A Change of Feelings...
Chapter One: Encounter
A/n: Heeeyyyyyy! Well, this will be my very first, yes I said it, VERY FIRST Inuyasha fiction. Normally, I'm a huge fan in writing DragonBall Z fics, but I decided to write something new. And well here we go! Right now, I have the story My Secret Love and Unbelievable Threat in process. And now this story! Hope you think it's okay, I'm not a fantastic writer.. x.x So don't expect a fabulous author. BUT IN ANY CASE, HERE YOU GO! x
-----------
It was an okay day. The sun would stretch its warming ray out across the vast land every now and then, but would soon be covered by thunderstorm clouds which threatened to rain. A slight breeze would flow invisibly through the air and coil around any object in its endless path. A low roar-like noise was made, and a female with long, elegant black hair looked up at the sky with her glistening ebony eyes.
"Don't you think we should take cover now before it rains?" She said, looking at the other five.
"Kagome's got a point." A monk replied, looking up at the darkening sky above.
"So what's a little rain going to do to us? Maybe we'll get wet, it's not like we're going to melt or somethin'." A man with white hair and dog ears remarked, crossing his arms over his chest which held a red kimono.
"Come on, Inuyasha. Why're you always so difficult?" A little fox demon mentioned. "I'm with Kagome and Miroku on this one. I don't feel like getting wet."
"Pfft, whatever." The demon, obviously known as Inuyasha gave in and went to join the others. The group stuck together in search for the same goal. An evil man named Naraku, they searched for him to defeat this monster. But also, in search for the sacred jewl shards. The group tried their best to keep these jewls out of the reach of evil demons.
"So Sango.." Miroku began, sitting down under a giant oak and setting his staff against the trunk, "I hear you're going back to your village for a while, yes?"
Another female was with the group. Sango, the demon slayer. Her brother, Kohaku, was abducted by Naraku and his entire memory was erased. Sango's goal was to take back his brother and help him regain his memories. Long, chocolate hair was placed into a single hair tie, and her bangs were cut right above her glimmering eyes of determination. She nodded and sighed a bit, "Yes. Just for a visit, though. Kirara and I will head there later on today, if that's okay."
"Sure thing, Sango. We could all use a little break anyway." Kagome said with her bright, reassuring smile.
"Thanks, Kagome."
Kirara, who was laying down next to Sango, looked around at everyone. This little kitten-like demon didn't look like much of a challenge. However, this little critter could easily transform into the size of a tiger. Two tails were placed on its rear, which swayed gently in the grass.
"Here, Shippo. I got these snacks for you." Kagome handed over a bag of potato chips to the little fox demon.
"Gee, thanks Kagome!" The little boy was thrilled to have something scrumptious to eat!
Inuyasha walked to another tree, not bothered by the few drops of rain that drizzled onto him. Sitting down, he crossed his arms over his chest once more and rest his back against the dry trunk.
The reincarnation of Kikyo looked at this demon with a slight frown, as it bothered her that Inuyasha seemed upset. Standing up, she walked over to him and sat down. "What's bothering you, Inuyasha?"
He didn't answer.
Kagome looked at him a bit worried. His expression was blank and he didn't even bother looking at her. Oh great, what did I do now? She thought as she rest her head onto his right shoulder.
The half-demon looked at this woman with a bit of shock. He wanted to say something, but bit his tongue, hoping not to hurt her in any way. "Look, Kagome.."
"Hm?" Lifting her head, she pulle dher knees to her chest and looked at Inuyasha with a questioning expression. "What is it?"
"It's just... Are you sure you want to keep traveling with us? I mean, I'm not trying to make you go home or anything, but you do realize your life is at risk here, right?" There was a different tone in Inuyasha's voice, and this startled Kagome.
"Of course I know that, you silly. But I made the choice to stay here." Resting her chin onto her kneecaps, the girl sighed and closed her joyous chocolate eyes.
"But why? I mean.. I question myself this a lot. You and Naraku have nothing to do with each other. And you're from a different world. I just don't see the purpose in you being here." The demons' ears flattened onto his head as he refused to looked at the girl.
Normally, Inuyasha was never like this. He was always tough, high in pride, Mr. I'm going to kick your ass no matter what type of guy. To see him like this, it was definitely surprising. "So you're saying it's better if I go home and never return?"
"No, I'm just making sure you're making the right decision here. You've been so close to death more than once." Inuyasha's long, white hair gently rose in the oncoming breeze.
"I know this, Inuyasha. Why can't you see that I wish to stay here? Can't you see how much help I've been?" The girl began to sound disappointed.
Since the day Kagome met Inuyasha, she had a strange feeling about him. Even though at first they despised each other, the girl knew tehre was some kind of bond. Yet then at times, she'd question herself on that as well. This other female, Kikyo, would always come into play and Inuyasha would quickly leave Kagome for Kikyo.
"You are help. Sheesh, that's not what I'm saying! I just don't want to see you making any regrets."
"I haven't." After those words, Kagome stood up and walked to the others.
Sango, Miroku, Kirara, and Shippo watched them intently. They watched Kagome walk over to them and they saw how upset she was. She didn't really show it, though. Just an expression that showed no emotion. She sighed and picked up her bag.
"I'm going home for a day or so. I have to stock up on some more supplies. I'll see you guys later." Slinging the bag over her shoulder, she started out in the rain. Normally, when Kagome leaves home, it's because her and Inuyasha would get into an argument. But this time was different.
That tone in his voice.
I just don't see the purpose in you being here...
