Episode 22

Shot in the Dark

Starring Lumpy

and Flaky

It was a dark night. The stars filled the sky and the moon stood shining in the sky. Street lights were on, and lights inside of houses were turned on. The sound of chirping crickets filled the air. “La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la,” Giggles sang as she walked into her house with a paper bag of groceries in her hand. Giggles set her grocery bag on the floor and flipped on the light switch. The light didn’t turn on. “Huh?” Giggles asked. She flipped the light switch off and turned it back on again. The room was still dark. Giggles grabbed a flash light and turned it on.

Giggles walked to a tall lamp that was standing next to her couch. She took the lamp shade off and clicked the lamp on. “Light bulb must be broken,” Giggles said as she unscrewed the energy saving light bulb in the lamp. She shook the energy saving light bulb and heard it jingle. “Yep, it’s out,” Giggles said to herself as she threw the light bulb in the trash can.

She then walked to a drawer and opened it up. She grabbed a box of energy saving light bulbs and took one out. Then she screwed it back in the lamp. “There we go,” Giggles said as she turned the flash light off and set it on the couch. She then clicked on the lamp. The lamp still didn’t turn on. “Oh, I guess that it’s a power outage,” Giggles said as she grabbed her flashlight. She then pulled out a cell phone.

Meanwhile…

Lumpy the electrician was driving a yellow pickup truck. There was a white circle with a picture of lighting on each door and on the hood. There was a large tool box in the bed of the pick up truck. Lumpy was wearing a yellow cap with the circle and lightning symbol on it. Suddenly he got a message on his radio. Lumpy picked up his radio and said, “Hello?” He heard a bunch of gibberish coming from the phone. Then he answered, “Don’t worry, I’m on my way to see what the problem is.”

Giggles was sitting on the couch in her dark house waiting for Lumpy to arrive. Finally she heard the doorbell ring. “Phew, it’s about time!” Giggles said as she ran to the door. She opened the door and Lumpy was standing in front of the door holding a tool box.

“Okay, what seems to be the problem?” Lumpy asked.

“My house’s power went out!” Giggles said. “Okay then, do you have a generator in your basement?” Lumpy asked. “Yes, can you fix it?” Giggles asked. “Of course I can, that’s what I’m here for,” Lumpy said. “Okay, my basement is over there,” Giggles said as she pointed to a door.

Meanwhile…

Flaky walked into her kitchen quietly laughing to herself insecurely. She flipped the light switch on and her kitchen light up. The lights blinked a few times, but then the lights returned to normal. “Okay, let’s see here,” Flaky said as she opened her cupboard. “Aha, ha-ha-ha!” Flaky timidly said as she grabbed a can of soup. She then grabbed a small pot and put it on the stove.

Flaky then turned on the stove and the flame under the pot lit up. “AGH!!” Flaky screamed as she jumped on the ground. “Huh?” Flaky asked as she looked up and sighed in relief. “Ah-ha-ha, I guess I got a little scared there,” Flaky said uncertainly as she got up. She then put the can of soup on an electric can opener and she plugged in the can opener.

Once the can was opened, she poured the soup into the pan. Flaky then laughed to herself insecurely again.

Meanwhile…

Lumpy was inside of Giggles’ basement. Lumpy had a lantern on that was up on the wall. Lumpy inspected the electric box on one of the walls. “Hmm,” Lumpy thought as he grabbed a blue wire and a red wire. He then touched the wires together and suddenly he got zapped with electricity. He immediately let go of the wires. “YOW! What the hell was that?” Lumpy asked as he shook his head. Lumpy then found and on and off switch, and realized that the electric box was set to “off”.

“Aha, that’s the problem!” Lumpy said as he grabbed onto the switch, only to get zapped again. “RRRR, stupid thing!” Lumpy said as he let go of the switch. Lumpy then touched the switch again, and once again he got electrocuted. Lumpy let go of the switch and said, “What’s up with this stupid thing?”

Lumpy touched the switch again and got zapped. He let go, growled angrily, and then he grabbed the switch again, only to get zapped again. “That’s it! I’ll get the chipmunk to do it,” Lumpy said as he walked upstairs and out of the attic. “Hey you, come down here,” Lumpy said.

“Okay,” Giggles replied as she walked into the basement. “Now, turn this switch on,” Lumpy said. “Alright, sure,” Giggles said. “Ha, now let’s see how she’ll like it,” Lumpy said. But instead Giggles turned the switch to “on” without getting zapped. Giggle’s entire house light up. “Yay, the lights work again!” Giggles cheered. “Hey, that’s not possible! You were supposed to get zapped!” Lumpy screamed angrily. “God damn it, what’s wrong with this dumb thing?” Lumpy asked. “Oh well, at least it won’t zap me anymore,” Lumpy said as he grabbed the switch. “AAAAGGHH!!!” Lumpy screamed as he got electrocuted again.

