I was bored and this is my first Naruto fic. Don't kill me!
XXXX
“Don’t play with him anymore, do you hear me?”
“Yes Papa…”
Naruto, a young orphan boy, sat on top of the playground slide and wondered what was wrong with him. Why couldn’t his friends play with him anymore? Just a few hours ago they were playing ninjas, then their parents came and took them away. Tears came to his eyes.
“There’s nothing wrong with me… there’s nothing wrong with me… or is there?” Naruto whispered to himself. Everyone always shunned him, and now his friends couldn’t even play with him. How was he different? He had some weird birthmarks, but that was it. He was just like the other kids. “What’s wrong with me?!”
“I don’t know.”
The voice was female, and he looked up. A small, frail-looking girl. She had white eyes, almost making her look like she was blind. Her hair was short and black, and she was about an inch shorter than him.
“Who are you?” Naruto asked, sliding down.
“Hyuga H-Hinata.” the girl replied sheepishly. She began twiddling her thumbs. “I… I don’t see a-anything wrong with y-you. Want to p-play?”
Naruto grinned at her. “I’m Uzumaki Naruto! Sure!” He picked up the soccer ball that was under the slide. “Do you know how to play?”
Hinata shook her head. “I’ve never played before.”
“Ok…” Naruto said. “I’ll show you! It’s easy. You see those two sticks that are on each side of the playground?”
“Uh-huh.”
“That’s the goals. All you have to do is kick the ball through the goal. But it has to be the other person’s goal. Then you get a point. The person who reaches five points first, wins.”
Hinata smiled and nodded. “I get it.”
Naruto grinned. “Ok, that one down there is yours, and this one is mine.” Naruto said, pointing to the separate goals. He kicked the ball and started to run towards her goal.
Hinata laughed. “Hey! You didn’t tell me we were going!” Hinata chased after him, but he had already scored.
“One point for me!” Naruto cheered. He looked Hinata who was still smiling. He kicked the ball to her.
“What? Naruto… shouldn't you be trying to score again?” Hinata asked, looking at the ball down at her feet.
Naruto shrugged. “Yeah… but I started too early. So you get a point by default.”
Hinata smiled and started kicking the ball towards Naruto’s goal. But when she tricked to kick it through, she missed and fell over backwards. She blushed and rubbed her lower back. “I’m sorry Naru-”
Naruto was kneeling down beside her, a worried look on his face. “Are you alright Hinata?”
Hinata blushed. “I’m fine. It was my fault… I can’t do anything right…” She looked away.
“Sure you can! I’ll show you how to kick it in!” Naruto said, grinning again. He offered her his hand and helped her up. Then he showed her, slowly, how to kick the ball through. After he retrieved it he handed it to her. “Now you try.”
Hinata set the ball down and did what Naruto had done, this time she got it through. “I got it in…? I got it in!” Hinata said with a smile. After that they continued playing. It was a close game, but in the end Hinata won. Afterwards Hinata sank down in one of the swings, panting. “That takes a lot of energy…”
Naruto sat in the swing beside her. “Yeah. But you were great!” He grinned at her. Then he turned his head to watch the setting the sun. Now the sky was pink and orange, giving the clouds pink out lines. “What do you want to do when you grow up, Hinata?”
The question surprised Hinata. She never really thought about it. But after a moment of thought, she got it. “I want to be a really strong ninja. So I can make my father proud of me.”
Naruto grinned at her again. “He probably already is… not everyone has a pretty daughter who is killer at soccer!”
Hinata blushed. You think I’m pretty, Naruto? “What do you w-want to be?”
Naruto’s grin vanished and he looked down at the ground. “You’ll laugh, just like everyone else does…”
Hinata stared at him and shook her head. “I’d never laugh at you, Naruto-kun! I’m sure whatever you want to be when you’re a grown-up, you’ll be it!”
Naruto looked at her, then smiled a bit. “Well… I want to be… Hokage!”
“Eh?”
“Yeah!” Naruto jumped up and stood in his swing. “Then everyone will stop laughing at me and shunning me and look up to me!” He looked down at Hinata and frowned. “You… you don’t think I can do it, do you?”
Hinata shook her head. “No… well I do… just please sit. You’ll break your neck.”
Naruto shrugged and seated himself again, then looked at Hinata. “So… you think I’ll be Hokage one day?”
Hinata smiled and nodded. “You can do anything you want to. You just need a dream and the courage to carry it out.”
Naruto smiled, stood, and kissed her cheek.
Hinata turned bright red and if she hadn’t clung to the chains holding up the swing, she would have fallen over from the shock. “N-Naruto-kun…”
Naruto held out his pinky finger. “Marry me someday… ok?”
Hinata stared at his finger, then clasped it with her own and smiled. “Ok.”

It was late at night and Takeo was awakened by a nightmare. He slipped out of his bedroom and into the dark hall. He felt his way down the hall, following the sound of his father’s snoring. His hand finally ran across the doorknob and he opened the door. “Mama… Papa… I had a bad dream.”
The lamp clicked on and his mother sat up. His father’s snoring stopped.
“Come on, Takeo.” his father said sleepily. He sat up and motioned for his son to climb on the bed. Takeo hurried over and required his father’s help, but he got up.
Takeo took after his father mostly. He had spiky blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and even the whisker birthmarks. Though mainly he acted like his mother. Timid, but kind. His father, Uzumaki Naruto, was the Sixth Hokage. Which made him ashamed. The son of the Hokage was scared of a little nightmare? And since his mother was part of the main branch of the Hyuga Clan… man did he feel like a coward.
“It’s alright sweetie.” Mama said, hugging him close.
“Yeah, it couldn’t have been that bad.” Papa said, smiling at him. “Besides, it was just a dream.”
Takeo nodded. “Still… will you tell me a story? To help me get back to sleep?”
Papa grinned and nodded. “Sure thing… did I ever tell you the story of the beautiful princess and the orphan?”
Takeo shook his head.
“Ok. Once upon a time there was an orphan boy. No one would play with him, then the beautiful princess came along. She played with him and then told him that he could achieve whatever he like if he had the dream and the courage to make it happen. Then the orphan boy and the beautiful princess promised to marry each other.” Papa said.
“Did they?” Takeo asked, his eyes sagging.
Mama nodded. “And they achieved their dreams as well. And then do you know what happened?”
“What?” Takeo asked. His eyes were closed and he sounded extremely sleepy.
“They had a handsome baby boy and named him Takeo.” Papa said, smiling. “They named him Takeo because the princess wouldn’t let the orphan name him Naruto Jr…”
Takeo was asleep, his breathing deep and even.
Hinata smiled at Naruto. “I’m not a beautiful princess you know.”
Naruto grinned. “I know. You’re a beautiful queen, now. Or at least the beautiful wife of the Sixth Hokage.” With that, he kissed her.
