want her arms on your side instead of mine, right?’ said Kanayuki as she hugged Kaname.
‘Of course I wanted her by my side; but then, I have only you here. So I just need you and it’s fine for me’ said Kaname as he laughed.
‘Hehe, that’s the brother that I loved!’ said Kanayuki as she kissed Kaname’s head countless of times.
--
Kanayuki walked around the manor in search for her brother, Kaname Kuran. ‘Brother! Brother, where are you?’ called Kanayuki as she ran upstairs and downstairs for Kaname. She searched every inch of the manor, but found no trace of Kaname. ‘Brother!!’ cried her in fear. Currently, Kaname lost the ability to walk and his health was not in a good shape in the moment. If anything were to happen to Kaname, Kanayuki would go mad and be shame with herself.
She walked to a corner and dropped the cups she was bringing with her; as she quickly ran to something. ‘Brother!’ cried Kanayuki as she tried to lift Kaname but failed. ‘Brother, please wake up!! Don’t leave me alone here, brother!’.
Kaname did not respond to her. Kanayuki shook his body and again, no respond from him. She quickly pulled him and checked on his pulse. However, it was just too late. Kaname had passed away. Kanayuki stared at his body as tears came to her.
‘Brother, you left me already—’ murmured Kanayuki as she put her head on Kaname’s body. Her crying is heard as she hugged the only person that can tame her down.
--
20 years later...
It was winter, a very cold weather in Japan. A figure of a woman dressed in black coat walked towards the graveyard. Nevertheless, the place she was going was hidden from the eyes of the humans of Japan; the graveyard was for the vampires. Many vampires had died and thus were buried there. Those who fought in the war were also buried there.
However, someone else was following her. Dressed in a dark brown coat and brown shoes, she followed the woman to the graveyard. When the woman stopped to one grave and went down to put flowers, she suddenly dropped her bag. Instantly, that startled the woman.
‘Kanayuki?’ called the woman in dark brown coat. ‘Is that really you?’ asked her.
‘Hmm?’ the woman in black stood up and turned to face the other female. As she looked at her, her face was revealed.
The woman with brown coat gasped and covered her mouth with her hands. It was clearly impossible for it to happen. Kanayuki Kuran had never change, she still looked the same; the same person last 30 years ago.
‘Kanayuki, you didn’t age? For the past 30 years, you did not change at all. You still looked very beautiful!’ cried the female in brown coat.
Kanayuki chuckled. ‘Well, because I am a vampire, Yuuki Cross. You are a human, thus you grew very old’ said Kanayuki as she smiled lightly.
Yuuki nodded. ‘I am now around forty-years old, Kanayuki. I am old now, I already have my own children’ said Yuuki as she smiled.
‘Children, eh?’ said Kanayuki. ‘I suppose you decided to stay on with your life and be a mother to some children? No longer lingering between Kiryuu Zero and Kuran Kaname?’ asked her.
Yuuki stunned with her questions. She loved both Zero and Kaname, and when both of them disappeared without any word, she regretted that she loved them. Although, it was her fault that Kaname left too soon. She rejected him, even if then she learned her mistake. She loved Kaname after all.
She quickly asked her, ‘What happened to Kaname? Tell me, Kanayuki! Why are you here?’ asked her. She was worried, if Kanayuki was in the graveyard, could that meant—
‘I came here to visit brother’s grave. He died 20 years ago due to natural death. He was not able to live that long; at that time, his age already about 300 years old’ said Kanayuki. She decided to tell everything honestly to the person her brother loved for all time. ‘You see, after the war brother and I managed to survive and we lived in the manor, alone with both of us. I was all right, but brother Kaname was not. He was paralyzed from his legs. He can’t walk anymore, Yuuki’ said her.
Yuuki’s eyes widened. ‘Pa.. Paralyzed? No way, I thought all vampires can heal by themselves?!’ asked her.
Kanayuki nodded. ‘True, but this wound was too large just for easing healing. Brother sat on the wheelchair for years and then, he passed away due to old age’ said her.
‘But purebloods vampires can live long, right?’ asked Yuuki. She could not believe that Kaname had died. She wanted to tell him her true feelings. She was sorry that she rejected him on the first place, but she did not thought about it more deeply. ‘After all, I need to tell Kaname something! Something very important!’ cried Yuuki. Her tears had flowed on her face but she ignored the will to wipe it.
