LES: Jak, the sort-of double agent!
Muse: Actually, he would be a spy. A double agent is someone who works both sides equally. Jak’s just working for Praxis.
LES: Thus the words ‘sort of’!
Chapter XI
The next few days were spent conditioning Jak on what to do inside the Underground. Praxis wanted information like estimated force size, force movement, the details of their major raids, their priority list, and the location of the Underground’s main base, among other things.
In return, Praxis outlined a number of fake plans and strategies to feed to the Rebels if they wanted information in return. That way, he would be able to ‘give information’ instead of remaining silent and betraying himself.
The fake plans were not very ‘intelligent’, but who said that fake plans had to be good ones? The plans basically put the Metal-Heads as number one priority; to catch the Rebels off-guard thinking Praxis didn’t see them as a threat. They also outlined that Praxis was planning a full-scale assault on the Metal-Head Nest. Foolish to the extreme, but it would make the Rebels question Praxis’ intelligence and underestimate him. Therein would like the Underground’s downfall.
Jak continually said over and over that he would only do this on the condition that Keira was kept safe.
“Fear not, Dark Warrior, her membership to the Underground remains unreported. As of now, she is listed as a hostage.” Praxis said.
Jak knew that Keira was no hostage. In fact, he suspected that she was a higher-ranking member. But he wasn’t going to say that. As a ‘hostage’ Keira would remain safe from the Krimzon Guard fortress.
Finally, Praxis said. “You are ready. Now, start towards the stadium. You have ten minutes before I put the City on a fake ‘High Alert’. The Krimzon Guards have their orders. And call me on my private line when you get information.”
“Yessir.” Jak said with a heavy heart. With a bow, he walked away, praying to be forgiven for what he was about to do.
Keira was alarmed when sirens began to scream and the Krimzon Guards in the area jumped into double time.
“It’s a High Alert!” Daxter, on her shoulder, said. “I wonder what happened.”
“Let’s find out what’s going on.” Keira said, resisting the urge to cover her long ears against the sound of the sirens. “Excuse me, sir!” Keira caught the attention of a passing Guard. “What’s going on?”
The Guard gave the response that he was ordered to give. “Commander Erol has been attacked!”
“Attacked?” Keira gasped, amazed. “Attacked by who?”
“A traitor.” The KG said, running off.
“A traitor in the KG?” Keira gasped.
“Uh… baby… maybe we should get inside.” Daxter suggested. “You know those Krimzon Guards look for an excuse to shot anyone when they are one a High Alert.”
“You’re right.” Keira said, heading back to the sanctuary of her garage. However, almost as soon as they were inside and had looked the blast doors, someone began to pound on the metal door frantically. Keira froze for several seconds before she called. “Who is it?”
“It’s Jak! Quick! Open up!” Jak’s voice called through the door.
Keira instantly jumped into action, opening the door, pulling Jak into the room, closing the door again, and pulling the elf into a quick kiss.
It was a very short kiss, only lasting about half-a-second, because Keira pulled away quickly. “Jak? What’s going on? The Krimzon Guards are saying that there’s a KG traitor!”
Jak frowned at her words and moved away from her, sitting down on the couch with his head in his hands. “What’s up?” Daxter asked. “Why aren’t you out there looking for this traitor guy with the rest of the KG?”
“I know where and who the traitor is.” Jak said slowly, looking up at Keira. “He’s sitting right here in this garage.”
Time froze as Keira and Daxter stared at the elf. “What?” Daxter asked.
“You’re the traitor?” Keira gasped. “But… how?”
“I had a… disagreement with Erol… a violent disagreement.” Jak said slowly. “Erol wanted to use an unacceptable method of torturing prisoners. He wanted my help with injecting them with Dark Eco. They were not to be drugged like I was during my injections. Totally conscious, this would be the worst torture imaginable. I couldn’t allow that. It got… very violent.”
“So… you kicked out ‘dear’ Commander’s ass. So? From what I’ve heard, Praxis’s isn’t that fond of Erol either.”
“But Erol is still a superior officer.” Jak said. “And that sort of offense, to attack a superior officer, is punishable by death.” Jak shook his head. “I am no officially a fugitive of the law.”
