All the girls were in the pool (or at the edge of the pool showing off for Artemis if you were Hera). Affy was racing Juliet and Nyx. Hestia was doing handstands on the bottom of the pool.

Artemis eventually came downstairs. " Butler says lunch is ready."

He glanced at the girls, his eyes lingering on Hera, who was wearing a bikini the size of a stamp. He raised his eyebrows in a disgusted manner.

Hera pouted.

He turned and left. " I Suppose we should follow him?"

Lunch was a strange affair. Five girls dressed in bikinis and sarongs and two men wearing black Armani suits.

Nobody said anything.

" Sorry about that girls, Artemis isn't used to having you around."

" Yeah you can tell."

" So what do you want to do now?"

" Can I just go and read somewhere?"

" Yeah sure there is a library upstairs second door to the right."

Of course Affy already knew this. When all the others had gone downstairs back to the pool, she crept upstairs towards the library. She hastily grabbed the first book she could find and then pressed her head to the wall. Nothing. She fetched a glass of the table in the middle of the room, pressing it against the wall.

" Artemis how much longer do I have to stay here? This is meant to be my holiday!"

" I'm sorry Holly, I don't know how to get rid of them."

Affy tried to keep from squealing but couldn't keep it in.

Artemis' room

" Did you here something Holly?"

" Yeah it was like a sort of squeal."

" I should probably go and check who it was. Probably Butler reading one of his beloved romance novels."

" Ok then go and check."

Affy froze. " Uh oh."

" Aphrodite is it?"

" Yes sir?"

" Please refrain from calling me sir. No was it you that made that strange noise?"

" Yes! I was, um, reading a book... And it was really exciting!"

Artemis glanced at the book she had in her hand." Norwegian leather industries of the 20th century."

" Umm, yeah!"

" Miss Aphrodite I am starting to get the feeling you are not telling the truth around me. In the kitchen this morning, you and Nyx seemed to know me."

" Of course not sir, um Artemis."

" Please do not lie miss. I will get the truth out of you somehow."

That’s when Affy noticed the hazy patch of air next Artemis.

" !!!!!!!!!!"

" Um pardon??!"

" Sorry. It's just the existence of fairies was just proved to me." Affy said pointing at the heat haze which everyone knows is Holly.

" The ... Oh dear."

Holly decided that the game was up. " How do you know about me Human?"

" I can show you if you like..."

They followed her towards the girl's room.

Affy reached down for the book on her bed.

" Artemis Fowl and the lost Colony..."

" Oh Frond."

" Oh my god you even talk like you do in the book Captain!"

" Technically I am not a captain anymore..."

" You will always be one to me though. Sorry about commander Root. I liked him too."

Artemis was leafing through the book. He read the bit about Minerva.

He fainted.