--
Kanayuki stood and watched Yuuki cried. She detested the woman for crying for the dead brother of hers, she did not deserve Kaname at all. She dare to reject him and later show up and cried off when she told her about Kaname’s death. ‘Why must you cry? You already have a husband, a family!’ cried Kanayuki as she took Yuuki’s hands and slapped her.
Yuuki took the slap. She deserve it, she knew it. ‘I know that! However, I wanted to tell Kaname about my true feelings towards him! I was wrong to reject him on the first place!’ cried Yuuki as she deepened her cries.
Kanayuki who was annoyed with Yuuki pushed her to the ground. ‘Because of you, brother lost the will to fight uncle Rido! How dare you reject him, and then you come back and wanted to apologize to him? Think again, Yuuki Cross, because I would just kill you for that! You killed my brother!’ cried Kanayuki. Her beauty face no longer beautiful as her tears ruined it all.
Yuuki stood up and hugged Kanayuki. ‘I am sorry, Kanayuki! I am so sorry!! I never knew that my rejection to Kaname would make he felt hurt! I am sorry!’ cried Yuuki.
Kanayuki tried to push Yuuki away, but failed. The woman’s grip on her was too strong, she was not strong enough to push her away. ‘Yuuki! Stop this already! I don’t need your pity!’ cried Kanayuki. However, Yuuki refused to listen to her and continued hugging her as she cried. She asked what can she do to make Kanayuki be happy again; and the answer was—
‘I want your blood, Yuuki’ said Kanayuki. She stared at Yuuki’s face as her eyes started to glow. She touched Yuuki’s face and moved to her neck as she lowered her face and showed her fangs as she was ready to bite her. Yuuki closed her eyes and let Kanayuki do whatever she wanted on her.
SMACK!
Kanayuki and Yuuki were separated but Kanayuki managed to bite someone. Nevertheless, who?
‘Ugh!’ cried Aidou. He felt Kanayuki’s fangs piercing through his neck. It was hurting him!
Kanayuki realized she was biting Aidou instead of Yuuki and quickly pulled off. ‘Ah!!’ cried her. ‘What are you guys doing here? I thought I was biting Yuuki, not you!’. Aidou’s blood was still on her mouth but she quickly wiped it off her mouth as she blushed.
‘Why would you bite her? This girl does not deserve to be bitten by you, and I am better than she is! She broke Kaname-sama’s heart and you are going to bite her? This is ridiculous!’ said Aidou sternly.
Kain and Takuma appeared at the graveyard as they were shocked to see that last pureblood of Kuran clan to still survived and still as beautiful as she was before.
‘Kanayuki!’ cried Takuma as he hugged her. ‘I missed you so much! It had been 300 years since we last met!’ cried him.
Kain bowed down to her and managed to ask, ‘How are you, Kanayuki-sama?’.
Kanayuki was let go by Takuma who were eager to know about her. She nodded and answered, ‘I am fine, Kain. I was surprised to see all of you, all matured and healthy. I suppose only the three of you left aside from me?’.
The three of them nodded. ‘We managed to survive the war, and led our own lives’ said Aidou.
‘We never thought to see you here, Kanayuki. What are you doing here?’ asked Takuma. ‘We did not see Kaname at all, where is he?’.
Kanayuki stared at them and turned her head down as she pointed the grave. ‘There, in the grave. Brother Kaname is in there’ said her calmly.
The rest of them approached the grave and saw Kaname’s name was carved on the tombstone. Aidou fell on his knees and cried. ‘Kaname-sama, NO!!’. Kain had to restrain him before he went mad with grief. ‘Why, why?!’ cried Aidou.
Kanayuki explained to them what really happened to Kaname. His death was because of natural death. Kaname had lived to the maximum age of a pureblood, although he could still live long if it were not for his difficulty to walk. ‘A pureblood vampire could live as long as 200 to 400 years old. Well, brother Kaname was about 300 to 400 years old, and adding with his paralyzed legs, his life span had shortened’ explained Kanayuki. ‘When I found him, he was on the floor with his back on the top. I shook his body and asked him to respond, but he did not. Since I was worried, I checked his pulse but it was just too late. Brother Kaname had passed away’.
She later explained what she did with Kaname’s body. She buried Kaname alone and asked someone to carved Kaname’s tombstone so that everyone that visited his grave would know that it was the pureblood vampire – Kuran Kaname. She told them also that Kaname was not a coward, although she thought he was one when he refused to let others know of his condition; not even Yuuki at all.
