Hey everyone! Sorry, the sarcastic voice in my head is annoying me right now—annoying? Me? Never!—and has wormed its way into my thought process. It likes to interrupt me at random times. Meanie. Anyway, here are my plans for this story: Obviously, it’s going to be CaRWash and the story will start over a year after Calleigh breaks up with Jake, and Ryan returns to the lab. Just like any relationship, it’s going to have lots of ups and downs, and I have some pretty crazy ideas for it. But unfortunately, school has gotten really busy, so I won’t be able to update every week like I did with my other story. For example, I might do four chapters up all in one day, and then nothing for a month. I know, that sucks, but what can I do? College prep time…

Oh, yes, and I don’t own the show or the characters so don’t come after me with pitchforks.

Wait, one more thing: the very beginning will make no sense. Seriously. None, what so ever. Don’t even try to figure it out. Haha, it will all be explained towards the end. And that is going to be a while. So don’t hurt your brain, because it’s not even that important. Well, truthfully, I’m sure you can figure parts of it out if you really want to. But not all of it. Now enjoy…

“Is Leah asleep?” A woman asked her husband.

“After an hour, yes,” her husband replied, exhausted. “How’s he doing?” he asked, gesturing to the man on her right.

“Well,” she began, as her husband sat down. “Not so well. This is all my fault." She began to cry softly.

Calleigh got into the elevator, dialing a number into her cell phone. Right before the doors closed, a friendly face stopped them and got in with her.

“Hey,” Calleigh said, with a grin on her face.

“Oooooh, who are you calling? Tax collector? Santa Claus? Your boyfriend?” Ryan said, teasingly.

“Not even close. I’m calling the cab company. Although, there was that one time with the cab driver, so maybe he counts as my boyfriend, too.”

The grin vanished from Ryan’s face, which did not go unnoticed by Calleigh. “Ryan… that was a joke.”

Ryan got red in the face. “Oh, I, uh, I knew that,” he stammered.

Calleigh’s phone suddenly beeped and died. “Damn it. My phone ran out of battery. My car’s at the shop so I’ve been taking a cab to work. I need to call one, so may I borrow your cell phone?”

“Why don’t I just give you a ride home?” he asked.

“Oh, I don’t want to make you go out of your way,” she said.

“No, no, it’s not a problem,” he said. They got into the parking lot, and Ryan opened his car door for her. Calleigh’s beautiful smile gleamed at him. Ryan could always tell how Calleigh was feeling through her smiles, and this time, he knew she was happy to spend some time with him.

They spent the first ten minutes simply talking, but Ryan loved every second of it. He always enjoyed hearing Calleigh’s opinions on things, usually because his opinions were the same. Calleigh was the most interesting woman he had ever met. Suddenly, his phone rang.

“Hey, Cal, can you get that for me, please?” He asked.

“Hello?” Calleigh said. “No, Ryan’s right here. Yes. Okay. What was the bar’s name again? Okay, great. You did a very good thing by calling us. We’ll be over soon. Bye now.”

“Who was that?” Ryan suspiciously asked.

“Someone named George. He said that you gave him your number to call if he was ever too drunk to drive somewhere, and you would drive him home so he wouldn’t be driving under the influence.”

“Yeah, I caught him drunk driving once, and we talked a little. He’s only called me one other time,” Ryan said. “I’m so sorry. It might be a little longer before I drop you off. Is that okay?”

“Of course, Ryan,” Calleigh insisted. She, once again, flashed her radiant, warming smile.

A few minutes later, they arrived at the bar. Calleigh saw a short, scruffy looking man standing in front of the building. He came over to the car and got in the back seat, wobbling.

“Thanksssss, Ryan,” he said, his speech slurring.

“No problem. So you live on Bernaden Avenue, correct?” Ryan asked.

“Nawww, I got evicted. I’m living withhhh a friend. Here, he gave me the addressss,” George said, handing him a slip of paper.

Ryan looked and it and groaned. “George, this is an hour and a half away.”

The man ignored Ryan and turned to Calleigh. “And, hellooooo, lovely. What issss your name? I’m Georrrrrge. You can call me that, gorgeoussss.”

Ryan said, “Sorry, George. I hear something’s going on with Calleigh and a cab driver already.” Calleigh laughed.

George sighed. “Well, dahling, if that doesn’t work out…”

It took two hours to drive out to his house, but the time passed quickly. Soon, they arrived and George thanked both Calleigh and Ryan, and went inside.

Over half an hour later, Calleigh and Ryan were talking and laughing again. It suddenly struck Ryan that he hadn’t talked with Calleigh in a very long time, and realized how much he missed it.

“Hey, Cal, I’m so sorry about all of this,” Ryan apologized.

“Ryan, it’s fine. I’m actually having a great time.”

“Sure. Right. Who wouldn’t love spending four hours in the car with an alcoholic, driving to the middle of nowhere,” Ryan muttered.

Calleigh chuckled. “Well, I’m having fun just hanging out with you.”

Ryan smiled and put his hand on Calleigh’s. The car suddenly started slowing down and eventually came to a halt. Ryan jiggled the keys a little and tried turning it on again. It purred and went quiet.

“Great,” Ryan said. “I bet that now you’re regretting coming with me.”

“You are yet to bore me,” Calleigh said in her always optimistic tone. “We can just call a tow truck.”

“It’s going to take them a while to get all the way out here.”

“What’s wrong? Am I boring you?”

Ryan laughed. God, she was adorable. “Not possible.” He flipped open his phone and dialed.

Hey, so there was the first chapter. I hope you liked it! I’m curious to see what you think. I actually planned out what I’m going to write for this story, and I have almost 15 chapters planned already. It will be crazy! Stay tuned. :) And please review.
