People are all the same,
We only get judged by what we do,
Then personality reflects name,
And if I’m ugly then so are you!
So are you.
(Sugababes- ugly)
Toph and Katara were walking back from the boutique when some girls they didn’t know came across the bridge.
“Wow, great make-up!”
“Thanks.”
“For a clown!”
“No I think she looks cute! Like that time we put clothes on your poodle-monkey!”
“Don’t listen to them Toph.”
“No Katara, that was funny! Like your poodle-monkey! Ha! You know what else is funny?”
The girls were thrown into the river.
“Now that was funny.” Said Katara.
Later that night Sokka and Toph were left in the dining room while Aang and Katara practiced water bending out by the pond in the garden.
“So how did your trip with Katara go today, Toph?”
“Fine. Some girls said I looked like their poodle-monkey though.”
“Poodle-monkey? That’s ridiculous poodle-monkeys are waaayy prettier than you! Hell, they are almost as handsome as me!”
Toph grinned at his joke but only for a second.
“You’re pushing it Snoozles.” She flicked a rock in his face.
“No, Toph you shouldn’t listen to them, they are just jealous.”
“Why would they be jealous? I am just an ugly little blind girl. But it’s ok. I don’t care what people think about the way I look. I don’t want to be pretty. That’s the good thing about being blind. That and being able to tell when people are lying.”
“Well it’s a shame you don’t want to be pretty because you are.”
Toph sat surprised for a second.
“That’s funny; Katara said I was pretty too. I think you water-tribe guys have something wrong with your heads.”
“Toph. Accept it. You are very pretty and those girls are just nasty little spiteful, jealous, evil, stupid brats.”
“Wow, that’s a lot of insults. But I am told you I don’t care about appearances.”
Sokka sighed. “Ok Toph, I am going to go and lie down.”
“No, Sokka, don’t go just yet. How was your day?”
“Um, Ok I guess. I crashed a poetry class. Literally…”
“I didn’t know you were a poetry fan.”
“What can I say? I am a mysterious guy!”
“Yeah so what happened?”
“Well I kinda made a fool of myself as usual.”
“Aww, poor Snoozles.”
“Hey I was very supportive to you!”
“Yeah, I guess you were. It’s just fun to annoy you.”
“Why?”
“I dunno, you just, you kinda, I guess you just take criticism well. You don’t act too offended.”
“How do you know I am not utterly heart broken?”
“I can feel your heartbeat.”
“And what does it say?”
“It says Sokka is happy. It is quite fast. Even a touch embarrassed?”
Sokka blushed.
“I’m not embarrassed!”
“You’re lying. You heart just sped up.”
“Ok maybe I am. Do you know why?”
“You are always making a fool of yourself and you just did it again?”
“I don’t want you to think I am embarrassed. You shouldn’t be embarrassed when you are with your best friend.”
“I’m your best friend?”
“Well yeah, I mean Aang and Katara are always going of to ‘waterbend’. It just leaves you and me.”
“Thanks Sokka, that’s really nice.”
“Nice? Aww that sucks. Every girl I fancy says I am nice. That is soooo un-masculine.”
Toph stood there.
“You LIKE like me?!!!!”
Sokka sighed. “I said that out-loud didn’t I.”
“YES!!!”
“Oh. I meant it you know.”
“Sokka, I’m twelve. You’re sixteen!”
“I know. I don’t care.”
Then he kissed her.
He paused for breath.
“I can feel your heartbeat.”
“What does it say?”
“Kiss Toph again.”