Yuuki stood there crying. She could not believe that Kaname paralyzed and no longer can move. Kanayuki walked towards her and told her something.
‘I do not blame you on his death, Yuuki. It was a natural thing for a pureblood to die in the end. However, I am going to blame you for making Kaname lost his will. His strong will, his coolness, everything was destroyed because of you. I know you loved him truly, but it was just too late for you to correct it’ said Kanayuki as she stood there in front of Yuuki who stunned with her words.
Aidou who was watching the whole scene pushed Kain away and dashed towards Yuuki as he started to attack her with his ice power. ‘You killed Kaname-sama!!’ cried him as his ice came from the ground.
Yuuki cried in fear as she pinned to the ground as Aidou held her neck harshly with a murderous aura. She could see his fangs showing as the ice piled up to her legs. ‘Stop this, Aidou!’ cried Yuuki as she tried to move away but could not do so since her legs cannot move around.
Aidou tighten his grip on Yuuki’s neck. He then said, ‘You are a murderer, Cross! You destroyed Kaname-sama’s strong hope! Now he died, and I do not care if it was because of natural death or because of his wound legs. The root of the problems is all originated from you!’ hissed him. Bloods started to drip from Yuuki’s neck as she shivered in fear.
Kain moved and ordered Aidou to release Yuuki, but Aidou mainly ignored him. Takuma did the same and tried to remove Aidou’s grip but again, failed.
‘Aidou! Don’t do this to Yuuki-chan!’ said Takuma sternly. He kept trying to make Aidou release Yuuki’s neck. ‘She cannot breathe if you gripped her neck like that!’
‘Hanabusa! Come on, do not be a stupid boy! Release her already!!’ said Kain as he and Takuma tried their best to help Yuuki.
Angered with the two friends of him, Aidou pushed the two of them and froze their legs so they cannot move. ‘This girl is a murdered and you two are not going to change it at all! I am going to kill her, just like how I should had did years ago!’ said Aidou as he looked at Yuuki and kept tightening his grip.
Yuuki cannot see properly since Aidou blocked her neck. She did not have enough air and she might as well just collapse there. But then again, if she died, it was also fine to her. Even if she had a husband and children, she never wanted to be with them. She wanted to pay for her crime and now Aidou was here to do what she wanted to do. She wanted to die, and possibly meet Kaname on the way.
Takuma noticed that Kanayuki was still free on the ground without the ice, so quickly he shouted. ‘Kanayuki! Try to make Aidou release Yuuki. She’s suffocating now!’ said Takuma. Takuma tried to reach Aidou but he was just too far. To reach Kain also, it was clearly impossible. Aidou did not just pin their legs, but their own body to the ground. Kain whispered at Takuma, ‘Ichijou, I wonder if Kanayuki-sama did heard you?’ asked him. Takuma stared at him and nodded. ‘She heard it, but her actions are a bit late’ said Takuma as he sighed. They do hope Kanayuki would help them.
Kanayuki heard Takuma very well. He and Kain wanted her to make Aidou release Yuuki’s neck and let her breathe again. She thought about it again; she also wanted Yuuki to die because she believed the whole same thing like how Aidou believed – Yuuki killed Kaname even if it was just because of the confession rejection. However, instead of killing Yuuki, Kanayuki might be able to save her instead. A pureblood can make a vampire follow their orders, and since she herself a pureblood, she could do what she wanted to do to Aidou. But—
She approached Aidou and Yuuki and slowly touched Aidou’s arm. She stared at him and told him to release Yuuki. No matter how much Aidou kept protesting on her request, she refused to take back her order. At last, she took Aidou’s hand and forced him to release Yuuki’s poor neck. Yuuki then fell to the ground as she lost too much energy from Aidou’s grip.
Kanayuki kept holding the arm and then she let it go. However, before Aidou could touch his hands to comfort him, a slap was on him.
SLAP!
Aidou stared at her as Kanayuki’s hand slapped his cheeks harshly. He wondered why she did it to him, just like how Kaname did to him years ago in Cross Academy. Kanayuki touched her hands and said, ‘I was just doing the right thing. As I said, Kaname did not die because Yuuki killed him. It was because of natural death, Aidou. Remember that, please—’.
Suddenly, the ices that were forming on Yuuki’s, Takuma and Kain’s legs all melted and then dried. Takuma slowly stood up and helped Kain to stand. Kanayuki bent and helped Yuuki to stand although Yuuki still felt like she has no legs. Kanayuki assured her that she did have her legs on her still.
