FIRST CHAPTER IS IMPORTANT.

Against all odds.

Chapter one.

The beginning.

Millions of years ago there was once a city filled with a race called the Avalonians, ruled by Ezra and Valinor Cortez. The city mourned the death of their queen Ezra the guardian of Avalon and Earth. Before she died the aged queen bore them a child. A young girl, who would become the next heir to the Avalonian throne.

Athena.

The next guardian.

The controller of the Proto-Materia.

Keeper of Omega and Chaos.

Avalon.

Deep behind a vast amount of woods, stood a citythousands of years old. Up on a hill overlooking the forest sat a man with purple wings. His eyes were closed as a small smile graced his lips, peace. Heavenly peace. This was just how he liked it, no spoilt brat to bug him left, right and centre. Mind you he pitied her keeper

Chaos.

Chaos.

CHAOS.

The man shot awake and stared at the green eyed girl in front of him, damn there goes his peace. He stood up and glared at the young girl before him, her blonde hair falling in front of her face. He glared as he stretched out his wings.

“Chaos daddy told me to come get you.” The girl told him.

“Athena shut up will you?” Chaos snapped at her.

“No. Daddy says you have to come now.” She replied pulling on his wings.

“Hey what have i told you about that?”

“Don’t.”

“Then listen to me. What does your father want now you spoilt little brat.” Chaos asked her.

“I’m not a brat.”

“Yeah you are and when your daddy finds out he’s going to lock you up in the darkest crystallized dungeon there is.”

“No he won’t.” Athena snapped her eyes filling with fear.

Man he loved toying with her, even though she was a brat he had a great amount of respect for her father. A huge amount if it hadn’t been for Valinor he would have been dead. Even though he was many years older than them, being their keeper gave him something to hold on to.

Avalon castle

King Valinor sat surrounded by his council, tax papers, damage costs and all other sorts of papers caused by the enemies, the Ceruleans, covered the table. He looked up as the door opened and Chaos walked in with a screaming Athena flung over his shoulder. He laughed at the site before his eyes and got up to greet his long time friend.

“I would put her down if i was you or you will find you will have another hole in your wing.” Valinor told the keeper.

Chaos turned to look at the girl and found her about to bite his wing, he let her go and she dropped to the ground with a thud. She glared up at him and turned to look at her father.

“Athena dearest why don’t you go find Theo.”

Athena looked up at her father and smiled before she left the room, after the door shut Valinor checked she wasn’t eves dropping before turning to Chaos. Chaos watched the aging king carefully, his senses picking up his worry.

“As you have probably noticed, the Ceruleans have not made any sudden movements in the past year. This leads me to believe that they are planning something dangerous. We just about managed to survive their last attack.” Valinor explained.

“I would love to see them try something like that again.” Chaos replied.

“I’m still puzzled as to how they got past our security. You update it as often as you can do you not.”

“Naturally. You know what don’t get how that demon child can be your daughter.”

“That demon child Chaos is your new watch.”

“WHAT.”

“Come along Chaos. She connects with you; she still mourns the loss of her mother.”

“You know you’re going to regret this right.”

“It is a choice i found easy to decide.” Valinor laughed.

Chaos was about t reply when his senses suddenly picked up something; he turned and dashed out the door. But before Valinor could shout what was wrong the north tower exploded, the guards rushed in dragging the shocked king out the door.

Down in the garden.

A 15 year old Athena sat on the wall beside the royal garden her mind floating back to the memories her and her mother shared. So much pain and hurt followed leaving her to forget what was going on around her.

“Athena. Athena.” A voice called.

Athena opened her eyes and looked down at the boy in front of her. His dark brown hair sweeping into his brown eyes, eyes that were filled with fear. Theo pulled Athena down from the wall.

“The Ceruleans. They are here, they blew up the north tower, and you have to do something. You have to get to safety.” Theo told her.

“Go get everybody down to the caverns.”

Athena watched as Theo tore down the gardens, she turned to head in the other direction just as a shooting pain shot up her back. Something was trying to force its way out, something that was coming to early. A voice inside her head told her everything was okay, a voice she knew so well. Athena bit back a scream as blood stained white wings appeared behind her. She opened her eyes and looked behind her, out of the corner of her eye she saw a purple blue shoot up into the sky.

Time to try these out.

Athena stretched her blood stained wings and shot up into the sky, time to repay him for all the things he’s done.

Avalon gate.

Hundreds of ceruleans tore through the fallen gates, Chaos tore down into them. Taking down as many as possible. He couldn’t let them get past the 2nd gate, he turned to fly back up just as a fire ball soared past him frying a group of war hungry Ceruleans. Chaos turned and saw an ascended Athena land on the remains of the northern tower. He shot up and landed beside her, he looked at her wings and into her shinning eyes.

“Your ascension came early then.” Chaos asked.

“Naturally. Come on time to rid this lot of terror once and for all.”

Both the Keeper and the guardian shot down towards the oncoming Ceruleans.

5 Years later.

A grief stricken Chaos watched as Valinor tore his daughter away from him; their secret relationship was now a royal scandal. Shortly after Athena’s 18th birthday he had realised that he was completely stricken by her. She was no longer the brat he had thought she was, but yet a brave, matured protector.

A relationship between a guardian and her keeper was forbidden, but it was something they couldn’t help with. It had just happened, just like everything else in his life.

Athena screamed as her father plunged a knife in between Chaos’s wings, she struggled to get out of the guards strong grip. She had to help him, in some way she had to help him. Chaos looked up at her and smiled, he lifted his head to look up at Valinor.

“Looks like she cares about me more than she does you.” Chaos grinned.

“You have brought thins upon yourself, how dare you infatuate with my daughter.” Valinor snarled.

“Can’t stop the inevitable.”

“Yes i can.”

Athena screamed as Valinor pushed the disabled keeper of the cliff edge and down into the desert remains of the once glorious forest. Athena tore through the guards grip and rushed to the edge, searching through the clouds of dust for her keeper. Athena didn’t even wipe away the tears of pain that flowed.

I love you.

Thousands of years later.

In the small village of Kalm, Vincent Valentine shot awake from the nightmare he had experienced. His sweat soaked chest heaved ad he tried to control his breathing.

What were these dreams, they weren’t his.

Bloody demons given me his memories.

“As i see you’re awake.” Chaos asked his host.

“Did i or did i not get rid of you.” Vincent snapped.

Not entirely. I was slumbering again in your mind. Something you should have got used to by now.” Chaos told him.

Stupid demon.
