Ok, so this is not the first story I have written, but it is the first that I've posted in a VERY long time. I had some troubles in the past and my writing has changed since then so if any of my former readers read this…Sorry. I hope everyone likes this, because I'm not super confident about it. No flames please. I'd rather hear nothing at all then be put down. Constructive criticism is wonderful.

Warning: I like Fluffy endings.

Thanks again…and I wish I owned Harry Potter, but I'm to cool to be JKR.

Beautiful in the Dark

He always loved to just look at me. I never knew if he was mocking me or if really wanted me. I never got to find out. He's gone now. Not that he'll be gone forever. I'm sure I'll see him again someday. The question is…do I want to?

Life was fun before he and I messed everything up. Of course Harry was miserable, but when was he not? Silly boys, Ron and Harry were always together and I tagged along for the ride. Silly me, thinking they cared at all. I helped them win that war, and that's all he wanted from me. I suppose I knew that during the entire thing.

Ron thought he loved me. That's what he said when he left to live with Lavender. I wasn't surprised. I had already fallen in love with someone else anyway. I didn't want him to leave though. The children needed a father. In the end he got them. I gave them up because they loved Lavender and their father. I'm sure they loved me too, but I couldn't make them live with seeing a stranger in their home, especially not one who their daddy despised. I'm sure they would have adjusted, but it was more comfortable at home with their father and someone they knew. They were already going through so much.

He used to whisper how beautiful I was in the dark. He would talk about my hair curly and golden, about my eyeshazel and bright with knowledge, and my body sultry and unforgettable. He made me feel beautiful in the dark, but when it was light, and he was gone, I was dead inside again. Maybe that's what he wanted to do to me.

He said he loved me the night that he left. I lay on the floor for hours after he walked out my door and cried. In the morning I went to Harry's to visit for the first time since the divorce. Rose and Hugo were there and they looked so happy to see me. I smiled so much that I almost began to cry again.

That night when I went home to my empty house he was in the living room. I couldn't say anything. I couldn't even move I just stared at him.

"I couldn't stay away." He said it so quietly that I almost didn't hear him. I continued to stare.

"I love you, Hermione." I felt as if he had slapped me in the face. I began to cry again. He came forward and I was in his arms again. I was home in his arms. He carried me upstairs and lay me down in my bed. When he came down on top of me I felt him shudder as I responded to him.

"I love you, Blaise."
