Episode 18

Barking up the Wrong Tree

A school bus drove by a small freeway by the woods. The school bus was the only vehicle in the area. Lumpy was driving the bus as he hummed to himself. The kids were all sitting in the bus. A whole bunch of bags and suitcases were on top of the racks on the ceiling of the bus. “I can’t believe that we’re going on a field trip for the entire weekend! Too bad they wouldn’t let me bring my skateboard to the field trip,” Cuddles said to Toothy.

As trees and mountains sped by, Lumpy suddenly realized a closed road sign. “What? Why is the road closed?” Lumpy asked himself. “Oh, that road is the fastest way to get to the field trip,” Lumpy said to himself as he drove towards the blocked off road. Lumpy looked back and forth with his eyes suspiciously. “Hmm, well there’s no one else here, and if no one finds out that it was me then I won’t get in trouble,” Lumpy said to himself.

Lumpy took a deep breath, and then he backed up the school bus. “What’s Lumpy doing?” Cuddles asked as he realized that the bus was backing up.

“Oh my god, I think he’s going to smash through the blocked off road!” Toothy said.

Lumpy stomped on the gas pedal and smashed through the blocked off street. But there were a bunch of spikes on the road and immediately all of the tires popped. “What the?” Lumpy asked until suddenly the bus tipped over. The bus then shook around and bounced up and down as he rolled across the street. The kids were bouncing around in the bus and suddenly all of the bags fell off the racks and bounced around, too.

“AAAGGHHH!!!” Toothy screamed as a suit case smashed into his left arm, knocking it off. Blood sprayed out of the stub of Toothy’s arm, and then suddenly a suit case smashed into his leg and knocked it off. Then Sniffles suit case opened up and as Toothy bounced off the walls and ceiling, a model rocket smashed into Toothy’s eye. “WAAAAAGGGHHHH!!!!!” Toothy screamed in anguish as tears ran down his cheeks. Then Toothy smashed into an empty seat of the bus so hard that his head smashed off. His decapitated body sat in the seat while Toothy’s severed head landed on Flaky’s lap. “AAAAAGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!” Flaky screamed as she whimpered in fear.

Everybody screamed in horror as the bus rolled off the street and suddenly fell front first down a cliff. Luckily the bus smashed into a bunch of trees, so the bus was now stuck in a bunch of trees. Bus time was running out, the bus was slowly falling down in between the trees.

“AGGGHH!!!” Lumpy screamed as he picked up a duffel bag and a suit case (those are the things that he brought for the field trip) and he ran to the back of the bus and jumped out the emergency exit door screaming. Everyone else jumped out after him. Right after everyone got out of the bus; the bus fell to the ground and plummeted down. Then a loud explosion was heard from below and everyone gasped in horror.

An few hours later…

Lumpy, Cuddles, Mime, Flaky, Sniffles and Giggles were walking in a line, carrying only one bag each, except for Flaky who was only hugging a blue teddy bear and whimpering while Mime didn’t bring anything in the first place. Sweat was pouring down their faces. The road seemed to go on forever, and no sign of any form of life could be found anywhere. Not a single car had passed by them. Lumpy started licking his lips.

“Aha!” Lumpy said as he pointed to a sign that read ‘Summer Camp’.

“Wait, hold on,” Sniffles said. “Look, this camp has been abandoned,” Sniffles said as he pointed to a big sign next to it that read ‘Warning! Restricted Area!”

“Huh, how come I didn’t see that sign?” Lumpy asked himself. “Oh well, it’s better than nothing,” Lumpy said. “Okay kids, let’s just say that the field trip has been moved to this abandoned camp,” Lumpy said. “Now look, it’ll probably take like a jillion years until another car comes by, and since this camp is abandoned I don’t think the phones will work. So instead, the field trip will not last for only the weekend. Oh no, it appears that our little field trip will now have to last for…uh…ten katillion years,” Lumpy explained.

“Uh, katillion isn’t a real number,” Sniffles pointed out.

“It’s a real number if I want it to be!” Lumpy said. “Okay kids, let’s go to camp,” Lumpy said as we walked towards the camp with the kids following. A broken down gate was in front of the camp. “Hmm,” Lumpy thought as he tapped the gate with his finger. The entire gate immediately fell down. Everyone walked towards the camp. “Oh my god, what is this place?” Lumpy asked as he stared at the camp. All of the cabins were old and broken down and were ruined with termite damage and rot. Bear claw scratches were on ever cabin, and so was dried blood. “Huh, now who would abandon a camp like this?” Lumpy asked until an entire cabin fell to pieces.

Later that night…

Everyone was inside of an old cabin roasting a fire and telling scary stories. “I’ll be right back,” Giggles said as she got up. She grabbed a flashlight and walked outside. She then walked into an outhouse.

