Well, I finally picked up copies of MMPPP volumes 3 and 4, which inspired me to do this series of oneshots about the characters and scenes in canon that we tend to over look.
This first one is about Chieri and Satomu Doumoto, who I have dubbed. If they do have first names in canon, please tell me. They'd be better than mine ;)
Um, if anyone has any requests for oneshots of this kind, just tell me. I only have one or two other ones planned.
I don't own MMPPP. I never will. If I do, this will all become canon. How awesome is that?
“Chieri, are you still in here?” a voice called. The hotel door cracked open slightly, letting in some light, waiting for a response.
“Yes, I’m here” Chieri replied, smiling slightly as her husband entered the room. He clicked the light switch twice before joining his wife at the windowsill.
“Goodness, woman, why’s the candle all the way over there?” he asked, taking off his tuxedo’s jacket and throwing it onto the bed.
“I’m allergic to scented candles, Satomu” Chieri smiled grimly.
“Whatever, I need light in this room” Satomu sighed, standing up to go get the candle, much to Chieri’s dismay.
“Is the concert still on?” Chieri asked her husband, who scoffed in laughter.
“Eri, there’s a hurricane happening out there!” Satomu laughed “Of course there is!” Chieri scowled at his sarcasm.
“Well, I just got dressed up for nothing…I thought we were…” Chieri started before getting cut off by Satomu.
“I did too, Chi, but this is a severe storm…if it gets any stronger, we’ll be spending the night in the hotel’s basement” Satomu sighed, slinging an arm around Chieri to pull her closer. Chieri raised an eyebrow. “Are we really, or are you just pulling my leg?”
“Not sure, Eri, but we better get away from the window…a branch could come hurtling through the window any minute!” Satomu laughed. It was amazing how he could keep a cheerful demeanour when people’s homes and lives were being destroyed at that very minute.
“I might as well get out of these clothes…” Chieri sighed, slipping out of Satomu’s grasp.
“And into bed?” Satomu sniggered suggestively. Chieri sent him a glare, which she hoped he could see in their dimly lit room. He got the idea, though, and turned a bit quieter. Chieri had been fumbling around in the dark, unzipping her dress and finding a nightgown when Satomu had spoke up again.
“I hope my students are okay” he said nonchalantly. Chieri looked up from their suitcase.
“Your students?” she asked, momentarily stopping her search.
“Yes, I told them we’d be performing, and a lot of them said they were going to come…especially that Mitsuki kid” Satomu laughed “He said he was especially looking forward to seeing you play your organ!” he broke off, sniggering slightly. Chieri let out a laugh too.
“Oh, he’s so cute…” She sighed, untying her hair, ignoring the loud bang of a palm frond hitting their window.
“And I’m not?” Satomu mockingly scoffed. Chieri didn’t bother telling him off, and continued to get dressed in her night gown.
“I’m so tired!” Satomu sighed exasperatedly “I wish this storm would shut up and give us sleep!”
“I wish I could be playing, but you don’t see me complaining” Chieri sighed, doing up her nightgown’s zip.
“You are now…”
“Oh shut up, Satomu!”
Satomu smiled slightly as Chieri came to sit down next to him. He had slid an arm around her waist, when a young, weedy looking bellboy came into the room, holding a torch. Obviously the hotel corridor’s lights had broken down too.
“Um, Mr and Mrs Doumoto?” he asked, opening the door wider once seeing that the couple were both in the room.
“Yes?...” Chieri asked warily.
“We’ve just got news that the Hurricane’s become a level four, and we’d like you to come down into the cellar, for your safety”. The Doumotos nodded, before Satomu spoke up.
“Will it be a bother if we take our luggage? We have very important music sheets in there and…”
“Oh, that’s fine” The bellboy said, in a more hurried tone “But please be quick”. The Doumotos nodded, and walked across the room to get their two bags of luggage. As Chieri bent down to pick up hers, Satomu came around the other side of the bag, carrying his own, and leant over until his face was an inch from Chieri’s.
“It’ll be okay” he whispered, smiling sincerely, as he picked up her bag, following the bellboy out of their room.
“If your mother was here…” Satomu said the following morning after the storm, after being let out of the cellar “She’d have us all clean this up”
“She’s not that much of cleaning tyrant…” Chieri laughed “All your mother would do is sit in a corner and drink like absolutely nothing happened”. Satomu’s lips twitched into a smile as the couple continued to walk down the esplanade of the city’s beach, observing the damage of the hurricane. Apparently, the hurricane had been nice to their city, and let its entire wrath on a city to the south. They couldn’t imagine how terrible the damage on the southern city would be, if what the damage around them was to be considered ‘disastrous’.
“Damn shame” Satomu sighed, looking at the amount of waste that was washed up on the beach. “It’ll take one thousand clones of your mother to…”
“Oh, quit picking on my poor mother” Chieri laughed, feeling bad about laughing in the midst of all the destruction. While she kept walking, Satomu had stopped in his tracks.
“Chieri” he called out, making her backtrack her steps “Look at that down there” he said, inclining his head towards the direction of the beach. Chieri squinted at the beach, before clapping a hand to her mouth.
“Come on, Satomu!” Chieri exclaimed, jumping the steel fence separating the two from the beach. Satomu followed in a hurry. The two sprinted towards the small bundle of blankets, being slowly lapped at by the waves.
“I-I can’t believe this!” Chieri gasped, bending down to get a closer look “It washed up a baby!”
“A weird looking one, too…” Satomu said, bending down to look at the wispy orange hair of the baby in front of them.
“Oh, it’s even like he’s…glowing” Chieri gasped. She looked around, possibly for a parent of the child.
“I think we should report this to the police…” Chieri started.
“I think we should adopt him!” Satomu exclaimed.
“What?!” Chieri exclaimed “Why?”
Satomu grinned sheepishly. “Not sure why, myself, but something draws me to him…like we’re supposed to take care of him, you know?…” Satomu said, picking up the bundle of blankets.
“Yes…I do know” Chieri smiled, standing on her tip-toes to get a better look at the baby.
“Kaito”
“My name’s Chieri…”
“No, I think we should call him Kaito”
“Why?” Chieri asked.
“It’s the same intuition I had before” Satomu laughed, his smile getting wider as Kaito opened his hazel eyes.
“Awww” Chieri sighed “He’s beautiful”
“And, take a look at that…” Satomu breathed “It’s the sun!”
And as the clouds drifted way from the sun in a gust of wind, Aqua Regina smiled.
“Good luck, Satomu and Chieri…” she whispered, clutching her staff tighter to her chest