“Wait. You serious?” Daxter asked.
“Dax! I’m on the run from the f&ing law! Why wouldn’t I be serious?” Jak demanded.
“Jak!” Keira said, sitting down next to him and wrapping her arms around him, resting her head on his shoulder. “Maybe it’s not as bad as you think…”
“It’s as bad as I think.” Jak said, sorrowfully standing up. “I’m going to the guest room to crash. Maybe I’ll wake up tomorrow to find this has all been a nightmare.” With that, Jak left. When his back was turned to them, he grinned grimly to himself. A performance worthy of the Baron’s best spies. He thought to himself. Then he was gone.
A few seconds after Jak had left; Keira stood up and began to follow him. “Whoa!” Daxter exclaimed. “Where do you think you’re going?”
“Jak needs me.” Keira said.
“I didn’t see any sex messages there.” Daxter said.
Keira rounded on him. “It’s not about sex! It’s about being there for the one I love when he’s at his lowest!” Keira hissed.
“That, or Jak is a really good actor.” Daxter said.
“You still suspect him, your best friend, after all that’s happened to him?” Keira asked disbelievingly.
“Mushrooms don’t change their spots.” Daxter said. “Isn’t that what Samos always said.
Keira snapped. “This time, Daddy’s wrong!” Keira half-yelled, going up the stairs after Jak.
She quickly stepped into the guest room. Jak was on the bed, lying on his back, his arms behind his head, and his eyes closed. “Leave me, Keira.” Jak said without opening his eyes.
“No.” Keira said, blatantly refusing to leave. She moved over closer to him, sitting on the edge of the bed. “You need me.”
“I don’t need anybody!” Jak hissed, turning away from her.
Keira stared at his back, shocked. “Please, Jak, don’t prove Daxter right about you.”
There was silence for several seconds before Jak spoke. “What has Daxter said about me?”
“He… he said…” Keira trailed off. “That I don’t really mean anything to you. That our sex is just that… sex… nothing more.”
Jak suddenly sat up and turned towards her, realizing that he had taken this act a little too far. “Keira! No! You mean more to me than sex!” He put his hands tenderly on her arms. “Keira! I love you!”
“Then let me in! Let me help you.” Keira said, running her soft hands down the sides of his face. “I want to help you.”
Jak shook his head slowly, as to not dislodge her hands. “For over two years, I’ve been working to help the Baron destroy the Metal-Heads for good, and now a single angry moment ruined it all.”
Keira moved closer to the elf, wrapping her arms around his body. “Jak, you can still fight the Metal-Heads. You can fight for the Underground.”
Jak remained silent. “Even if I did, they wouldn’t let me join. Me? A former Krimzon Guard?”
“They probably would.” Keira said. “The Underground’s Force Commander, Torn…”
Jak jumped on the name. “Torn? Commander Torn of the Krimzon Guards? The Commander before Erol?”
“Yes. He was a Krimzon Guard too, as you obviously know.” Keira said.
“But he’s dead!” Jak said. That was the story he heard. “In the aftermath of the destruction of Dead Town!”
“I’m sure Praxis said that, but it’s not true. Torn’s alive. He switched sides. No one is sure why he switched, but he did.”
Jak grinned. Praxis will be very interested in this information. He thought to himself.
Keira noticed the grin on his face and laughed. “What are you smiling about?”
“Oh. Just thinking about how amazing you are.” Jak said with an even wider smile. At least he didn’t have to act through this. “I love you.” He pulled the she-elf into a passionate kiss, which she gladly returned, wrapping her arms around his neck.
When they parted for a second, Keira breathed. “I love you.” They pulled back into this their kiss, making it deeper than before. Jak’s wicked hands moved up from her waist to her breasts.
Keira smiled against his mouth. “Are you sure I’m not just a sex toy?” Keira asked, but she wasn’t upset at all.
“Keira. Sex is very good. But this is because I love you, not because I just wanna get into your pants.” Jak grinned. “You can’t pretend you don’t like it.”
“I guess not.” Keira said. “So… you don’t want sex at all right now?” She asked, a little disbelievingly.