Kanayuki helped Yuuki to walk beside Kaname’s grave as she whispered. ‘Do pray for brother. He would be glad that you are here and pray for him’ said Kanayuki as she hugged Yuuki and walked away. ‘Alright boys, let us go now. We have some more time before I myself die’ said her as she walked towards the three vampires.
All of them stunned, but Yuuki managed to ask her quickly. ‘Die? You are going to die soon, Kanayuki?’ asked Yuuki. Tears started to form on her eyes; she cannot bear to see another one die because of her. It could be anyone, but not the sister to the man she loved so much.
Kanayuki turned around and smiled lightly. ‘Don’t fret, Yuuki. My death is because of my age. I am nearing to my death time, Yuuki. A pureblood life span is different from each other. Some of them can live long enough, but some of them managed to live this far. I am living this far and soon I would be place next to brother’s grave. So, goodbye now’ said her as she bowed down and walked away.
The vampires who were shocked to hear about the news lightly bowed and walked away following Kanayuki. However, she suddenly stopped and looked at the four of them. They suddenly gasped when they saw Kanayuki’s face changed.
‘This is how I look like now, I am old Yuuki. Just like you, none of us is perfect. Not even brother and that is why he left the world first before you and me; as well before his own friends’ said Kanayuki. ‘Although vampires would no longer be here once the three of them passed away, at least the humans would believed the tale of a vampire. Vampires do existed but it just history now’ said her as she smiled and closed her eyes.
‘Goodbye, Yuuki. Goodbye!’ said Kanayuki as she turned around and walked away as the vampires followed her.
--
Time passed and Yuuki turned to look at Kaname’s grave - the grave of her beloved man that she loved for all her lifetime. She prayed for him as well for Kanayuki and the other three vampires and hoped they would be happy. Although Yuuki believed that it was her fault that the vampire’s lineage fell to the world of nothingness, she would still pray for all of their happiness. Their graves were placed here and it would be her responsibility to watch after it. She smiled as her tears came to her face. She was sorry that Kaname’s will shattered with her rejection on his love, but at least it was not entirely her fault on his death. Kanayuki’s words had given her strong hope to stay on and lead a beautiful life but her heart will always stay with Kaname. She swore on it strongly.
As she smiled and closed her eyes, many snowflakes appeared on the sky. ‘Ah, snow time already’ said Yuuki as she laughed. ‘Well then, I better go before the weather get worse. My children need me, as well as my husband. Kaname-sama, thank you for everything. I will always visit your grave and pray for your happiness’ said Yuuki as she put a flower on Kaname’s grave and walked away.
THE END

Author’s Notes:
I hope all of you who read this story would love it. I intended to make this a tragic story, but I guess I just can’t do so. Yes, decided to make it as one-shot because it just deserves to be only a chapter. Yes, I am cruel to make Kaname paralyzed on his legs and also to kill him, but then, the story won’t make any point if Kaname did not die. I was trying to make Yuuki felt guilty, and I managed to do so through Kanayuki and Aidou. Everyone knows that Aidou always protective and supportive of Kaname and when he heard Kaname had died and then related to Yuuki, he obviously angry with Yuuki and thus attacked her. Kanayuki, yes, she also disliked Yuuki greatly but she was told by Kaname not to follow her emotion and so, she just did what is right.
I tried not to make Kanayuki to be too perfect, because I don’t want people to think of her as a Mary-Sue because she’s an OC. Kanayuki did aged and although her appearance doesn’t seemed to change, in the end, it was revealed that she did changed as her face changed from the same old cute and smooth to no longer cute and smooth one. Since in the fic she is Kaname’s sister, it was completely normal if she went too much angrier than ever.
Well, because I did not know how long a pureblood could live, I decided to make their life span around 200 – 500 years old. In this case, some of the purebloods could live as far as 500 years old before they die. Kaname died when he was around 300 – 400 years old. The exact age, you can just guess at what age. I actually don’t want to make it like that, but I don’t want Kaname to die because of suicide or murder, so yes, natural death it is.
As well for the time of human and vampires, I also decided to make 1 year in human time equal 10 years in vampire time. Meaning if 10 years in human time 100 years in vampire time. So after 10 years passed, it was actually 100 years in vampire time and during the 100 years, the battle of vampires occurred and it was a long time.
