Chapter Twenty-Five

Katelyn was very relived. Hogwarts was finally over. She had no idea how the

future was going to turn out, or how she had changed it. Not for the worse but

surely not for the better either. As she smiled at Severus, she looked over.

The crowd was cheering. For them. Well, not exactly for them but for the

entire seventh year. Peter Pettigrew was not present. Katelyn knew this,

having found him and some other seventh year making out in a corner. She

hadn't said anything but the sight totally repulsed her. Peter was a traitor

and everything. But, since Lily and James were not friends that much it didn't

matter. Silently she told him be a traitor to somebody else. And, she knew

that he would be. His kind always did.

Severus smiled at Katelyn a bit nervously. He finally got The Question out.

"Will you marry me?”

Katelyn smiled and replied with a resounding “yes.” Then, she looked at

his shocked expression and was shocked herself. She quickly approached a

mirror and almost screamed. Hermione Granger looked out at her. The Hermione

Granger looked at her with a interesting expression. And, then Katelyn woke

up. It was just a dream she told herself. And, she was partly right. Spell

residue had done something utterly unexpected. It had sent her back to where

she belonged. Katelyn persona intact she started crying.

What was left for her here? Severus didn't exist. Or, not the one she knew.

But, she was very mistaken. A very familiar voice called out from the

adjoining room. Katelyn, what happened? It was Severus. She cried of relief.

She had thought she had lost him. She looked at him. “I believe we are in my

normal time frame.”

“And mine.” he replied.

Katelyn looked at him. “What do you mean?”

He looked at her. “I was born 1978 Jan 9th. I was transported back in time

and grew up then when I was much younger. I have no idea of my actual

birthright but I am almost positive I'm muggleborn. My mother or rather

stepmother wanted a child so much she got me, from the future. So, I am

actually just a year or two older then you, which is why I am here with you. I

assume we are in the future of where we were?” And her affirming nod he

turned pale. “So, why do you think this happened?” He asked looking

puzzled and well, scared.

Katelyn replied with, "I have no idea.” Then, she raced into action. She

quickly apperated into where Harry Potter lived in her time. She made herself

invisible and peered into the window. Sure enough, Privet Drive had one

3-year-old Harry Potter. That would mean it was 1983. She said so to Severus

who looked at her puzzled yet again.

"That would mean that Lily and James died like they were supposed to. But,

how? And why are we here?”

She more quickly then Severus thought possible turned around. Of course, she

breathed. A paradox. At his confused expression she sighed and then asked.

“Have you ever read Sci Fi? At his startled look she said. A time paradox is

when something mixes with time. And, you and me being back there disrupted the

time space contract pretty much. So, that is why we are both back in this

time. Peter couldn't have ratted out the Potter's so who?” The answer was

painfully there but Katelyn pushed it back trying to deny it. Frank and Alice

must've not been able to do anything but tell the truth and that was what had

happened. And,

Peter must've been the one that heard the words her ex-teacher had uttered.

There was only one thing to do. Pulling a startled Severus along with her

she preformed an age spell on him and her. She now looked closer to

twenty-five instead of twenty. The same was with Severus. Then, she went to

Hogwarts. She applied for the position of Potions with, Severus of course as

her partner. They were practically married and so she had passed them off as

Mr. and Mrs. Newton. It was strange but it worked. She knew they wouldn't know

them so no disguise was needed.

14 years later

Katelyn had just seen Hermione disappear. Hermione's friends Ron and Harry

were at the great hall looking around for Hermione. She wasn't there. “Where

is she?” Ron asked Harry.

Harry didn't know and shrugged looking around worriedly. Then, they saw one

of their potions teachers come up to them her black hair with gray swinging

softly around her shoulders. I believe you are looking for me? She asked and

then removed the disguise. Ron fainted right off his seat.

There was Hermione in front of them, though years older. She was about 30 if

not older. “Hermione?” Asked Harry looked startled. She smiled and nodded.

“Yes, it's me Harry. I went back in time for the rest of my seventh year

and several other years included. I have been teaching at Hogwarts since you

were three Harry. And, that is my husband up there, Severus Snape. Remember

him?”

Harry nodded looking shocked. “He was the nightmare I had.” As

Hermione's puzzled expression he said “I knew him from my nightmares. What

happened to him?”

She replied with a grin. “Me.”

Then, Hermione or Katelyn launched into a detailed description of her

travels. Then, she waved at them, changed back into Katelyn Newton and went

off. Ron looked at Harry, “Whoa,” he breathed. We've met Hermione

twice!” At Harry's surprised expression he explained. “She's been a friend

and a teacher. Maybe we can convince her to travel and destroy Voldemort. She

has a lot of experience.”

And, so they asked her. And she replied with a nod and then said. “I have

something a lot more complicated in mind. Are you up to time traveling?” At

their shocked expressions she laughed. "Let me know" and walked away.

Ron turned to Harry. “Mate, she's changed.” And, Harry couldn’t agree

more.