Jak smiled. “Maybe a little.” He admitted, pulling her into another kiss. “And don’t listen to Daxter for advice on love. He’s just jealous that I have the most beautiful…” He kissed her lips. “… The most talented…” He kissed her nose. “… The most amazing woman in Haven City…” He finished by kissing her forehead.
Keira smiled. “You are certainly much more of a catch than I am. Handsome.” She repeated his motions, kissing a different part of his face for each compliment. “Strong. Brave. And mind-blowingly amazing.”
They leaned down on the bed, making out wildly. Jak moved his upper body over hers.
And… the door opened.
“Hey, do you two want dinner or… WHOA!!” Daxter cried out when he saw what was going on in the room. Jak quickly moved away from Keira. The she-elf instinctively covered herself up. Which was really unnecessary, considering that she was still fully clothed. It was really Jak who needed some sort of covering, considering the fact that he was visibly aroused at the moment. And poor Daxter stared for a second and then swiftly turned away. “Sweet Precursors! I’ll never be right again!” He slammed the door shut. “I’ll just assume that you won’t be coming down to dinner.” Jak could hear him grumbling all the way downstairs.
The elf fell back against the bed, groaning in embarrassment, his own arousal completely forgotten. “Great. Just great!”
Keira made a valiant attempt at a laugh. “Well, it could have been worse… he could have walked in during the middle of it.”
“Don’t remind me.” Jak groaned.
Keira stared at her love, and then down at his arousal, then she got up. She moved over to the door, locked it, and moved back onto the bed. “There. Now we can be alone.” She said, pulling off her shirt and removing her bra, tossing both aside.
Jak grinned, his arousal remembered, and he tried to pin Keira down on the bed.
“Wait.” Keira said, pushing him back down against the bed, on his back. “Stay there.” Jak stared up at her, confused, but decided to humor her. He swiftly removed his own shirt, and then they both maneuvered out of their pants and underwear.
Keira continued to hold the elf down against the bed, her eyes shining mischievously as she straddled his waist.
Jak grinned wickedly and slowly guided her into position, his hands on her hips to give her the needed guidance. Keira gazed up at the ceiling, letting a low moan of pleasure escape her throat. She gazed back down at him, smiling lovingly. “I love you.” She breathed.
“I love you too.” Jak breathed back, sitting up so that he had his body pressed against hers. It took Keira a few seconds to get used to being the one in charge, but she learned the same way Jak learned during their first love-making experience. If it feels good, then its game. But once Keira got used to it, she found a whole new experience. Not that her first time making love with Jak was bad. It was just that they were both virgins, and neither one was experienced in gratification. Keira knew what felt good to her, and was able to show, rather than have to tell, Jak how she like it.
For a long time, Jak took the submissive place and allowed Keira to non-verbally tell him how she liked sex. He listened to her silence messages quietly, except to let the occasional moan pass his lips.
Then, just as he began to feel her growing tired with the physical stress of being in charge, Jak decided that it was his turn. He grabbed onto Keira’s arms and flipped them over, tangling the sheets, and resulting in Jak gaining the position of power.
“My turn.” He hissed, and then set about to show her how much he had learned about her preferred sexual technique.
At first, Keira was glad Jak had taken over when he did, because she was getting tired. But then all thought was washed away with his first thrust. He was powerful and he hit all the right spots. Keira couldn’t stop herself before she screamed, loudly, in pleasure and Jak froze.
“Shhh!” Jak hissed. “Daxter will think I’m killing you or something!”
“I don’t care!” Keira gasped. “Just, Precursors, take me, Jak!”
Jak nodded and continued to pleasure her, allowing the she-elf to muffle her cries against his chest, and his own cries where muffled against her hair.
After what seemed a shorter time than last time, they reached climax, and both had great difficulty restraining cries of pleasure. When the last remains of their orgasms faded, Jak rolled off Keira, both gasping for breath as they lay side-by-said.
“Precursors, Jak…” Keira breathed, brushing some sweat-dampened hair out of her lover’s face. “You are a Sex God!”
Jak managed to blush through his exhaustion. “You weren’t so bad yourself, my love.”
They pulled each other into several short, but passionate kisses. They had to be short, because they were still out-of-breath.
The door rattled a bit, like someone was trying to gain entrance, but thankfully, the lock held. “Hey,” Daxter’s voice called through the door. “Are you two too busy fooling around to have dinner? I’m hungry!”
