And I Said to Myself, “Self,” I said…

--

Well, here he was.

In the air, floating after the Avatar on a Fire Nation balloon, the wind blowing through his long hair and tangling it further, after making a decision which pretty much guaranteed him certain death.

Shit, Zuko thought with a groan, palm meeting head with a loud slap; shit, shit, shit.

Not only had his magnificent rescue plan gone completely awry… he had just had to threaten his father, Ozai, the Fire Lord, leader of the greatest military in the world. He had to go against him. All because of that stupid girl.

Wait.

What?

No!

NOT because of that stupid girl; why was he even thinking of her at a time like this?

Zuko crossed the small basket in an idiotic kind of fury; why the hell did he think that waterbender girl was the source of his change of heart?

His uncle was the one who had convinced him.

But she played a big part, his subconscious told him nastily, poking at his brain with vicious and disgusting truths.

The blue eyes had compelled him. The soft fingers had caressed his face. The powerful voice had shouted its anger at him with immeasurable fury and disappointment…

Yes, he acquiesced to himself miserably, she had been a large factor as to why he’d left the Fire Nation.

Remind me to yell at her when they finally land.

Author’s Note: This is crap, utter crap; but I felt like writing something more, and I haven’t updated this in a while. I was just wondering how Zuko felt as he left the Fire Nation… probably more than a little stupid, to start.