Meanwhile…

Flaky poured her pot full of soup into a bowl. “La-la-la-la-la-la-la,” Flaky quietly sang to herself. She then grabbed a spoon and stirred her soup. She then took a sip and spit it out. She then ran to the sink and grabbed a glass of water. She poured the water in the sink and chugged it all down. “Phew, that soup is hot! Oh well, I’ll just watch TV while I let that cool down,” Flaky said as she walked into the living room.

She sat down at the couch and turned on the TV. The first thing on the TV that came up was an airplane flying in the sky. But then the airplane exploded. “AAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!” Flaky screamed as she immediately changed the channel. The next thing on the TV was a cute little puppy. “Awww, how cute,” Flaky said. But suddenly the puppy turned into a giant, scary-looking monstrous wolf with blood dripping down its mouth.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!” Flaky screamed as she changed the channel. Then there was a little baby cow on the TV screen. “Phew, now this is something I would want to watch,” Flaky said. But just as she calmed down, the screen moved over to a barn full of baby chickens.

The cute little chicks were jumping around, chirping and playing. “AGH-AAHH-“!!!!!!” Flaky screamed in extreme fear and dread. Then Flaky fainted.

Meanwhile…

Lumpy got back into his truck and he heard his radio again. “Hello?” Lumpy answered. He heard more gibberish and then he said, “Okay, I’ll be right over.” Lumpy then drove off.

Cuddles was standing in front of his house holding a cell phone. Lumpy drove up to Cuddles’ house and got out of his truck. “The only way I could call you was with my cell phone, there’s something wrong with my phone line,” Cuddles said as he put his cell phone in his pocket and ran into his house. Lumpy followed Cuddles. “See look, my phone is plugged in, but listen,” Cuddles said as he ran to his house phone and gave it to Lumpy.

Lumpy turned the phone on, but the phone was silent. “Hmm, I guess your right, your phone line is busted,” Lumpy said. “Okay, what I want you to do is hold on to the phone and keep it on. I’ll go out and try to fix the electricity and once you hear the phone, come out and tell me,” Lumpy said.

“Okay,” Cuddles said. Lumpy then ran outside and found a telephone pole. “Mmm-hmm,” Lumpy said as he climbed up the telephone pole until he found an electric box attached to it.

Flaky walked back into her kitchen and grabbed a spoon. She took another sip of the soup and said, “Mmm-hmm!” She then put the soup on the table and sat down and started eating her soup. The lights started flickering again. “What the?” Flaky asked. But then the lights went back to normal again.

Lumpy connected two wires in the electric box. Cuddles grabbed the phone and put it to his ear, only to get zapped with electricity. “WAAAGHH-HAAAA!!!!” Cuddles screamed in pain as he flew into the wall. “Oh, what was that?” Cuddles asked. Then a framed picture fell off the wall and hit Cuddles on the head.

“Hmm, maybe if I connect this wire and pull this switch and press this button,” Lumpy said. He then pulled a switch and pressed a button. Suddenly Cuddles got shot with such extreme voltage that he blasted out of his house. “WAAAAGGGH!!!!” Cuddles screamed.

“AGH!” Lumpy screamed as he jumped off of the telephone pole and smashed into the ground. Cuddles then landed on a telephone wire. “Oh phew, this telephone wire saved me,” Cuddles said until Cuddles weight pushed the wire down to the ground. “Uh-oh,” Cuddles said as the two telephone poles connected to the wire tipped over and smashed into Cuddles. Cuddles’ blood and guts spattered all over the street.

“Oh, uh, my head,” Lumpy said as he slowly got up off the ground. He coughed and weakly looked back and forth, only to find out that Cuddles was smashed between two telephone poles. “Uh-oh,” Lumpy said as he slowly walked away and whistled to himself.

Meanwhile…

Flaky was almost done with her soup, but suddenly all of the lights went out. Flaky spit out her soup and screamed. “AAAAGGGHHHH!!! AAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!! AAAAGH!! AAAAAAAAAGGGHHH!!!!” Flaky screamed. She started crying as she ran to her house phone. She picked it up, only to find out that there was no signal. Flaky whimpered and screamed as she ran outside.

“Wait, I’m outside. At night! AAAAAGGGHHH!!!!!” Flaky screamed as she ran around in circles. “I need to get back inside!” Flaky screamed as she ran back into her house. “Wait, it’s dark in here, too!! AAAAAGGHHHHH!!!” Flaky screamed. “Wait, flashlights, that’s what I need,” Flaky said to herself as she ran to a drawer and grabbed a flashlight.

