The Light They Left Behind
Chapter 4
I stood by the refreshments table ,staring over my cup full of punch, at Tommy and Sasha who were now talking to Darius.
I noticed Tommy subtly glance at me a few times, I pretended not to notice.
He looked at me again and moved his head to the toilets, like he wanted me to follow him, which I did.
"Hi, Tommy." I mumbled, shyly.
"Jude..." He leant forward as to reach for me but pulled back quickly.
"She's pretty." I said, obviously referring to Sasha.
"Jude, don't." He said, sadness in his eyes.
"Didn't take you long, did it?" I asked bitterly. He ignored my question.
"How are you and Jamie?"
He asked, also bitterly.
"Were great. He's the best boyfriend I could ever have." He winced slightly.
I was actually lying. He didn't do anything wrong, he just didn't do anything right. There was no spark between us like when I was with Tommy, but I wasn't going to tell him that. For some reason I wanted to make him jealous.
"Well Sasha's the best girlfriend I could ever have." He told me.
"I missed you." I slipped before I realised. He smiled sadly.
"I missed you too." He said in a way that made me want to hug him tightly and never let him go.
"At least your over me now." I said, for some reason feeling disappointed. He just stared at me and shook his head as if saying 'no'.
"You think I'm over you?" He almost shouted.
"Well Sasha..." I trailed.
"Sasha was supposed to help to get over you but its not working. It killed me to see you with Jamie and to know that your both so happy."
"Happy? You think I'm happy? I'm miserable with Jamie. He's not the man who gives me butterflies when he just looks at me, he's not the man who makes me so jealous when he's just talking to another woman. He's not you!"
Tears were then streaming down my face continuously and he looked close to tears himself.
Suddenly, he pulled me forward so that are face's were millimetres apart, I felt his breath on my lips and almost fainted.
He cupped my cheek and leaned forward...
"Hurry up in there. I'm practically peeing my pants." We heard Speid's moan for the other side of the door, which made us jump apart quickly.
"I, erm. I have to go." I said rapidly. I pushed him out of my way and didn't look back when I heard him call my name.
"You alright, girl." Jamie asked, trying to hug me.
"Don't call me that." I said, sobbing slightly.
"Jude..." He wasn't sure what to say.
"Just give me some space." I said, harshly. I stormed out of G-Major with all eyes on me.
I sat down at the first bench I saw, then broke down in hysterics.
I felt a warm hand on my shoulder and turned around to see Tommy.
I turned so my back was facing him.
"I don't want you to see me like this. I'm a mess." I told him, wiping away my tears.
"You'll always be beautiful to me." He said, sweetly. I turned to face him.
"Oh, god..." He said, a hand over his eyes. I started sobbing again.
"I'm joking, I'm joking." He said, laughing slightly. I turned to face him again.
"Yeah, beautiful."
I moved so I could rest my head on his chest and we just lay there in silence.
There was so much to say between us, but not right now.
