Author’s Note: HEY GUYS!! Okay, so I decided to take a break from my story, When Worlds Collide, and I have decided to write this! I actually got the inspiration when I was reading some Q and A that Ms. Rowling answered, and one of them was if Harry actually got to speak to Snape again, and she said that he fought to put Snape’s portrait in the Headmaster’s office, but she didn’t think that he would ever speak to him, well, I have decided to go against what she said, and this is about him talking to Snape in his portrait!!!

P.S. I know that McGonagall doesn’t become the Headmistress after all of the fiasco, but I changed it, cause I didn’t feel like introducing a WHOLE new character. Also, I didn’t have them live in Grimmauld Place, because I didn’t think that would be the best place to raise children, so they live at Godric’s Hollow

P.S.S. This is TOTALLY off of the subject, but I found it HILLARIOUS that Dumbledore was gay. I am a total Gay Marriage supporter, so that just made me love him more!!! (This author’s note is SOO long!) Anway, I present to you:

An Old Enemy

Chapter 1: The Portrait

Harrysat in his kitchen at Godric’s Hollow watching Ginny and Lily through the window play on a broom stick. Of course they knew that it wouldn’t be best to try and teach a nine year old to fly, but they didn’t care much. Ginny sat on the broom, and pulled Lily up with her, (Lily clutching to her mother for dear life) and they took off from the ground. Harry watched them rise higher, and higher, until he could barely see them. He heard a loud screech, and he stood up, and walked outside rapidly. But he laughed when he saw Ginny laughing, and Lily clung to her. They landed, and Lily refused to let go.

“NO! I won’t go!” Lily cried. “I won’t go by myself!”

“I asked her if she wanted to go by herself, and she yelped,” Ginny said as she tried to pry Lily off of her.

“Lily, we’re not going to make you fly,” Harry said. “Calm down.” Finally Harry managed to get Lily to let go of Ginny, and the three walked inside.

“Want a drink?” Ginny asked.

“Pumpkin Juice, please,” Lily said. A loud pecking was heard at the window, and Harry turned to see a grey owl at the window, with a letter in its beak. He opened the window, and the owl flew around the room once, and then landed on the counter, and dropped a letter. He took the letter, and opened it.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Potter,

I would like to discuss with the two of you your two son’s behavior at breakfast this morning. If you could come to my office soon, I would highly appreciate it. I have arranged for you to be able to floo straight into my office.

Sincerely,

Minerva McGonagall, Headmistress of Hogwarts Witchcraft and Wizardry.

“Gin, look at this,” Harry said as he handed her the letter. She groaned.

“Again? This is like, the third time!” Ginny sighed again. “Come on Lil, let’s get your coat. We’re going to go to Aunt Hermione, and Uncle Ron’s house.”

“Okay!” Lily said happily, as she hopped off of her seat, and ran to get her coat. She returned with her dark green coat on her back. “Let’s go!”

Harry and Ginny both grabbed their coats, and approached the fireplace.

“I’ll go first,” Ginny said. She grabbed a handful of floo powder, and stepped into the fireplace, and threw the powder down, and said, “82 Norshbud Way,” and Ginny spun out of site.

“’K Lil, you go next.”

Lily grabbed the powder, and did the same as Ginny, and spun out of site. Harry, then did the same as the other two girls, and landed in Ron and Hermione firplace.

“So, it’s okay that she stays here for a bit?” Ginny asked Hermione.

“Oh yea, definitely. It’s always a pleasure to have Lily here!” Hermione said as she gave Lily a big hug.

“Okay, let’s go Harry,”

“Bye,” Harry said, as he stepped into the fireplace once more. He threw down his floo powder, and said, “Hogwarts Headmistress’ office!” he spun out of site, and landed in McGonagall’s office. The office looked the same as the last time he had seen it, except that it now had a new portrait frame, that was currently empty, but in Dumbledore’s portrait, Snape and Dumbledore sat chatting away. Sitting at McGonagall’s desk was Minerva, and James and Albus, their heads bent. They turned their heads to see who entered the room, and their eyes widened when they saw Harry walk in.

“Take a seat Potter,” McGonagall said. Harry sat in a chair that she had summoned out of thin air. His eyes stayed looking at James and Albus. The fireplace lit up again, and Ginny entered the room.

“What did you two do? It had to be so bad that the Headmistress had to call us here, again?” Ginny asked.

“Please take a seat Mrs. Potter,” McGonagall said as she summoned another chair out of thin air. Ginny sat angrily on the other side of Harry, her eyes still set upon James and Albus.

“What did they do Minerva?” Harry asked.

“They got into another one of their fist fights,”

Harry looked more closely at the two. James had a bloody nose, and Albus’ eye was red and puffy.

“Why did you do that?” Ginny asked the boys. They both just murmered. “Well?”

“James made fun of me, because I couldn’t make my bread levitate, so a lightly punched him in the arm, and then he started to attack me like a wild animal!” Albus said.

“I did not you little liar! I did make fun of him, but he hit me really hard, so I punched him, then he gave me this, then I gave him that!” James said pointing to himself, and then Albus. McGonagall was about to say something, but her office door flew open, and a very flustered looking Neville appeared in her doorway.

“Minerva, we are having issue’s in the- oh, hello Harry, Ginny, what are you doing here?”

“Neville!” McGonagall said.

“Oh, right, we are having issue’s in the greenhouse,”

McGonagall sighed, and stood up, and quickly followed Neville out of her office.

“I think I’d like to talk to these two alone Harry. We’ll be right back.” Ginny said.

“NO!” Albus yelped.

“Show us some compassion! Help!” James said. Ginny stood, and grabbed the two of them by the ears, and took them out of the office, and she closed the door. Harry sat in the office alone, except for the portraits on the wall.

“Harry!” Harry turned to look at Dumbledore’s portrait. He was sitting on his chair, and was smiling down at him. Snape was standing close by, just staring at him, as if he were bored. “How are you? I see your son’s got into some trouble again?”

“Yes, they did. And I’m fine.”

“I’m glad, very glad,” Dumbledore muttered. “I believe I should talk to the Fat Lady, about a previous night’s happenings. I hope to see you again Harry,” Dumbledore said. He left the portrait. Now, it was only Harry, and Snape. Snape started at Harry, and Harry at Snape.

“You spawned,” Snape finally said.

“Yes, if you didn’t notice.”

“And you married the Weasley girl?”

“Yes,”

“I heard Minerva talking to your second eldest, and she called him Albus Severus. Why would you name him after me?”

Harry groaned on the inside. He was hoping he wouldn’t have to answer this. “Because you were brave, a trait that I would like my son to have.” Snape nodded.

“So, you loved my mother so much, that you were willing to risk your life to save me? Even though you hated me?”

“Yes,”

“Well, thank you.”

Snape laughed. “I didn’t do it for you. I did it for her.”

“Well, thank you all the same,” Harry said.

There was silence once again, until Snape broke it. “Thank you for having my portrait on the wall. I know you went through a great deal to have it put up.”

“It’s not problem…. Sorry for being such a git to you,”

“I’m sorry for treating you unfairly due to the hatred that I had for your father,”

The office door opened again, and Ginny walked in with the two boys.

“I see that no blood was shed,” Harry said as the boys took their seats again.

“Yea, no thanks to you!” James said. The office door opened again, and McGongall walked in, and sat in her desk.

“Sorry about that, now where were we?”

So, that was it. I know it’s kinda silly, but whatev. I hope you like it enough to post just one little review, and I’ll love you FOREVER!
