Hello! Well, this is yet another one shot that I have written, although this is my first attempt at a tragedy!! I’ve been working on this for a few weeks now, hope it’s up to standards... It takes place after the second movie and just in case you didn’t catch it in the summary. Warning: Character Death. I own nothing you recognise, expect for the poem “alone”, which is mine.
Don’t leave me Here Alone
I was shaking, literally, as I tried to stop the volley of attacks heading in my direction, as I tried to keep standing. The strain was too much, I knew it when I began to feel light headed, and I knew it when blood started to drip form my nose. I knew, as I glanced at the kids I was trying to protect, that this may be it, that I may never see anyone ever again. And my mind whirled as I tried to understand how I got myself into this situation...
“Good Morning Sue,” Reed smiled broadly as he entered the kitchen to the smell of Sue cooking breakfast, “mm, looks good,” he put an arm around his wife, blinking when he saw the sad look on her face, “Sue? Honey, what’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing really,” Sue gave him a small smile, “just living in the past.”
“And since when was that a bad thing?”
Sue and Reed turned to see Johnny standing in the doorway, a small parcel in his hand, a sunflower in the other, “good morning.”
“Good morning,” Sue answered her brother with a smile, as he walked over to her.
Johnny smiled back, he handed her the parcel and sunflower, gave her a hug, a kiss on the check and whispered, “I’ll see you at twelve.”
Sue nodded and watched him leave the building, she sighed and started to open the package before stopping at the look on Reeds face, “What?”
“Um what was that all about?” he asked curiously.
Sue gave a small smile, “come on, I’ll show you.” She led him into their sunroom, where a glass cabinet sat, lined with nine photographs of Sue, Johnny and sometimes their parents.
Reed blinked, as Sue opened the parcel fully, a silver photo frame containing a photo of the four of them at the wedding a month ago it was wrapped in purple tissue paper and attached was a note “You’ll always be my hero”.
Sue smiled at the photo before placing it on the cabinet, “I can’t believe its been ten years.”
“Ten years...” Reed looked at the photos from left to right, the photos showing a time line of Sue and Johnny growing up, the photo frames themselves becoming more elegant and detail, the first one looked hand made, “Ten years since...?”
“Since Mum’s death,” Sue whispered, running her hand over the photographs, “Ten photos for ten years.”
“Oh Sue, I’m sorry I didn’t know...” Reed told her, his eyes ran over the photos, “Johnny’s been giving you these for ten years?”
Sue nodded with a grin, “It’s become a tradition,” she said, “as has lunch.”
Reed nodded, he put hand around he waist, “You two have a real special relationship you know?”
Sue sighed, “Yeah, I know...”

Johnny walked slowly down the streets of New York City, deep n thought as he had been every year on this day for the last ten years. He couldn’t believe it had been ten years already, ten years since Sue had taken him under her wing, ten years since they had been left alone...
Johnny shook his head to rid the unpleasant thoughts form his mind, he checked his watch, 11.30, eh probably should be getting back to get ready to take Sue to lunch, and he had the perfect place in mind. He hoped she had liked this years photo, sort of a reminder that they had a knew family now, this day didn’t have to be as sad as it use to be.
Johnny sighed, he was about to start walking when a petrified scream ripped through the air, Johnny, as well as everyone else lining the street, looked up to see the top of and abounded apartment building explode in a flash of yellow.
“Someone call my sister!” Johnny yelled ay the crowd, before flaming on and flying up to the building.
There was chaos on the ground for a few moments before a young girl, no older than fifteen, rushed off in the direction of the Baxter building,
“If no one else is smart enough to listen to the human torch,” she thought to herself angrily, “then I guess I’ll have to do it myself!”

Johnny crashed through the window of the building, almost landing on the people who he had some to help. Two young girls were huddled together, twins by the look of it, their curly blonde hair fall to their shoulders, their bright green eyes frightened.
“Hey,” Johnny whispered, flaming off and kneeling down beside the girls, “I’m Johnny, I’m here to help you.”
Both girls shook their heads to terrified to speak.
“It’s okay,” Johnny told them, “I won’t let anything...!” A blast of lightning knocked Johnny off his feet, sending him crashing into the wall of the empty room, “What the hell? Doom?”
An evil laugh echoed round the room and Victor Von Doom stepped out of the shadows, “oh this is too good,” he looked around, “What, all alone Mister Storm? You just couldn’t resist, could you.”
“I am so going to crisp you Doom,” Johnny growled, “I can’t believe that even you would stoop so low as to prey on innocent children!”
“Believe me Johnny,” Victor sneered, “It’s not the kids I’m after.” Another jolt of lightning arched towards Johnny, this time Johnny was ready for it, and managed to counter it with a jet of flame.
“I have a feeling I’m going to enjoy this,” Victor laughed, moving his hand in the direction of the apartment wall, the metal railing suddenly came out of the wall and flew towards Johnny.
Johnny muttered a curse under his breath before the large metal beam crashed into him head on, sending him crashing to the wall yet again.
The two young girls squeaked in shock, their heads moving quickly from Victor, as he flexed his hands, and Johnny, who was slowly getting to his feet.
Johnny wiped away the blood that was running down his chin, “How many times are we going to have to kill you?”
Victor laughed, “We Johnny? I don’t see anyone else here...”
Johnny smirked, “Then you’re even stupider than I thought,” of course Johnny was alone, but Victor didn’t know that. Johnny, though, knew they would get here soon, they had to, he couldn’t do this alone, especially today.
“Don’t let me do this alone Sue,” Johnny thought, once again sending a jet of flame towards Victor to met his lightning, “Don’t leave me in this darkness alone.”

