Hey Guys!

I’m aware that BiLB doesn’t really get to many viewers in the fanfic world, but here’s my shot. First of all, I’ll go through and tell the movie from Joe and Tony’s point of view, all in little drabble-style recounts like the one below. Then I’ll probably move on to my own original plotline, at which point the chapters will become longer (hopefully about 1000 words each) and more narrative in style. Let me know if you want to see me continue! If I don’t think there’s anyone reading this, I don’t really see the point in writing it. But as long as I have one steadily reviewing reader, I’ll write on!

She Shines

Two men find themselves unlikely allies, with a single common cause: Tony and Joe would both give their lives for Jess Bhamra.

Chapter One - Friends

Jess had been Tony’s best friend for… he couldn’t remember how long. He seemed to vaguely remember playing with her rough-and-tumble in the backyard of her home when they had been three or four, and then sticking together in their shyness at the Indian preschool. During primary school and then high school they had found other friends, but had still managed to find time to spend together.

And there she was, a completely unexpected moment of joy in the middle of his day. But, oh God… his mother was with him. He knew she’d embarrass the hell out of him. Better make this quick.

When his mother did open her mouth, he was beyond embarrassed. She was very clearly hinting right there that she wanted Jess as a daughter in law.

Why don’t you go out with Jess? a little voice in his head asked. She’s pretty much your whole world, after all… you’re crazy about her.

But as they quickly discussed biology and he asked if she would be at the park, he knew he couldn’t ever ask his friend out, even if it meant breaking his mother’s heart. He was mad about her, yes… so much that he couldn’t lie to her. He couldn’t ever marry her in a love match if he wasn’t truly in love… not in that way.