Keira pulled away from Jak briefly. “What do you say? Get up and have dinner, or stay in bed?” She asked.
Jak grinned, pressing his lips against her throat. “Stay with me.” He breathed.
“Okay.” Keira agreed, and they melted into each other’s embrace. “Later, Daxter!” She called through the door.
“Good Precursors!” Daxter grumbled.
“I love you.” Keira breathed against Jak’s chest.
“I love you too.” Jak breathed, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.
“Half an hour later, Jak had Keira finally managed to get out of bed and downstairs. Daxter sat at the table, but kept his eyes firmly adverted.
“So, you two have finally decided to get some dinner? Good. Because you know I can’t do anything by myself, especially after my mind has been defiled by the sight of…”
“Daxter!” Jak growled as a warning, sitting down. “If you know what’s good for you, you will shut up right now.”
Daxter, still keeping his eyes adverted, began to talk to Keira. “Out of all the guys you could date, you choose the one guy who is not only a KG… err… ‘former’ KG, but is also a complete psycho!”
“Daxter!” Keira spat. “Jak is not a psycho! And he is a former KG!”
“Prove it!” Daxter said.
“Prove it?” Jak repeated. “Very well, what do you want? Praxis’ plans?”
“That easy?” Keira asked. “I didn’t expect you to do this that face.”
“Maybe it’s the sex!” Daxter said. “Hey, Keira, maybe you should have sex with him more if it makes him blab!”
Jak rolled his eyes. “No. But I did realize that… my time as a Krimzon Guard is over. And if I’m going to stay here, I’ll need you to trust me. I can’t join the Underground, but I’m still going to fight the Metal-Heads. It’s the least I could do.”
“Okay, so let’s hear this great plan of the Baron’s.” Daxter said.
“Actually…” Jak said. “It’s not a great plan. In my personal opinion, it’s kind of desperate. Baron Praxis says that this war has gone on far too long, and that it is time to mount a direct attack on the Metal-Head Nest.” Daxter and Keira glanced at each other. “I have never been to the Metal-Head Nest, but I have studied records of previous assaults. If those reports are to be believed, then it would take a force of millions, maybe more, to even attempt such a thing.”
“You read those reports right.” Keira said. “And after they got past the billions of Metal-Heads that guard the place, they would have to deal with the Metal-Head Leader.”
“Who can slice and dice your average KG up in about a second.” Daxter said.
“If I had to guess, I would say that I would be on the frontlines when he faced the Metal-Heads.”
“But with you gone, he’s gonna have to get a pretty sizable legion of Krimzon Guards to replace you.” Daxter said.
“No.” Jak said. “He’s gonna have to get much more than that.” He grinned slightly. “It will set him back a lot.”
“I guess that gives us more time for… ‘us’.” Keira said slyly. Jak grinned at her. Daxter groaned in annoyance.
“I changed my mind.” Daxter said suddenly. “I don’t need dinner here. I’ll head over to Tess’ and have dinner there.” With that, Daxter left, leaving Jak confused.
He turned to Keira. “Tess? Who’s Tess?”
Keira giggled. “Daxter’s main squeeze.”
Jak rolled his eyes. “Oh. A girl who lets Daxter stare at her boobs.”
“Actually… I think they… ‘really’ like each other.” Keira said.
“Wait… are you serious?” Is that possible?” Jak asked.
“Anything’s possible.” Keira said, moving closer to Jak, running her hands over his strong arms. “I mean, we fell in love, didn’t we?”
“Of course.” Jak smiled, pulling her into a passionate kiss. Keira gladly sank into his kiss, enjoying every moment of it.
“Jak…” Keira breathed against his mouth. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” Jak breathed back, pulling her back into their kiss.
Then Keira pulled away playfully. “You know, under different circumstances, I would have expected you to take me out by now.” She said. “We’ve slept together twice, but we’ve yet to go on a real date.”
“Well, if you have a ready-to-go disguise, I’ll take you out in a heartbeat.” Jak said.
“I’m not mad.” Keira said. “I know that isn’t possible. But maybe we can have our own romantic dinner here?”
Jak smiled. “Of course.”
