Hello people!! Okay, for this fic to work ROSS did not interrupt any wedding and Reed and Sue get married like any normal couple! Aww fluffiness! Also, use your imagination when it comes to the songs ( Personally it’s a cross between Darren Hayes and Duncan James for the voice ).
I own nothing you recognise. But I do own the two songs “Girl on the Corner” and “Meant to be.” So please, no stealing!
On One Condition
Johnny blinked and pulled his head off the pillow it was resting on, that sounded familiar – but Sue wouldn’t, she just wouldn’t...
“Sue what is this?” Reed’s voice floated up from the living room.
“Oh it’s just an old tape of a collage band contest a couple of years ago.”
Oh god, she was actually playing it!
Johnny jumped off the bed and ran, full sped, down the stairs into the living room, “Sue!”
Johnny screeched to a stop in front of the TV and folded his arms across his chest, “What – may I ask – are you doing?”
“Just a little research for whose going to sing at our wedding,” Sue replied sweetly, “now move.” Sue used a force field to get Johnny to move away from the TV.
“But... But... Sue!” Johnny stuttered, seeing he would get no where with his sister Johnny threw his hands up in the air and ran back to his room – so not wanting to be in the room for Sue’s “research”.
Sue smiled, “Ready Reed?” she asked, snuggling up to her soon to be husband.
Reed blinked, “What was that all about Sue?”
“Well, you’re about to see in about... twenty seconds,” Sue grinned indicating towards the TV.
Reed shrugged and turned his attention back to the television, “Whoa – wait a second, is that Johnny?” He asked watching as a band got ready to perform at the concert.
“Yup,” Sue muttered with a grin, “prepared to be shocked Reed.”
“How’s everyone going tonight?” A twenty year old Johnny asked the crowd and the concert, cheers and screams answered the scream.
“Awesome, right this one’s about a special girl,” Johnny told the crowd, “Let’s go!”
Johnny strummed an instrumental on the metallic blue acoustic guitar that he had around his neck before a soft drum beat started accompanied by a piano.
The drums, piano and guitar mixed together to create a sweet sound before Johnny started singing...
This one’s about the girl,
That lives on the corner of my street.
The one that walk right past me,
Like I’m not even there.
The one with bright blue eyes,
And platinum blonde hair.
I don’t even know,
The girl on the corners name.
Yet, for some reason,
I think about her everyday.
Even though she may not know it,
That girl’s got me wrapped around her finger...
Oh yeah, if she could see,
The real me.
Oh yeah, if I could only know,
What it would take for her to notice me.
Oh yeah, If I could tell her,
How I truly feel.
Oh yeah, the girl on the corner,
Had got me head over heels.
So this girl on the corner,
Has no idea I exist.
Even though we pass each other,
On our street everyday.
She hasn’t even said hello yet,
And she never may.
The girl on the corner,
Has a life like you wouldn’t believe.
It’s no wonder,
She doesn’t take a second look at me.
Even though she may not know it,
That girl’s got me wrapped around her finger...
Oh yeah, if she could see,
The real me.
Oh yeah, if I could only know,
What it would take for her to notice me.
Oh yeah, If I could tell her,
How I truly feel.
Oh yeah, the girl on the corner,
Had got me head over heels.
Every guy she talks to,
Is another jab to my heart.
Every date she goes on,
Tears me apart.
Every time she ignores me,
I want to run away.
Every day she looks right through me,
Could I just disappear today...
Oh yeah, if she could see,
The real me.
Oh yeah, if I could only know,
What it would take for her to notice me.
Oh yeah, If I could tell her,
How I truly feel.
Oh yeah, the girl on the corner...
Oh yeah, if she could see,
The real me.
Oh yeah, if I could only know,
What it would take for her to notice me.
Oh yeah, If I could tell her,
How I truly feel.
Oh yeah, the girl on the corner,
Had got me head over heels.
Cheers from the crowd drowned out Johnny's thanks – the crowd yelled “encore!” As the band left the sage...
