Introduction
Xenos Ouranios is a young man whose life had been turned upside down at the tender age of 18.
A week after his birhday, his parents sell him to a group of scientists who conduct experiments on him, changing him in mind, body, and soul. After a few years, he escapes and tries to find his place in the world once more.
But he is no longer the man he once was. In fact, he is no longer human. Cursed to live for the rest of eternity as an outsider, his only wish is to find peace in both mind and body. When the Valar offer him a chance to escape the chaos that surrounds him, he is thrown into a new world and has an adventure that changes him forever.
Chapter 1: Below me, lies chaos
This place was once beautiful. Full of life and everywhere you looked, it was green. Lush forests and vast plains and various species of animals roamed freely.
But now...
"Now its nothing." I muttered as I walked across the roof of a large building, gazing down at the chaos below. "And I am forced to suffer this for the rest of eternity." I added bitterly.
It was November 2nd, 4551 AD and I was currently in New York City. I was born on June 1st, 1989... 2,562 years ago in California, United States... Why am I still alive? Well...
On my 18th birthday during the year 2007, my family sold me, Xenos (stranger) Ouranios (heavenly), to a group of scientists who experimented on me for almost ten years. During that time, they had injected me with several different serums and they caused several mutations in me.
The first was regeneration, I could heal myself in less than an hour, regardless of my injury. They tested their theory by breaking every bone in my body and then monitoring me until it healed. It was painful and they continued the procedures for a week before their next experiments.
Then they mutated my body. My ears were pointed and my bones became thinner, lighter, almost hollow. My canines grew in length and my muscles were stronger even though they were thinner and longer. I grew a few more inches as well, from 5'8" I streatched to 6'1" and my features became more defined. My hair lost all color and became almost white with hints of light blue, and my eyes changed from warm honey to cold silver. And to top it all off, they attatched a pair of large silver wings on my back that I could extract and retract upon will. The procedure for my wings was excruciatingly painfull... and I was kept consous the entire time as they fused the bones together.
The third and most horrifying thing they did to me was give me immortality. I had never wished to be any older than 90 and immortality was what I saw as a curse. But that didn't stop them from injecting the serum into my bloodstream and stopping my body and soul from aging. It was the most traumatic thing I had ever experienced. It was as if I was being held in a room with no doors or windows and I felt that I would never be able to escape and find peace in the afterlife. I'm very certain that I will never rest in heaven with my ancestors, escpecially after they electrocuted me with ten thousand volts of electricty, frying my brain and body, and then waking up the next day as healthy as I was before.
The next and last mutation they made on me was something that I used to my advantage. Several more serums were injected into my bloodstream and when I woke up, I felt more aware of myself and my surroundings. My senses were hightened and I felt a strange new power in me. I discovered I could manipulate water, air, electricity, and shadows. I then unleased my anger and hatred upon the scientists and escaped after killing them.
I ran as far away as I could, I could not risk being seen in public until I had further control of my new powers. Sure, I completely despised the human race now, but I still didn't want to harm the innocent.
It was the year 2047 when I escaped and 2053 when I showed my face in public as Nicholas Hughes. I forever looked the same, a 22 year old man with (dyed) black hair, pointed ears, and silver eyes. My skin was always pale and I never gained any weight, but I was always growing stronger. My hair had to be constantly dyed to keep it colored. Without it, it would look like strands of silver and light blue. My eyes, depending on the fake profile I was playing, I would hide behind colored contacts of various hues.
Over the centuries, I tried different things to try and find death. But, as you can see, they were all in vain. And I haven't even aged a day after the experiment for immortality.
I had to constantly move around and change my name to make sure nobody discovered my secrets, and when they did, I killed them. I never left any tracks after the murders, but I was glad I only had to kill a few.
As of now, I was getting ready to move again, but I had a feeling something big was going to happen.
Tired of gazing into the chaos below me, I retired to my apartment in the complex I was standing on.
As I opened the door, I felt a strange presence in the room. I closed the door behind me and called out "Who's there?"
"Someone you should not fear." came my answer. The voice was deep and masculine, but it was calm and soothing.
I turned and saw nothing. "Who are you? What do you want?" I asked.
"I am called Namo and I am here to ask you of a favor." the voice responded.
"Ask away." I said, shrugging my shoulders.
"I have come to ask if you would like to help us eliminate a certain evil that threatens to wipe out mankind."
"Well, I'm not exactly fond of mankind, what makes you think I would save them? And what do you mean by 'us'? What exactly are you 'Namo'?"
"All will be explained in due time. If you aid us, we will grant you what you desire most."
"So, if I help defeat this evil, you will allow me to die?" I asked, my voice somewhat hopeful.
"If that is what you desire after completing the task. Do you accept?"
I paused and closed my eyes, contemplating, then opened them and nodded. "I accept."
And then everything turned black.
But where was I? I had no idea. I had seen all of the oceans and seas, but this was alien to me, like I wasn't even in my own world anymore.
I stood and slung my backpack onto my back and lifted both suitcases, if I was going to find out where I was, I was going to have to find someone who could tell me. I took of at a sprint until I came to a dock and small town. I stopped and looked at it warily, I was still unsure about being out in public. I cautiously entered the small town and saw that there was nobody around. I frowned and when I felt no life in the area, save for a few. I decided to seek them out and came upon a small hut made of cemented sand and a roof made of dead palm branches.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" I called out.
A man came out and froze when he saw me. I also froze when I saw him. He was tall and thin with long dark hair, blue eyes, and pointed ears like mine. The ears, that's what shocked me.
He asked me a question in a strange language I could not understand. I shook my head and said "I don't understand your language."
"You are Eldar and you do not understand our native tongue? That is strange, much like your appearance." he said, indicating my clothes.
"Can you tell me where I am? And what is Eldar?" I asked.
"The Eldar are also called Elves and you are at the Grey Havens. Do you wish to sail to Valinor or is there another reason that you have come here?" he asked.
"Valinor? What is that?"
"The undying lands... Who are you?"
"... My name is Damien." I said, deciding to use a fake name.
"Lord Damien, I am Círdan. You do not seem to have come from around here." he said, giving me a wary look.
"I'm not, someone named 'Namo' sent me here, I think." I replied.
"Namo?! You have been sent by the Valar?!" he asked, his eyes wide in surprize.
"Valar? What are they?" I asked, frowning. "What country is this? What is the date for that matter?"
"This is Middle Earth and it is September 25th, 3018 of the third age."
"I've got no idea what you mean, it was November 2nd 4251 last I knew."
"Perhaps I can send you to someone who may be able to answer your questions."
I nodded and he motioned me inside his home. He told me to take a seat on a chair and he disappeared in another room. When he came back, he gave me an envelope and a map. "I have marked a trail for you to follow to get to your destination, Rivendell, and this is a letter for Lord Elrond. He may be able to help you." He then handed me a small package and added "This should be enough food for you until you reach Imladris, I hope you get the answers you seek."
I stood and smiled at Círdan. "Thank you, Círdan. I shall be on my way then." I said and left.
I left the empty town and dock and began to follow the path oulined on the map.