Those words echoed through her ears for a while. Luckily for her, it wasn't that long of walking in the rain. The well was about three feet away. Placing her hand onto the wooden framing, Kagome looked over her shoulder back at the others who were nothing but faint stick figures and sighed. Hoping into the well, it was only a matter of time before she was back in her era.
Opening the front door, Kagome walked in after taking off her wet shoes and placing them outside.
"Kagome, is that you?" The mother of the teen questioned, poking her head around the corner.
"Yeah mom." She replied, setting her belongings down.
"It's a surprise seeing you here, Kagome." A little boy's voice said, walking up to her.
"Hey there, Sota. How are you doing?" The girl walked by her brother without even waiting for an answer. As she walked by, her right hand was placed onto her brother's head and she messed around with his hair before walking up stairs and to her room.
The little boy was left with question as he didn't recognize this mood of Kagome.
Walking into her room, she was beginning to grow frustrated and angry as she thought about it. "What a blind bastard. Why can't he see that I want to stay? I'm a help to everyone there as well." Falling backwards, she allowed her back to collide with the comforting cusion of her bed.

"So Inuyasha," Sango began as she watched the demon approach the group. "What did you do this time?"
Inuyasha shrugged. "Nothing. I just asked her what her purpose was for being here. I mean, her and Naraku... They just don't have anything to do with each other. You don't find Naraku seeking out Kagome, do you?" Inuyasha snarled a bit.
"YOU IDIOT." Shippo shouted, stoping on Inuyasha's foot. "Why do you always have to do this to Kagome? You two-timing little fool!" The little fox demon began to repeatedly punch Inuyasha in the leg. He was unaware that the half demon picked him up. Opening hi right eye, Shippo saw he was at eye level of Inuyasha. But that same frown was glued to his face.
"Watch it, Shippo." Inuyasha threatened.
"Or what?" Shippo replied with a snort.
As the two argued, Miroku and Sango just sighed. "Well, I'm going to go to my village now. You three behave." The woman glared at everyone, especially Miroku.
"Why must you leer at me like that, Sango?" The monk asked, as his right hand reached around to her rear and began to fondle.
All you heard was a loud smacking sound. Miroku smiled and laughed nervously as he rubbed the spot where Sango hit him.
"Goodbye." Sango said, with an irritated tone. Kirara and Sango headed out to the demon slayer's village.
Great, now what am I supposed to do with these guys?
A sweat drop slid down the back of Miroku's head as he watched them argue.
-----------
Kagome got up from her bed after a good hour of thinking.
Thinking about how Inuyasha and her had first met.
Thinking about her chances with him.
Thinking about the friends she had made.
But most of all, thinking about Inuyasha's comment to her.
"Oh man.. I need a good, hot bath." The woman said, walking to the door.
Reaching the bathroom, the woman turned the knobs of the bath to where hot water would flow. Discarding her clothing, the girl hopped in after putting bubbles in the water.
Closing her eyes, Kagome allowed her body to sink into the boiling liquid. A small smile formed over her face as she closed her bright eyes. It was like as if she were washing all of her worries away in this bath.
It was a good thirty minutes before Kagome finally got out. When she did, she grabbed her green robe and coiled that around her frame, while at the same time taking a white towel and wrapping that around her head.
Walking out of the door, she was surprised to see Sota standing at the door. "What do you want?" She asked, irritated.
"Just wanted to make sure you were okay. I was worried about you because you seemed so upset. So I went downt he street to the floral shop and got you some flowers in hope you'd get better!" The brother handed his sister a boquet of white roses.
"Aww! Sota, they're wonderful!" Leaning down, Kagome gave her brother a peck on the cheek and hugged him tightly. Normally, Sota would never do this for her!
"It was nothing, sis." The little brother began to blush from the response his sister gave him.
"You know what?" The girl began, "I'm feeling better already! I think I'll get dressed and head back to the fudel era. Thank you so much for making me feel better!"
Sota felt very accomplished and skipped down the stairs to go eat his dinner.
Actually, Kagome planned on heading back anyways. She gave it some thought and realized that she shouldn't be mad at Inuyasha. He was only looking after her, after all. So why should she be upset? I guess it was just that tone in his voice that made me feel uneasy. Kagome thought, heading down the hall and back into her room.
There, she got dressed and gathered everything she needed.
-------
"See, look what you did! Now Kagome won't come back!" Shippo shouted as he watched Inuyasha pace back and forth impatiently in front of the well.
"Shut up, Shippo!" The demon replied, quite angered.
"Hmp... You really are blind to other peoples feelings, aren't you?" The little fox demon said, crossing his arms over his chest and looking off to the side.
"What do you mean?" The half bred snapped.
"Come, let's go for a walk." Shippo demanded, trying to sound grown-up.
The two went off for their little discussion. Just as they were about fifty feet away, Kagome threw her bag over into the grass, then she herself hopped out of the well and into the different world.
Night overtook the sky, and all you could see were the glistening stars and galaxies which shone with intense light. The moon looked over the vast grassland as it cast shadows on trees and other objects.
Kagome saw Shippo and Inuyasha walking away and smiled. Her mouth opened to yell for them, but as she did, someone placed their hand forcefully over Kagome's mouth and drug her off into the forest...

A/n: Yeah, first chapter. I know, I know, boring! Haha. Well, the chapters later on will get more interesting. And also be aware, this is, again said, my first inuyasha fiction. So don't be too harsh on me. But please review to let me know if I should continue on with the story! Much love!