Reed stared at the TV in amazement as Sue turned off the tape, “Wow... wow...”
“So – what do you think, do I need to start badgering Jonny?”
“Wow – wow...” Reed repeated, “that was... that... since when could... how come we haven’t heard anything about this?”
“He stopped playing after that – I never found out why though,” Sue mused, “But you can’t just lose a talent like that! Come on Reed, what do you say?”
Reed nodded, still in shock, “I never thought... wow – wow ...”
Sue laughed before getting off the couch and making her way up to Johnny's room.
“Johnny?” Sue knocked before entering, she smiled at Johnny who was sitting on his bed, glaring at her, “Reed liked it...”
“I can’t believe you actually showed him Sue,” Johnny muttered, “And you know I don’t play anymore...”
“Is that why you still have your guitar?” Sue asked with a grin, “Come on Johnny – just this once – at the wedding – for me?”
Johnny made the mistake of looking at Sue, “Ah, I hate it when you make that face...” He muttered, “Sue, I haven’t played in years.”
“Then you better get practising...” Sue told him, “Are you saying yes?”
Johnny sighed, “Fine – yes – on one condition though.”
“And that would be?”

“What’s with the light?” Reed asked Sue as they made their way to the edge of the dance floor at the wedding reception.
“It was the one condition,” Sue mumbled, looking over at the darkened stage.
“What that he couldn’t see?” Reed asked with a laugh.
“No – that no one knows that its him,” Sue replied with a grin, “Lets not keep him waiting shall we?”
“Of course not Mrs Richards,” Reed teased, leading Sue out onto the dance floor, “ready when he is...”
Only a few seconds later – the sound of an acoustic guitar filled the air – followed by a voice that no one in the room recognised.
Well, except for two people.
Everyday, I count my lucky stars.
That we’ve gotten to where we are.
When I first began to love you,
My mind could never comprehend.
Being with you here,
At a new beginning.
So now I’m about to start a new life with you,
I guess there’s only one thing left to do.
I want to thank you baby,
For loving me like you do.
I want to thank you,
For all the nights we’ve spent together.
Thank you baby,
For making my life complete.
You and me forever,
Because baby
We’re just meant to be.
This new beginning,
Is the best thing I could ask for.
A chance to be with you,
Through the sun and the storms.
A chance to be the one,
You run to when you’re down.
To share the good timed and the bad,
With the one girl I’ll ever love.
So now I’m about to start a new life with you,
I guess there’s only one thing left to do.
I want to thank you baby,
For loving me like you do.
I want to thank you,
For all the nights we’ve spent together.
Thank you baby,
For making my life complete.
You and me forever,
Because baby
We’re just meant to be.
And when you kiss me,
My world explodes.
When you’re with me,
My heart lights on fire.
Gravity’s lost its hold on me baby,
Because I feel like I’m flying.
I want to thank you baby,
For loving me like you do.
I want to thank you,
For all the nights we’ve spent together.
Thank you baby,
For making my life complete.
You and me forever,
Because baby
We’re just meant to be.
And when you kiss me,
My world explodes.
When you’re with me,
My heart lights on fire.
Gravity’s lost its hold on me baby,
Because I feel like I’m flying.
Sue had tears in her eyes as the last cord was strung, “Oh my... I never thought he’d actually write... wow...”
Reed kissed her on the top of the head, “He did it because he loved you Sue – still that was beautiful.”
“It was,” Sue muttered, “So he better get down her quickly, so I can tell him.”
“Tell me what?’
Sue turned to see Johnny smiling at her, how he got down there so fast she would never had know.
“Oh Johnny, that was so beautiful,” Sue smothered him a hug, “Thank you so much.”
“You’re welcome Sis,” Johnny muttered, “But, um could you have maybe waited?”
“What?” Sue blinked, the she realised that all the guests were staring at them strangely, “Woops...”
“No one knows remember,” Johnny muttered, he gave her a hug and grinned at Reed before leaving them to get back to their weeding.
“Right, no one knows.”
