Author's Note: I apologize for my absence; I've just moved from my old, creepy house into my newly-built, non-scary house. :3
... ANYWAYS, this is just a little drabble I wrote a couple of days ago, before my internet got turned on in my new house. It's kind of sketchy, I know, but I like it. Besides, Riza and Ed interaction is cute. -gigglesnort-
Disclaimer: Noooooo. I'd murder FMA's brilliant plot if I owned it. :p
Enjoy!

Edward Elric was not a patient person. He demonstrated this in childish fits, angry outbursts, and violence. It was easy to tell that, when he wanted something, he got it in that exact moment, or someone would be going to their grave a bit early.
And Roy Mustang was going to his next victim.
“Where the hell is he?” Ed growled from his spot on the small couch. The young alchemist was sitting in the colonel’s office, stretched out on the only couch--as, not but two weeks ago, a ‘disagreement’ left its companion couch in the garbage heap--and irritated. He had been there for three hours!
Ed glanced at the clock again. Okay, thirty minutes. But, it was still a long time!
“The colonel will be here in a minute, Edward. Just be patient,” Lieutenant Hawkeye chided from her desk on the other side of the small office.
“You said that when I first got in here!” Ed remarked with an exasperated tone.
Riza sighed and looked up from her work. “How are you today, Edward?”
“Oh, I’m- Wait! You’re just trying to distract me while Mustang escapes!” Ed pointed an accusing finger at her.
“While this is a distraction, Edward, it’s not so the colonel can escape. It’s called simple conversation.”
Ed narrowed his eyes. “I don’t like conversation. All it’s good for is spreading rumors and talking behind peoples’ backs.”
Riza sighed and stood up, walking toward the couch. She sat down beside Ed and crossed her legs and folded her hands in her lap.
“While conversation does include those sometimes, it’s also a good thing. Just as alchemy is based on Equivalent Exchange, the world is based on conversation, debate, and arguments. It uses those things to create what people desire, and destroy what they fear and hate.”
Ed’s eye widened and he fidgeted a bit. “I guess so…”
Riza smiled. “Besides, if you don’t want to think of it that way, you can think of it as a way to relax, receive and give news, or as a bit of entertainment.”
“Entertainment…” Ed grinned. “So, Lieutenant. Why is the colonel so late?”
Riza shrugged. “He’s the Fuhrer’s errand boy today. Laundry and whatnot.” She instantly clamped a hand to her mouth.
“Errand boy, eh?” Ed smirked. “You’re right, Lieutenant, conversationis good.”
