Chapter: 1

Into the movie

“Hey Cass, Hurry up with the popcorn.” John called from Cassidy’s family room.

“Give me a break.” Cassidy called back from the kitchen.

“Can we get some sodas to?” Brandon called.

“Why don’t you two come help?”

“We don’t want to.” They answered.

“Well I might not let you come to my house with that attitude.” Cassidy replied as she put a bag of popcorn in the microwave and took out a bowl for the popcorn. She flipped her long silky brown hair behind her shoulders. She had deep brown eyes and was tall and slender. But people didn’t like her because of her obsession with Lord of the Rings. The only people who liked her were John and Brandon but they were obsessed to.

“Cass.” A voice said behind her. She jumped and whirled around to see John standing there.

“Don’t do that.” She said angrily as the microwave went off. She opened the door and took out the popcorn.

“Sorry.” John apologized.

“I need to tell you something.” He continued. “What?” She asked looking at the amount of popcorn in the bowl. The boys will probably eat it in one second flat. She thought considering how much John and Brandon ate. She grabbed another bag of popcorn.

“I can’t come over next Saturday.” John admitted.

“What!” Cassidy screamed as she whirled around to face him.

“The guys are having a party and they invited me.” John explained.

Cassidy was furious. Not at John but at his other friends.

“Why do you hang with those guys anyways?” Cassidy asked as she turned around.

“Well I like being popular.” John answered.

“They don’t even know you.” Cassidy said as she turned on the microwave. John didn’t have a response to that. John was the most popular kid at school but no one knew him except for Cassidy and Brandon. John had blond hair and blue eyes. He was tall and muscled. Cassidy wished that he would tell everyone who he really was but that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon.

“Can you help me?” She asked as she took the popcorn out of the microwave.

“Yeah I can.” John said as he walked up to help her.

Brandon was thirsty and tired of waiting. He got up off the couch and walked to the kitchen.

“If you won’t get me a soda then I’ll get one myself.” Brandon declared as he walked to the fridge.

“If you can reach it.” Cassidy taunted.

“Ha, ha.” Brandon replied as he opened the fridge. Brandon was about the size of a hobbit even though he was in the same grade as Cassidy and John. Grade eight. He had black with green eyes.

Brandon reached up to the top shelf where the sodas were but he couldn’t reach it.

“Um…help?” He asked.

“Sure.” Cassidy said as she walked toward the fridge and grabbed three cans of sodas.

“John, bring the popcorn please.” Cassidy said as she closed the fridge.

“Sure.” John said grabbing the popcorn bowl and following Cassidy and Brandon into the living room. They sat on the couch. One the screen was the menu for the Lord of the Rings the Fellowship of the Ring extended edition. Cassidy picked up the remote and instead pressing play she went to scene selection.

“Cass. No.” John said making a grab for the remote.

“No!” Cassidy screamed moving the remote away while trying to go to a certain scene.

“Cass.” Brandon said reaching for the remote and accidentally pushing the enter button. The scene ‘At the Sign of the Prancing Pony’ started. The three of them stopped and watched the scene. All they’re arms lowering.

“Man I wish we could be there.” Cassidy said. No sooner had she said that when there was a bright flash and they were no longer in Cassidy’s living room. Instead they were in Bree.

They looked around they’re surroundings.

“We’re in Bree. As in Middle Earth Bree.” Brandon said.

Cassidy smiled. “We’re in Bree.” She said it as if it were a dream come true.
