Chapter 3

An hour passed and Katara’s fever decreased, only a bit.

“So what are we going to do when she wakes up?” asked Zuko

“I can try and calm her” replied Iroh.

“And what if her brother, or the Avatar come” asked Zuko.

“Let them take her” responded Iroh.

Just then noises came from where Katara laid; Zuko and Iroh looked at her. Katara was tossing and turning, a look of fear and pain was on her face.

“A nightmare caused by the fever” said Iroh as he quickly walked over to the girl.

He placed a cool wet cloth on Katara’s head, but she sat up quickly as soon as the wet cloth touched her forehead. Her eyes opened and she Iroh and Zuko in front of her. She stood up and began to look for a water source. But Katara swayed where she stood, Zuko caught her before she fell.

“Stupid water peasant” said Zuko

Katara was still awake, just barley, she was too weak to move. But not too weak not talk.

“Water peasant, like I haven’t heard the before” said Katara weakly and sarcastically.

Iroh tried to calm her by changing the subject.

“So you are the Avatar’s waterbending master?” he asked.

“Yes, and you are the man who was trying to protect the moon spirit at the North Pole” replied Katara “What is your name?”

“My name is Iroh” he replied “And may I ask what is yours?”

“Katara” she responded.

“See Zuko she does have a name” said Iroh with a small laugh.

Katara smirk and closed her eyes, she fell asleep instantly. Zuko laid her on the ground and covered her with blanket.