A few minutes later…

Giggles walked out of the outhouse, and suddenly her flashlight’s battery wore out. “Huh?” Giggles asked as she shook her flashlight. “Oh great, now what?” Giggles asked as she threw the flashlight on the ground. Suddenly loud growling noises were heard from behind her. “Hello? Is anyone out there?” Giggles asked in a petrified voice.

Meanwhile at the cabin…

“Okay, now it’s my turn for a scary story,” Cuddles said from inside the cabin as he grabbed Lumpy’s flashlight. Suddenly a loud shriek was heard from outside the cabin.

“What was that?” Lumpy asked.

“Uh-oh, I think that was Giggles,” Flaky whimpered.

“Stay here kids, I’ll be right back,” Lumpy said as he grabbed a flashlight. “Hello? Giggles?” Lumpy asked as he walked around camp. “Is anyone out here?” Lumpy asked. Suddenly he stepped on something wet and he heard a liquid drip. “What the?” Lumpy asked as he looked down, only to realized that he stepped in a puddle of blood. “AGH!” Lumpy screamed. Then he looked a little farther and found Giggles on the ground crying.

“Something attacked me,” Giggles said as Lumpy helped her up. She had three large scratches going across her stomach.

“What? What was it?” Lumpy asked. Giggles froze right there. “Hello?” Lumpy asked. “Giggles, are you okay?” Lumpy asked.

“It’s behind you!” Giggles screamed as she ran towards the cabin.

“What the?” Lumpy asked as he looked up, only to see a giant, brown wild grizzly bear standing over him on two legs. (The same bear from the TV episode ‘Take a Hike’) “AAAAAGGGHH!!!!!!” Lumpy screamed as the giant bear roared at him in hunger. Lumpy then ran towards the cabin as the grizzly bear chased after him. Lumpy suddenly tripped on Giggles’ flashlight. “AAAGGGGHHHH!!!!!!” Lumpy screamed as the bear grabbed a hold of him and attacked him. “WAAAGGHH!!!! AAAAGGHH-HAAA-HAA-HAAAAGGHH!!!!!” Lumpy screamed in pain and horror as the bear mauled and slashed at him. Blood splashed everywhere as the bear had Lumpy in its clutches and bite into him. The bear then threw Lumpy on the ground, and Lumpy immediately got up and ran into the cabin screaming.

Lumpy slammed the door behind him and pushed a bed into the door, blocking it. Lumpy was covered in scratches. Lumpy was breathing heavily as he looked out a window. The bear wasn’t in sight. Lumpy sighed in relief as he wiped the sweat off his forehead with the back of his hand. “What happened?” Sniffles asked.

“There’s a wild bear out there! We need to block all the windows and doors!” Lumpy screamed. Suddenly the bear’s paw smashed through the wall. “AGGGHH!!” Lumpy screamed. The bear then looked through the hole in the wall that it created. “Die you stupid bear!” Lumpy screamed as he ran towards the hole with the stick. He then jabbed Giggles in the eye.

“Ow!!! That’s me, stupid!” Giggles screamed.

“Oh, sorry,” Lumpy replied. “I meant to jab the bear’s eye.” Giggles then snatched the stick out of Lumpy’s hands.

“Give me that, I don’t trust you with this,” Giggles said as she shoved the stick in the hole. There was no reaction. “Huh?” Giggles asked as she peeked through the hole. Suddenly the bear ran up to the wall and snatched Giggle’s eye. “AAAAGGGHHH!!!!” Giggles screamed as the bear pulled her into the wall. Giggles then forced her head back and her eyeball ripped out.

“AAAGGHH!!!!” Giggles screamed as blood poured down her eye socket. Then the bear’s paw smashed through the wall and grabbed Giggles’ head and pulled her through the wall. Giggles screamed in horror as Mime and Flaky grabbed onto her legs and tried to pull her back. Flaky whimpered as the bear pulled her through the wall. Suddenly Giggles’ skin ripped out and Flaky and Mime fell backwards. The bear was now holding Giggles’ skin in its arms and it ground angrily.

“AAAAGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!” Flaky screamed in horror as she looked at Giggles’ dead, skinless body lying on the ground. “That’s it, we need to get out of here,” Lumpy said as he moved the bed out of the way and opened the front door. But the bear was standing right in front of the door. “AGH!” Lumpy screamed as he slammed the door shut. “Okay, let’s get out from the window,” Lumpy said as he ran to a window at the back of the cabin. He opened the window, only to see the bear’s face right in front of him. “AGH!” Lumpy screamed as he slammed the window shut. “Smart bear,” Sniffles remarked.

“That’s it, we’re going this way,” Lumpy said as he jumped out of a window on the side of the cabin. He screamed as he landed on the ground. Lumpy looked around and realized that the bear was gone. Lumpy signaled the kids to come out the window, and Cuddles, Flaky, Sniffles and Mime climbed out the window. Lumpy looked around, and suddenly he heard a loud growl from above him. “What the?” Lumpy asked as he looked up. The bear was standing on the roof! “AAAGGGHHH!!!” Lumpy screamed as the bear roared and jumped off the roof. It swooped down towards them and smashed on top of Mime.

