Sakura’s Paper Fan

Me: Another SasuSaku one. I mean, the title clearly says so, who else is Sakura’s Paper Fan? Certainly not Itachi…

Sasuke: Sakura falling for my brother? An S-rank criminal?

Me: It could happen.

Sasuke: Oh…oh god!

Me: Contains small amounts of NaruHina, InoKiba, LeeTenten, and NejiTemari and tiny amounts of Nejten.

It was a bright sunny day in Konoha, and fifteen-year-old Haruno Sakura knew it was going to be a good day. She got out of her training with Tsunade early, and was now hanging with Ino, Hinata, Tenten, and Temari; they were at a small restaurant, enjoying a nice bowl of noodles.

The girls laughed. “Yeah, it sure was fun, back then. I can’t believe we all became friends,” Temari said.

“Well, speaking of friendships, you and Neji are pretty close,” Tenten said. Temari’s eyes grew big and she blushed a bit.

“What are you jealous Tenten?” Temari asked.

“No,” Tenten said. “Though, I do miss training with him. He always wants to train with you now, you know.”

“Yeah, well,” Temari said and took another bite of her noodles.

“What about you Ino? Got any boy in your sights? Sasuke, perhaps?” Tenten teased.

“I’m over that hot headed Uchiha,” Ino waved her arm.

“Oh? Choji or Shikamaru catch your fancy?” Tenten pressed.

“Why don’t you just admit it that you like Lee and be done with it?” Ino said, glaring at Tenten. Tenten blushed.

“Fine, I like Lee,” she muttered. “So, who do you like?”

“Kiba,” Ino sighed dreamily.

“The dog guy?” Temari gasped.

“Akamaru is sweet!” Ino protested.

“Okay, okay,” Sakura said. “Settle down.”

“So, Hinata?” Tenten looked that the Hyuga Heiress.

“Well…Naruto and I are going…on a date tonight,” she flushed, fiddling with her fingers.

“Oh, that’s so sweet!” Tenten said. “Sakura?”

“I’m not dating anyone,” Sakura said. She smiled and looked at her friends. “What?” she asked.

“Maybe you should go with Shikamaru, he’s really nice, if you don’t mind the lazy type,” Ino said.

“Are you kidding? She’s still pining over Uchiha!” Temari pointed out. Sakura shrank back into the cushion. Hinata reached over the table and patted her arm.

“Its okay Sakura-chan, I know you miss him,” Hinata said softly.

“Hinata-chan!” Naruto’s loud obnoxious voice sounded. “Hinata-chan!” Naruto ran over to Hinata.

“Hi, N-N-N-Naruto-kun,” she muttered blushing. “What are you doing here?”

“Yeah, no boys allowed,” Ino said. Naruto looked rather confused.

“I’m here to pick up Hinata for training, we are going to do a little sparing,” Naruto said as Hinata stood up. Hinata grabbed Naruto’s hand. “Oh, and Sakura, Kakashi-sensei is looking for you,” Naruto said and was soon deep in conversation with Hinata.

“I better go too,” Sakura said, leaving the other three to talk about boys and stuff.

Sakura soon found Kakashi, standing on the underside of a branch, reading his Icha Icha Paradise. “You wanted to speak to me Kakashi-sensei?” Sakura asked.

“Yep, I did.” Kakashi said, as he turned a page in his book.

“About what?” Sakura asked.

“This,” Kakashi pulled out a letter. “Came for you. The postal-nin was looking for you and I told him I would give it to you,” Kakashi handed Sakura the letter. “And no, I didn’t read it,” he added as she left.

Sakura walked to a bench and sat down and opened the letter. She gasped as she read it. It was from Sasuke.

Sakura—

I know you probably hate me right now, for what I did to you three years ago, and I know that sorry won’t cut it. I don’t regret leaving, but I regret hurting you, after all, you only wanted to be my friend and I pushed you away so many times.

I bet you are stronger now than the last time I saw you. That makes me glad; maybe then you can spar with me after I get back from killing Itachi.

Speaking of Itachi, I realize that there is more in life than just killing someone for revenge. My entire life has been bent on killing my brother, but…I realize now that the reasons I thought I hated Itachi so much were a little askew. I hate him now more than ever, because if he isn’t stopped he can hurt you. I don’t want that to happen…correct, I don’t want that to ever happen. I realize now, you mean a lot to me and part of my mission is to protect you from my brother.

I hope you are doing well, and I miss Naruto, even though he’s the most hyperactive knuckle-headed ninja in all of Konoha, he was the closest thing I had to a true friend…besides you of course. I hope Kakashi-sensei is doing well.

I’m doing fine, and I don’t know when I’ll be back. I hope the village can forgive me and we can start something together. In the meantime, don’t forget about me Sakura, you are my cherry blossom…and that means something to me.

Sasuke

PS: Sakura, could you stop at the Yamanaka flower shop and buy two roses…I would like it if you put them on my parents’ graves. Thank you.

Sakura closed her eyes and sighed as she felt tears rolling down her cheeks. She wiped them away and folded the letter gently and tucked it into her pocket, she then headed over to the Yamanaka flower shop to buy the roses.

Kakashi found her at the Konoha Cemetery, in the Uchiha clan section. “Only members of the Uchiha clan, are allowed to enter here,” Kakashi said.

“I’m doing a friend a favor,” Sakura said. She bent down and placed one rose on the two graves. She gave a sad smile and before leaving.

Kakashi looked at the kanji on the tombstones. “Uchiha Fugaku and Uchiha Mikoto,” Kakashi frowned. “Sasuke’s parents? Why is she putting roses on their graves?” he wondered. “That letter…it must’ve been from Sasuke, he must’ve asked her to do that.” Kakashi smiled behind his mask.

Years Later

Sasuke walked passed the Konoha Cemetery, there on the graves of his parents were two roses. He smiled. Sakura must’ve put them there, he thought happily.

“Sasuke?” Sakura asked. Sasuke turned. “SASUKE!” she screamed and ran at him. He opened his arms and she slammed into him. He took a step back to keep from falling.

“I missed you so much,” Sakura whispered.

“He’s dead,” Sasuke whispered.

“Who’s dead?” Sakura asked, cocking her head at Sasuke.

“Itachi, I killed him a few days ago,” Sasuke said.

“Sasuke…I’m sorry,” Sakura said.

“Don’t be,” Sasuke looked away.

“He’s your brother,” Sakura said.

“My brother died a long time ago. The man I killed wasn’t my brother,” Sasuke told her, coolly. Sakura nodded.

“I’m glad your home,” Sakura whispered.

“Me too,” Sasuke smiled, and he caught her lips with his.

It began to rain but the two loves didn’t care, finally reunited after years of suffering.

Kakashi smirked from behind the bushes. “Knew it.”

Me: R’n’R!
