Two of a Kind

Young Albus Dumbledore held the parchment in his hands, a smile gracing his face. His blue eyes twinkled with the utmost joy, as if fireworks were going off from their cerulean depths. His read hair shined in the sunlight from his window, and he read the letter over again.

He had recently begun correspondence with a student at Durmstrang, one Gellert Grindelwald. The East-European student had shown remarkable intellect, on par with Albus’s own keen mind. It was so refreshing for him to speak with someone about more complex subjects than the current Transfiguration assignment.

Sighing, the teen aged prodigy wizard pulled open a drawer from his desk, putting the letter down with at least a dozen others, careful not to tear or otherwise damage the precious parchment. He closed the drawer, before locking it to prevent his younger brother from finding the letters whilst inevitably snooping around his room.

Having completed his homework already, Albus had little to do. His chores were done, and dinner would not be ready for another few hours. A flutter in his heart, he began work on another letter, a response to his friend’s most recent one. They were two of a kind…

“I can’t wait to meet you,” he said under his breath. This feeling… in my heart… I want to find you, Gellert.

AN: Yep, the news is out. DUMBLEDORE LURVED GRINDELWALD! And I’m proud to be the first person (that I know of) to write a one-shot about it with it canon.

And to answer the inevitable questions… no, I’m not really into slash. Dumbledore is actually homosexual, so don’t give me those looks.