She turned the flashlight on, but the batteries were dead. Flaky started panicking as she searched through the drawer for more batteries. “NOO!!! I’m out of batteries!” Flaky screamed as she ran into the kitchen. She then found a bunch of candles. “Aha!” Flaky said as she reached into another drawer and found a book of matches.

“Ah-ha-ha-ha,” Flaky insecurely laughed to herself as she tried to light a match. The match lit up, and Flaky got scared of the lit match. “AAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!” Flaky screamed as she threw the match. The match landed on the stove, and the stove burst into flames. “AAAAAGGGHHH!!!” Flaky screamed as she grabbed a fire extinguisher. She then sprayed the stove and put out the fire.

“Phew!” Flaky sighed in relief. Flaky started whimpering as she walked outside. “Okay, I have to be brave here, the street lights are on, it won’t bee to dark out there,” Flaky said as she walked outside. She then found a payphone, and she ran towards it, but suddenly all of the street lights turned off.

“!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAGH!!! AAAHH!!! !!!!!!!” Flaky screamed as she ran to the payphone.

Meanwhile…

Lumpy got another message from his radio. He picked up the radio and said, “How may I help you?”

“AAAAGGGHHH!!!” Flaky screamed from the payphone. “Help me! My lights went out, my flashlight is out of batteries, I don’t have any batteries and I set my stove on fire and then I had to run outside and I’m scared of the dark and I need you to fix my lights because I’m really scared!!!!” Flaky screamed rapidly. She then took a bunch of deep breaths.

“Okay, I have no Idea what you said, but I’ll be right over,” Lumpy said.

Flaky then saw Lumpy drive up to Flaky’s house. “Okay, now what’s the problem?” Lumpy asked. “I already told you! My electricity went out and when I tried my flashlight it was out of batteries, and then I almost set my entire house on fire and I’m scared of the dark and this whole night I’ve been scared to death and you need to help me!” Flaky screamed extremely fast.

“I still couldn’t catch that,” Lumpy said. Flaky sighed angrily and said, “You need to fix my electricity.” “Oh, well why didn’t you say so?” Lumpy asked. “Now do you have an electric box or generator anywhere?” Lumpy asked.

“Yes, it’s right next to you,” Flaky said as she pointed to a green electric box sticking out of the ground that was next to Lumpy. “Oh, well let me try something here,” Lumpy said as he opened the box. Lumpy then grabbed his toolbox and pulled out a wrench. “Hmm, aha!” Lumpy said as he turned a few things with the wrench, and then connected a few wires and flipped a few switches.

“Did it work?” Flaky asked. “Well, let’s see. Go into your house and try turning on a light,” Lumpy said as he tied a bunch of wires together. “Okay then,” Flaky said as she ran into her house. She then flipped a switch, and all the lights in the house turned on. “Aha!” Flaky said.

But suddenly the electric box exploded and Lumpy blasted into the air. “AAAAHH!!!” Lumpy screamed as he plummeted down towards Flaky’s house. Flaky turned on an electric fan and sighed in relief. But suddenly Lumpy smashed through the roof and smashed into Flaky’s electric fan. “WAAAAGGHH!!!” Lumpy screamed as he got sucked into the fan and started getting shredded up. Blood and guts splashed all over the walls and all over Flaky. “HELP ME! BLAAGHH!!! WAAAA-HAAA-HAA!!!” Lumpy screamed as he slowly got shredded up by the electric fan.

Flaky whimpered as she ran to the electric fan and tried to turn it off. There were four buttons on the fan, so Flaky pressed the third one, thinking it would turn off, but instead the fan just went even faster. “AAGH!!” Flaky screamed as she pressed the fourth button, which only caused the fan to spin at super speed. “AAAAAAHHH-BLLAAAHH!!” Lumpy screamed as he choked and gurgled his blood as he got blasted into the fan even faster.

“AAAGGHH!!” Flaky screamed as she pressed the first button, which finally turned it off. The only thing left of Lumpy was his head, which shot out of the fan and smashed into Flaky. Flaky flew backwards and into the bathroom. The door slammed shut and Flaky fell on the toilet. Lumpy’s severed head landed on her lap. “AH-AAH-AAAAAAAGGGHHH!!!!” Flaky screamed as she grabbed Lumpy’s head and threw it in the air.

She then jumped up and ran to the door and pulled and pulled until she realized that the door wouldn’t budge. She tried to unlock the door, but the door knob just fell off. “AAAAGGHHH!!!!” Flaky screamed as she pounded on the door. Suddenly the lights started flickering. Flaky screamed and cried until the lights went out and everything went pitch black.

“!!!!!!!!!!!” Flaky screamed in terror.