Sue paced around the living room, muttering to herself as he walked in circles.
“Sue, calm down, I’m sure everything fine,” Reed told her reassuringly, watching his frazzled wife, “he’s just a bit late.”
“Late? Johnny has never been late on this day, never,” Sue fretted, “and he’s thirty minutes late – that’s not a bit!”
Reed sighed, “Sue, I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about.”
Sue sighed and slumped into the couch, “it just doesn’t feel right...”
“Mrs Richards?”
Sue blinked and looked up to see the receptionist of the building, ‘Yes?”
“There’s a strange acting child that want’s to see you,” she looked at the silent Ben and frustrated Reed, “all of you I think.”
Sue gave Reed and Ben a strange look before making her way down to the lobby, a young girl was waiting for her, “Hello? May I help you?”
“Miss Invisible Women!” the girl’s voice was ragged with heavy breathing, “the human torch said to come get you.”
Sue blinked, “What? Johnny sent you, why?”
“I think he made need your help,” the girl told them, “he went to save someone.”
“Why did he have to save someone?” Sue asked the feeling of dread returning, “Tell me what happened!”
“There were screams,” the girl whispered, “and flashes of yellow.”
“Yellow, as in lightning?” Sue asked breathlessly.
The little girl nodded, “yeah, lightning...”
“Where?” Sue asked, grabbing the girl by the shoulders, “where is he?”
The little girl told Sue where it had happened, she squeaked as Sue gave her a hug before rushing out the door.
“Sue, wait up!” Reed yelled, he turned to the girl, “thank you,” he told her before rushing after Sue.
The girl blinked as she watched him leave, “your welcome,” she whispered.
“Hey Kid,” the girl jumped at Ben’s voice, she turned to see him holding out a hand, “would you like a lift?”
The girl grinned; she nodded shyly before Ben helped her onto his shoulders and rushing out the door.

