A.N.: When I was writing this last part, I know I was trying to tell something with it and it was something more than a private joke about Leon doing the white fence and the fact that Cloud got a cat; but now after I reread it, I don’t know anymore what that message was, oh…well…I decided to leave it as it is anyway.
Epilogue (just a little meaningless something):
It was a hot, sunny afternoon and Leon for a hundred time asked himself, what kind of stupidity made him to decide that it was a perfect day for making the fence. He hammered the nail in the wood, permanently setting the pine plank on the two horizontal rods that were placed around the house, marking the yard, before he stood up from his kneeling position.
He took the white T- shirt, which he removed from himself somewhere between his hammering and was now tucked behind his heavy tool belt which hung from his hips, and wiped with it the perspiration from his face and neck, then tucked it back in the belt again.
He tugged on his low ponytail which kept his brown hair from his face and was trying to decide if he should go for a drink indoor, because he was really thirsty and he had already emptied the bottle of water he brought with him, or should he finished with the fence, only five planks more needed to be nailed in to place.
“Meow.” Two small white pawns touched Leon’s ankle and stabbed the sharp claws in the edge of his tight washed-up jeans.
Leon looked down, smiled and bent down to grab the little fluffy and white with orange and grey spots thing that Cloud brought home the second day after he expressed the wish to have one, lifting it up.
Two hands sneaked around Leon’s waist and turned him around. A soft, quick peck on the lips followed before Leon was confronted with big sky blue eyes with a naughty spark in them
“Cloud.” Leon smiled. He hadn’t heard the blond approaching.
“Leon.” Corners of Cloud’s lips turned upwards in to a soft smile.
“Meow.”
Cloud’s hand did a quick soft pat on the little cat’s head, before he took it away from Leon’s hands and put it down.
“Where are Riku and Sora?” Leon asked. Weren’t they supposed to come with Cloud?
“They are saying goodbye.” Cloud went with his palms in slow strokes down over Leon’s arms. “Kari just came for Sora, something about the mouse.”
“Oh. A shame. He just came here.”
“Yea…well.” Cloud palms reached Leon’s wrist, then he intertwined their fingers together and bend toward Leon, his warm breath caressing Leon’s ear and skin. “Good news is that for a moment we have a house for ourselves. Your white provincial fence will have to wait.”
Leon was pulled toward the house, the slight teasing, very promising grin that was decorating Cloud’s face erased any thoughts that Leon had about Riku and Riku’s disappointment or about doing the fence. That can all wait. Yea, that can all wait. Because right now in this moment live was as perfect as it could be and after so many years of struggling, of searching the place which he could call his home, he finally found it. In Cloud’s arms. With Cloud. And that was all that was really important.
The end (really)
