About four years later…
Epilogue: Lullaby, Lullaby..
“So - so the number to the restaurant is on the table and - and ring me if anything happens…”
“Sue, Sue, stop worrying, everything will be fine,” Johnny rolled his eyes at his sister, “Sue - nothing will happen, I promise…”
“What if… he comes here,” Sue sighed and shook her head at her brother, “I know, okay - you and Reed are doing this to get my mind of him… but, but it wont work I’m - I’m… terrified…”
Johnny wrapped his arms around Sue and sighed, he had a feeling that Sue would figure it out - after all, he and Reed had planned to take Sue’s mind of Ryan being released today, and it didn’t seem to be working…
“Sue, I promise I will not let him anywhere near us…” Johnny gave Sue a small smile, “I wont let him hurt you again and if he does show his face…”
A strange look came over Johnny, as if he wanted to do something - yet didn’t want to do it at the same time.
“Oh Johnny, you - you don’t have to do that,” Sue had once again, used her creepy ability to read Johnny’s mind, “I know I shouldn’t be so worried about this, its just Franklin and Valarie.”
“Hey, you know I wouldn’t let anything happen to them,” Johnny grinned as Reed appeared in the doorway, “What don’t you trust me sis?”
Sue gave a light laugh, “Don’t be silly… I would rather someone be with you just in case…” She frowned slightly, “where is Saffron anyway?”
“She’s back in Las Vegas breaking the news to her parents… they never actually liked me, so it may get interesting…”
Sue playfully hit Johnny on the shoulder before shaking her head, “You two are going to be fine…” small tears formed in her eyes and she grinned before adding, “um, I should probably go right now…”
Reed came forward to the two, “if we don’t leave now we might not make the reservation,” he handed Sue her coat before turning to Johnny, “They’re both in bed - Franklin will be probably be up soon…”
Johnny grinned and clapped Reed on the shoulder, “Never fear, fun Uncle Johnny will get them sorted, you guys just have a great night - you deserve it…”
“We will, thank you Johnny,” Sue hugged her brother one last time, “I have no idea what I would do without you…”

True to Reed’s word, not ten minutes later, Franklin came running out of his room and bounding down the stairs where Johnny was quietly watching the television…
“Uncle Johnny, Uncle Johnny, Uncle Johnny!” Franklin jumped up and down in front of the television, his voice getting more excited and therefore louder, every time he said Johnny’s name, “Can we play a game? Please!”
Johnny shook his head and picked up Franklin, throwing him over his shoulder, “You’re much more trouble than your worth kid.”
Franklin, however, thought it was great fun being slung over his Uncles shoulders, the three (“almost four! Almost four!”) year old giggled hectically as Johnny carried him back to bed, “Is this a new game Uncle Johnny?”
“Yeah, its called got to bed…” Johnny grinned as his nephew as the young kid looked up at him from on the bed where Johnny had placed him, utterly confused, “You need to go to be d- other wise Mummy will be very cross with Uncle Johnny…”
“But its funny when Mummy yells at Uncle Johnny,” Franklin giggled, jumping up and down on his bed as he remembered the many timed that this had happened in his short life span.
Johnny was about to say something in reply, but then sighed as cries could suddenly been heard through the house, “now look what you’ve done,” Johnny told Franklin in mock assertiveness, “you’ve woken you’re sister up.”
Johnny made his way out of Franklins room and down the hallway to the nursery that connected onto Reed and Sue’s room, (the nursery was no longer blue, but instead a lovely baby pink). Franklin’s small feet patted behind Johnny as he followed him.
“Valarie, Val-Val…” Johnny made his way over to the crib where baby Valarie was crying, the second new member of the family had just turned one a few months ago, “Hey Valarie baby, don’t cry - don’t cry…”
Valarie immediately stopped crying when she saw Johnny, she blinked quickly and looked up at Johnny, her eyes completely focused on his - she reached up an arm to grab Johnny’s hand, which was resting on the side of the crib.
“Hey there cutie,” Johnny smiled as Valarie’s whole hand wrapped around one of his fingers, “now how about we get you back to sleep huh?”
“How do you do it Uncle Johnny,” Franklin’s head popped his head over the crib and stared at his baby sister, “she’s so quiet…”
Johnny grinned at his nephew, “it’s a gift…” he turned back to Valarie and gave her his full attention, “Now, lets get you back to sleep…”
Then, without saying anything else, Johnny started singing softly, his eyes never leaving Valarie’s, as she slowly drifted back to sleep,
“Let me sing you a lullaby - in hoped of getting you to sleep tonight.
Let your weary eyes droop down - in the land of dreams you’ll be found.
So rest your little weary head - and let the dreams dance until the end.
Where fairy tales can come true - with an ocean so clear and blue.
So little princess, wont you sleep - into your dreams, fall so deep.
My darling Valarie, my sweet, my love - its time to be a silent as a dove.
So hear my lullaby, and hear it well - until you wake tomorrow…
Good night, sweet dreams, sleep tight.”
Johnny smiled down at the know deeply sleeping Valarie, it seemed that the lullaby had worked wonders, and not just on Valarie either…
“Come on you little tyke,” Johnny now addressed Franklin, who was yawning beside him and seemingly falling asleep, “Say goodnight to your sister and then its your turn.”
Franklin yawned, “S-Story first Uncle Johnny, you know that…”
Johnny sighed and picked up Franklin in his arms, “Okay - one story.”

“Thank you so much for a wonderful night Reed,” Sue wrapped her arms around her husband as they made their way into the lounge of the Baxter building, “It really did help keep my mind off things… I thin I’ll be fine from now on…”
“I’m glad you had a good time Sue,” Reed paused in the lounge, “Looks like Johnny was too tired to wait up.”
Sue nodded, noticing the empty lounge, it was strange though, Johnny normally waited for them, “I’ll do see him - could you check on Franklin please.”
Reed nodded and he and Sue made their way up the stairs, when Reed got to Franklins room he grinned and turned back down the hall way, “Sue - you wont find Johnny in his room.”
Sue blinked, she was just about to open Johnny’s door when Reed came up to her, “pardon?”
Reed just smiled and took her hand, leading her back to Franklins room, “See for yourself.”
Sue gave Reed a puzzled look before peering into her sons room - a huge smile spread lit up at her at what she saw.
Franklin was sound asleep on his bed - and so was Johnny. Franklin was curled up beside his uncle, his head and shoulders resting on Johnny’s chest. One of Johnny’s arms was draped around his nephew while the other lay at his side, a still opened book in his hand.
“That, is just too cute,” Sue whispered to Reed before tip-toeing over to the bed, she prised the book from Johnny’s hand and pulled a throw rug, which was slung over the end of the bed, over the two sleeping figures.
Johnny mumbled something in his sleep, snuggling up into the throw rug as he did so - he did not wake.
Sue stared down at them for awhile before sighing contently, “Good night,” She whispered, bending down to kiss both Franklin and Johnny on the forehead.
She made her way back to the door where Reed was happily taking in the sight, they closed the door quietly, leaving it ajar slightly as they turned out the light, “Sweet dreams.”