Johnny slumped against the wall, breathing heavily after being hit, once again, by a steel pole.
Victor had somehow gotten stronger since they had last seen him, and it was really staring to piss Johnny off!! And on a more serious note, Victor in no way looked to be getting tired, which was rather not good...
Victor laughed as Johnny got wobbly to his feet, visibly shaking, ‘You can’t beat me Storm, you’re all alone in this now...”
Johnny gritted his teeth, his head was throbbing and blood was dripping from his nose – something that he found shocking due to the fact that it had never happened to him before – it was a sure sign that he was getting close to his breaking point, close to failing.
Johnny glanced down at the two young girls he had spent the last hour trying to protect; they looked petrified and have said not a word since he arrived.
Johnny slumped down beside them, surprising them as he grabbed their hands, ‘You have to leave okay?” He told them, “I can hold him off until you get out – can you do that for me?” They nodded, both in shock, the fear still etched in their eyes.
“Ready?” Johnny got to his feet, he took a deep breath, “go!” he yelled firing a huge jet of flame towards Victor, surprising Victor and himself about how much power and energy he had left.
Johnny watched the two girls leave out of the corner of his eye with immense relief.
“You think a little fire is going to stop me Storm?” Victor’s voice was sneering, shocking Johnny out of his thoughts, ‘You should never had challenged me, I’m way out of your league.”
Johnny didn’t see it coming, he couldn’t he was too busy concentrating on his jet of flame. Therefore he didn’t notice the large shard of metal flying towards him, not until it was too late and it had sheathed itself into his chest.
Johnny froze, his concentration wavered and he fell to his knees, breathing heavily. Closing his eyes he tried not to think about anything as he grabbed the metal and pulled, gasping as he threw it to the floor.
His head was spinning as he got to his feet, blood was pouring out of his nose – and the new wound in his chest. He knew as he glared defiantly at Victor that this could be it – and in that moment as a streak of lightning flew towards him, Johnny’s only thought were Sue. How he wished he could get the chance to see her – one last time.
x-x-x
The door to the room flew open; Sue rushed into the room but froze at the sight in front of her. Metal beams were strewn across the floor, one shard was covered in blood, the floor and walls were scorched and covered in dried blood, she could cope with that – she didn’t mind seeing the blood. It was seeing in on Johnny that made her heart stop.
He had locked eyes with her as soon as she opened the door – his sparkling blue eyes were filled with relief – Sue however, was not relieved, she stared in disbelief at the blood running from Johnny’s nose and the blood that soaked his shirt. She couldn’t even move as the lightning bolt flew towards him.
Johnny whispered something to Sue, but the words were lost in the chaos the ensued seconds later.
Sue screamed in fear as the lightning hit Johnny, causing him to crash to the floor, where he lay unmoving. Sue rushed to her brother’s side, blue force fields rippling through the room, encasing Sue and Johnny when she fell to her knees beside him.
“Johnny!” Sue cried grabbing her brother’s hand, “Johnny? Come on, wake up for me, please say something?”
Sue had no idea what was going on around her, she didn’t see Reed and Ben enter the room, she didn’t even notice as they restrained Victor.
She only had eyes fro Johnny, as his eyelids fluttered open, and his eyes looked up to her – all the sparkle in them was gone.
“Sue? Sue I’m so sorry I couldn’t stop him, I wasn’t strong enough,” Johnny stuttered his words, blood starting to form in his mouth, “I’m sorry...”
Sue didn’t bother to try to stop the tears from falling down her checks, “you don’t have to apologise,” she whispered, brushing her hand through his hair, “Don’t leave me to do this alone Johnny, I can’t...I...”
Johnny grabbed her hand and kissed it softly, before turning back to look her in the eyes, his were now completely lifeless, “I’m sorry, but I think I’m going to...”
“No, No... No Johnny please...” Sue whispered, not wanting to believe it, not wanting to notice how cold her brother was, “Don’t leave me Johnny, not now, not like this...”
Johnny gave a weak smile, “I’ll say hi to Mum for you...” he whispered, closing his eyes as the grip on Sue’s hand loosened.
“No!” Sue screamed, putting a hand on his chest, “No! Johnny! Johnny!!”
Tears flowed from her eyes, splashing onto Johnny, his unmoving chest stayed unmoving, his eyes remained closed.
Sue pulled her brother up to her chest, crying bitterly as she rocked up and down, “No... No... Johnny... please...” her words were hollow, chocked with tears.
Sue winked out into invisibility, Johnny turning invisible with her.
And the only noise in the room was the heart-breaking sobs of someone who had just lost their entire world...

You told me once, that you loved me,
You told me once, you’ll never leave me.
You whispered once, that you would always be here,
You whispered once, and I didn’t hear.
Don’t leave me here alone,
Don’t leave me to cry all these tears.
Don’t leave me to face my fears alone,
Don’t leave me crying on the floor.
I said once that I could live without you,
Now I know that I was lying.
I said once that I didn’t need you,
I guess I was wrong on that occasion.
Don’t leave me on this earth alone,
Don’t leave me in this time of need
Don’t let me finish my journey alone.
Don’t let me cry and beg on my knees.
There were the days, when we were inseparable,
Those are the days I’ll remember forever.
There were the days, when we were torn apart
Those are the days, I want to leave behind.
Don’t leave me to love alone,
Don’t leave me to my own direction.
Don’t leave me in the dark alone,
Don’t leave to me to walk this road.
The people around us, just never knew
How much love, how much faith, I had for you
The people around us, just couldn’t see,
The unconditional love you gave to me.
Don’t leave me in this nightmare alone,
Don’t leave me in a life, shattered and broken.
Don’t let me watch a sunrise alone,
Don’t let me believe that there’s nothing left to live for.
The wind was cold, and the run stung as it hit her checks, it seemed even the weather was in mourning today... It suited her mood perfectly.
The gathered mourners stood in silence, waiting for her to do something, waiting for her to say something. There was no noise in the graveyard, not even the sound of tears, they had all gone, they had all been cried, she had no tears left.
The wind had picked up by the time she had the courage to get up from her seat and walk towards the black casket that was being held over an open grave.
Sue took a deep breath before walking over to it, and running a hand over the black wood, her lips moving in a silent conversation that no one else could hear.
There was a long moment of silence before Sue stepped back form the casket, she glanced at the sky then back down at the casket as it was lowered slowly into the ground.
The rain slowly stopped and the sun came out from behind the clouds as Sue whispered,
“I’ll never forget, ever.”
The sun shined brightly, embossing the beautiful words on the dark granite headstone,
“Never Forget,
Never stop believing
Always remember that you’re never alone.”