The bear lifted it up its claws and ripped Mime to shreds. Mime couldn’t escape; the bear was standing on top of him, and as Mime “screamed” without any noise coming from his mouth, the bear bit into his skull as blood and internal organs splattered on the ground. “What do we do?” Sniffles asked as the bear mangled Mime to death. “Aha! The tower!” Lumpy said as he found a small tower. The tower had a small door on the bottom and on the top. The top door lead to a small balcony that was held up with two wooden poles that stuck into the ground.

Everyone ran into the tower and climbed up the stairs and ran into the balcony. “There, we’re safe up here, kids,” Lumpy said. The bear ran up to the tower roaring angrily. Then it started clawing at the wooden poles that held up the balcony. It swiped at the pole once and wood shaving blasted everywhere, and already the pole had a huge gash in it. It took one more swipe at the pole, and immediately it snapped it half. The balcony tipped over and Flaky fell down.

“AAAAAAAGGGHHH!!!!!” Flaky screamed as she smashed into the ground on her back. Her quills got stuck into the ground so she couldn’t get up. Flaky screamed and whimpered as she struggled to get up as the bear ran towards her.

Flaky shrieked in fear as the bear stood over her and roared angrily. It then slashed at her face and all of the skin on her face immediately ripped off from that one blow. The bear that slashed at her stomach and ripped open her belly. It then slashed at her innards and all of her internal organs and blood flew into the air and splattered onto the ground. Flaky screamed one last time as her limbs and organs flew everywhere until finally the bear sliced out her heart. Blood splattered all over the bear and the ground as Flaky vomited blood and died.

“AAAGGHH!!!” Lumpy, Cuddles and Sniffles screamed in horror at that horrific sight. Then the bear swiped at the second pole. The balcony tipped over more and Sniffles rolled off the balcony, screaming and crying in panic. The bear opened its mouth and Sniffles’ head landed right in the bear’s mouth. The bear smashed its jaws into Sniffles’ skull and immediately his decapitated body fell to the ground. The bear chewed up Sniffles skull and swallowed it down. Then it gave one more blow to the pole and the balcony fell down.

“AAAGGGHHH!!!” Lumpy screamed as he landed on the ground. Cuddles landed next to him. The bear then stood over them and roared furiously. “AGH!” Lumpy screamed as he got up and ran towards the forest, Cuddles following him. “Uh, here!” Lumpy said in a panicked voice. “Up the tree!” Lumpy screamed as he climbed up a tree. Cuddles followed Lumpy and ran up the tree. The bear then stood under the tree and roared up at Lumpy and Cuddles, who were sitting on a branch. The bear slashed at the tree over and over again. Cuddles and Lumpy just looked down at it.

Several hours later…

The sun slowly rose as Cuddles and Lumpy woke up. Lumpy yawned and looked down. The bear was still slashing at the tree. “Hah! What a dumb bear! No matter how many times it does that, the tree isn’t going to fall down,” Lumpy said. Suddenly the tree tipped over and smashed into the ground.

“AAAGHH!!” Lumpy screamed as the bear stood in front of them and roared in fury. “Hurry, up this tree!” Lumpy screamed as he climbed up another tree. Cuddles climbed up and sat next to Lumpy on a branch. “There, we’re save up here, boy,” Lumpy said. There was no response. “Uh hello, Cuddles I’m talking to you,” Lumpy said as he looked to the side. “AGGGHHH!!” Lumpy screamed. The bear was sitting next to him. Cuddles was in it’s mouth. The bear then spit out Cuddles’ body and it landed on the ground and blood splattered out. Cuddles’ body was all chewed up and torn to pieces.

“AAAAGGHHH!!!” Lumpy screamed until the branch snapped off the tree. The bear and Lumpy landed on the ground. Lumpy smashed into the ground so hard that his legs broke. Lumpy got up and moaned and grunted it pain as he shook from the horrid pain. He coughed out blood, and then suddenly he looked up, only to see the bear standing over him. The bear roared in hunger as Lumpy screamed in dread. The bear slashed its claws into his stomach and grabbed his intestines. The bear then slurped up his intestines like spaghetti, and mangled him with its claws. Blood and internal organs splattered everywhere as Lumpy screamed in pain.

The bear then picked up Lumpy and smashed its jaws onto Lumpy’s skull. It then tore out his brain and spit it out. Lumpy’s brain then splattered on the ground, and then the bear threw Lumpy on the ground. Lumpy cried and screamed as he tried to crawl away. But the bear grabbed him and dragged him back. Lumpy screamed in horror, and the bear then bent down smacked Lumpy’s spinal chord right out of his body. Lumpy vomited out his own blood and his own heart and finally he died.

The bear then walked away with on of Lumpy’s severed arms in its mouth. Then another tree suddenly tipped over and smashed on top of Lumpy’s dead body.

One swallow doesn’t make a summer!
